This was a call from DELL Support as a followup regarding an order I placed.

They said it was Dell and asked if my new laptop is working ok. I said yes and they didn't try to sell me anything or ask for information. Just told me that they offer 24 hour customer support over the phone or on the web. Just seems weird.

I am a Dell customer and I received a call from this number today to assist with the return I requested. It was a legitimate Dell employee, following up on a request I put in earlier today.

Some people have been suspicious about the employees asking for personal info. I can see why they would need your full name and DOB, because that is a way to verify your identity without releasing your social security number. I've dealt with Dell for a number of years and never had any problems with identity theft or things of that nature.

HOWEVER... if someone asks for your FULL social security number (not just the last four), then do not release it. If that happens, I can only assume that it must be someone "faking" the number on your caller ID to pose as Dell and take your information.

My call from this number was an Indian call center call asking me how I liked my new Dell computer purchased two months ago. I told her that it needed a service call tomorrow because Dell's support software decided to update an incorrect BIOS version to the computer rendering it inoperable.

The response? (Obviously from the script.) "I am very pleased to hear that you are happy with your Dell computer purchase... blah blah blah."

Received 3 calls from this number on both my cell and home.  I do not answer call from 800 #'s, so I did not answer any of them, and they did not leave a message.  I would think a legitmate company would leave a message, especially after trying several times, even if it's a recorded message.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for over 3 months. I have never answered them or returned their phone calls but my husband has. They claim that they are a branch from dell customer services calling in regards to an order confirmation. I have not bought any dell products in almost 10 years, nor asked for any replacement parts, or other services that dell may provide. When my husband talked to them he informed them of this and asked them to remove us from their call list. That was 2 months ago and I am still receiving these annoying phone calls. They haven't asked for any details like my social security number or date of birth (mostly because I refuse to answer their calls), however, this is particular experience is obviously a scam because the real dell would have dropped my shipment months ago.

I wish I knew what to do to get rid of them...

I received a call from Dell at this number to get feedback from me about a customer support call I had made to them a few days earlier.   I was asked four questions which I was able to answer with a yes or no.   Call took less than two minutes.

Uh, it actually was Dell, you numb nuts.

I received a call from this number the day after ordering a Dell laptop online. The order number she gave me was actually for the antivirus that comes with the laptop for $.02. She asked for my shipping address and middle name for order confirmation. She also said she sent me an email but I didn't get an email. I just checked the tracking on the laptop and it's in transit to my correct address.

Weird but OK.

This is a legitimate number.  It is a Dell follow-up to warranty work, wanting to know if their technician had come and fixed computer.

I just ordered a Dell online and then got a call from this # today. Good chance it is indeed Dell, but why don't they leave a message? Must be soliciting, still...

They are from dell, had to have service don, they are just calling to see if everything is working-

First time they called I ran the number through this website.  Then decided to answer it when they called again.  It was Dell wanting to know how I was enjoying my new computer.  Legitimate call.  If these companies were smart they would start using the caller ID to identify themselves.  I guess they can't do that in India.  That's my number one issue with Dell.  They outsource their techs.

I got a call from this number, they asked me my address because the shipping address was different then the visa address.  I called dell customer service back and they confirmed that this was a legitimate phone call.  
So, yeah...

i got a call from this number, 8004563355, the woman said someone recommended me to her..when i called back the answering machine identified "Dallas Small and Medium Business."  when I searched for this name, there were no direct hits.

I just got a call from this number and didn't answer it because I was on laptop on a live chat. After I complete live chat I googled number and it came up as Dell. This is really funny because the live chat I was on was with Dell. Agent didn't tell me he was calling I was still online with him. I was getting ready to google number on cell phone while agent was working on my laptop and I hadn't charged phone in a couple of days so battery was low. Wasn't where I could go get my charger to plug it in at that time. I wish I had been able to find out whose number it was while I was online with Dell.

The call went to my machine, and it was a program from NPR about sequestering and the budget, etc. I double-checked the calling number, and this is it! Don't know what to make of this. I listened for a few minutes to see if it would change, but it kept on, so I stopped it.

Number keeps calling and not leaving a message. The recording when you call back seems shady too. Dell? I doubt it.
