I also lost my job and miss one house payment in eight years and they called me every hour on the hour, I literally cussed them out, if you don't have money what do they expect you to do.  Something should be done to stop this harressment.

Shows as 'Loan Counseling' in my caller ID.  They asked for me by name and I immediately said "Take me off your calling list" and hung up.

Ten minutes later, anoother call.  I told them that I had received a call from their company a few mintues beffore and to take me off their list.  The woman asked my name.  I said, You know my name, you asked for me.  I repeated Take me off your list and hung up.

Received call from guy named JOHN (barely spoke correct English) hard to understand. Advised he was with Bank of America and asked me to verify who I was and my address. I advised if he was BofA he would know me.  Proceeded to ask for my other private info. I said if he was BofA he should at least know my loan number. He allegedly could not provide. I said then I would have to call him back ... as we have already done the ID THEFT route with loss of funds.  He gave me a number, I checked it while he held to find out IT IS NOT A NUMBER BAC / BofA provides us on statements. I told him that and he still asked me to call the number.   Called the number and got just rings and rings and rings ... after 6 I hung up ... (I do not have Call ID).   SO EVERYONE BEWARE!!!

This number shows as "Toll Free Call" on my caller ID. They called me 3 times so far, 8/9/11 at 4:35pm, 8-8-11 at 8:31pm and at 6:10pm. When they called the last time I tried to answer but no one would talk, dead air space, and they just hung up. So I tried to look up online who it was. From these posts I'm guessing it is a SCAM, do not give out you social security number or any info to anyone who calls you. I do have a BAC Home Loans mortgage, but I can tell you that the one time I was late on a payment they started calling incessantly every day starting the day after the late payment date, BUT my caller ID said Bank of America (or the abbreviation) and it was not a toll free number and there was always a person who spoke English well to talk to!
I Googled my (Indiana) state attorney general's office website and filled out an online form to report the calls as a scam. I would suggest that you try doing this too and perhaps also report it to your phone service carrier. I f you have not done so and your state has one, sign up for your state's "Do Not Call" list. It has saved me from countless solicitation calls and if I get one I press whatever number to speak to someone and only have to mention that I am on  my state's list and they will rudely hang up and never call again...

Only a few minutes after I posted the above posting the same number called again. I answered and it was a very pleasant sounding woman who spoke English well with a Southern accent. I started to wonder if I had filed my complaint with my state attorney general for something legit. I talked to her trying to get as much info as possible... she claimed to be Jeannie (sp?) from Bank of America, she asked to speak to my husband (who's name is on our loan) but mispronounced his last name, either she read it wrong or someone in the scam misspelled it..  she talked for a long time to me, she did eventually ask for my address and for the last 4 digits of my husband's SS#. She would not tell me what the call was about, she said she could not do that without confirming my identity. I told her I could not give out any info to someone who called me. After the call ended I attempted to call Bank of America. I called the customer service number and was run through several prompts all wanting me to pay my bill or promise to pay...finally it went to transfer me to a rep and then dumped the call. So I did it again. After several minutes I realized I was getting nowhere and BAC only wanted my money and had no real customer service through its "customer service" number listed on my bill! So I found some correspondence from them concerning our flood insurance and called their insurance line. I finally talked to a real person who reassured me that everything was fine with our loan and that they (BAC) NEVER call anyone about insurance problems, etc. so the earlier CALL WAS NOT FROM BANK OF AMERICA. I am hoping that "Jeannie" reported that I will not give out info over the phone so they stop calling! DON'T GIVE INFO TO CALLERS FROM THIS #. If you do have a BAC Home Loan check up on it online or call them directly. The number I used to call the insurance department is: 866-265-3321, I AM LEGIT, however I would encourage you to look up the contact number(s) yourself....Good Luck!

    er
I have been getting 4-5 calls from this # a day. After reading the various posts of others who have also been bothered by this company, I have no doubt that this is an attempt to commit fraud.

Yes, this is Bank of America.  They're either attempting to collect on a late mortgage payment (they start calling before the actual late date, trying to generate revenue as early in the month as possible), or they're calling to try to get you to refinance, presuming you qualify, which you probably don't.  The ONLY reason they call is to get money from you in one way or another.  My advice is if you DON'T owe money or are only late by a week or two but intend to pay, don't even bother talking to these people.  They're trained to follow a script that only leads to one place--you paying or making a commitment to pay.  They don't want to DISCUSS anything with you, only to collect.  So don't waste your time.  Just let the phone ring and ignore it.  If you are underwater in your mortgage, or sinking fast, then you should make contact with the bank--but not through these guys.  These guys are collections monkeys.  That's all they're trained to do and aren't able to discuss issues pertaining to your loan.

We are a business and receive hang up calls from this number multiple times a day. I've tried to call them to tell them to quit calling but I can't reach a live person. It's incredibly annoying and I would like it to stop.

It seems that the user of this number is trying to lure people into a scam. I can say this as I have read a lot of complaints on blogs referring to unsolicited calls eminating from phone number  800-669-0102.
I am on the do not call list but it seems that they are above the law. If my husband and I needed a business to help us we would go to our bank not a scammer.

I would like to express that I have received too many calls from 800-669-0102.  I contacted my phone carrier and had all these calls blocked.  If the above phone number went to a cell phone, my understanding according to the literature, "Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991" prohibits the utilization of cell phone for solicitation.   I got this info from the FTC.gov website.  Maybe this is helpful.  I also would recommend one contacts the FCC as well as their states attorney general.  No need to reply.
    Take care.

this is so easy to take care of. I have BofA and they can take my mortgage and suck it. Get a google voice number https://www.google.com/voice/b/0?pli=1#inbox. You then call BofA and let them know they can ONLY call that number. Verify they have removed your number from their system. You either never open Google voice again, or if you're a user you block it.

aaaaaand you never field that call again! If you're prone to getting collection calls or any calls you don't want, only give out the Google number. Only trusted friends and family have non-Google number.

I don't even have an account with BofA but I keep getting calls.  This happens every few months.  If I recall they called once and left a phone number so I called it back because the person they were looking for does not live here.  They never have.  I don't even know who they are.  I was told it would be taken care of.  Well guess what, it hasn't been and calling here is not going to suddenly make this person show up.  If they don't live here, they don't live here.  If I don't know who they are, I'm not going to ever know who they are.  Geez when do these people take hints or listen when you give them information?

These people are either idiots or just don't give a s**t. They have called my house three times today....I have answered three times. Two I couldn't understand...please, if your Bank of America could you please hire someone who can speak friggin' English? The third told me my payment was late.....lets see...due the first, paid the first.....how is that late? Let's see what time they call for the fourth time.
