I just recently activated a new cell phone and haven't given the number to anyone.  This number has been calling me daily and they don't leave a message.  It appears as Chase on my caller ID.  I also recently opened a Chase account but never gave them this number, I use my home phone instead.

It may look like an official Chase contact, but it's definitely NOT them. It's either a debt collector - we have no debts - or a scam.
Block the number if possible. Definitely do NOT pick up and get into a discussion with them about you or your money.

SCAM CALL FROM “CHASE BANK” (it even shows in caller ID):  posing as Fraud related to ZELLE

Caller ID showed ‘Chase Bank’.   Live rep stated they were calling from JPMORGAN CHASE BANK, Fraud Dept, regarding ZELLE suspicious activity pending.   This was completely a SCAM call, although it looks like Chase - it is NOT - BEWARE!!

Hmmm.  Call back to the number gets a recording and representative identifying itself as Chase bank.  In addition, it IS the number listed on their website for mortgage assistance.

However, numbers can be spoofed and scammers are clever.  While it is important to thwart scammers efforts, it's also important to avoid fraud so it behooves you to call Chase bank using a published number to determine the validity of the call.  Personally, I don't understand why banks and CC companies don't simply leave messages telling you to call the number on your card or the published number.
