I received several calls from this number stating that I have been receiving several magazine subscriptions for 2.5 years and that I owe them $69/month for the last 2.5 years.  I demanded to talk to the supervisor, and she then said that she could reduce the rate to $59/month X 30 months...again I refused, she told me that I can't cancel the account because I've been with them for 2.5 years.  Consistently, they were trying to get any piece of my personal information that they could.  I again demanded to talk to a supervisor and she said that she would refer this to her supervisor and if they feel they can cancel the account that they would call me back.  Clearly a scam!!!

0046 800 555 1212 called me today in Denmark - seems to be from Sweden...

I did not take the call, since I dont take calls from numbers I cannot identify...

Did the person speak the same language as you? Was is without accent?

They call my cell at least twice at day. If a caller doesn't leave a message they can forget about me ever picking up the phone

Have received 2 calls from this number in a 1 hour time frame.  Don't leave any message.  Did not call back to find out who it is.

I got the same call.  I told them to cancel the subscriptions and they started in with another pitch of a better deal.  I finally hung up on them nd they didn't call back.

They called my cell phone and left no message. Can't even call to have it removed because it takes me to directory assistance.

I wish I had read your message before yesterday!  I just got scammed by NAM Marketing.  I, too, have been receiving 800-555-1212 calls.  Sometimes I have answered the call, but have gotten an open line without a response to my "hello".  Sometimes I have found the number on my call log.  Yesterday, I picked up my phone without looking at the number and found a representative from NAM Marketing offering me special deals on magazines.  Since I do receive a number of magazines I thought the call was legitimate.  Too late, after giving out my credit card number, I realized they were scammers.  Hope somebody else reads this message in time!

My husband accidentally called 800-842-0881 and got this company... she gave the 800-555-1212 as the main number. THey were offering $100 & $500 coupon for dining and grocery shopping. All I had to pay for was the shipping of $3.95!  I asked for the webiste, and went to it--its an add scam that knows my city...and wants my info-which i immediately closed down. Today, they say they are Dining, Entertainment and Grocery Shopping. Woman was clearly an Indian accent -

I was scammed into a discount on my present Magazine subscriptions. The last caller was to verify the info. she informed me that the amount of $49.90 was for 20 payments, not for one payment. I asked her to cancel my subscription. She said she would. I asked for a verification number and she hung up on me.
I only have one magazine subscription.

Person keeps calling from 800-555-1212 claiming to be with the Reader subscription asking to verify address so they can ship our magazines out. We don't even have a magazine subscription...phaa!! So I told them that thi address doesn't have any magazine subscriptions and then he hung up on me. Now he won't stop calling and he keeps arguing with me about this stupid subscription, and then he hangs up on me when I argue back. There are loud kids in the background when he calls and he always says he can barely hear me. I assume this is a scam and will be sure not to give out any info, especially my card info or address. His number comes up as 239 sometimes..it's weird.

call from 800-555-1212 on my cell - wanted to confirm my address for my magazine subscription, told her I do not have any magazines, she then told me I will see the charges on my credit card - when I asked what credit card she hung up - I refused to give my name and my address -   I then called 800-555-1212 and it stated AT& T directory - what city?

What you mean is "was".  ATT discontinued the toll free directory assistance number years ago.  This IS coming from a scammer.  So pardon me but you need to get YOUR facts straight and drop the unnecessary attitude.

exactly--this scammer is not even trying to be clever about hiding that they are scamming.  I've had several calls where I pick up the number and do not say anything and there is never any response from the caller.  Another extremely annoying pest

I just got a call from 800-555-1212.  I shouldn't have picked up. Any number that starts out as 555 is a fake number they use only on TV.  I picked up anyways and they were talking about a magazine that was sent to my house.  They know my name, address and phone number somehow.  I told them I don't know any magazine coming to my place so I asked for the last 4 digit of the credit card it was getting charged on and they said that is a blocked number and they did not have that info available to them. Then I asked what magazine was coming to my place and he didn't have that answer either.  Later in the conversation the call was dropped.  I didn't know if he hung up or just got disconnected. It was weird and no charge was going to my credit card.
