- DiniThey call my business at least 5 times a day, asking for a social security number and account number. Chase advises that they would NEVER ask for that kind of detail. Beware this is a scam!
- Caller: Chase
- DBI don't have a Chase account and I'm not giving my SSN to a recording. And no matter what you do, a live person never comes to the phone.
- Caller: Chase Bank
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JackI get 2 or 3 calls a day from this number. Each time I answer it's quiet then hangs up on me. I cant say who it is but I'm not sure how calling people and hanging up is profitable. Every phone call costs money so at least we can feel confidant that those of us who actually have Chase...if it is Chase (my bet is that it is) will be paying for it one way or another. Those people in the outsourced call centers may need some training on how to follow-through with a "contact". I'll post again if I find out for sure who it is.

- Eric in Berkeley, CACalled repeatedly but left no message. After revieiwing the reports on this web site, I answered the call. After answering the call, it took approximately 1 minute for a human caller to come on the line. The caller was Chase Bank's collections office. The Chase representative did not ask me for my social security number (nor would I have given it under any circumstances). Rather, he came out and asked me if I owned a property at such and such address, and if so, was I aware that the mortage payment due on November 15 (and late after November 30) was unpaid. As a matter of fact, I had forgotten to pay the mortage payment this month and I do not recall receiving the monthly payment statement/coupon. I made the mortgage payment today at a local Chase Bank branch (not over the phone by credit card or ACH/checking account number). Thanks to the call, I avoided owing a late payment penalty. Hope this helps.

- TerryThis is Chase Collections/Loss Mitigation Dept. I am a realtor and do short sales and this is the number that always shows up when Chase Short Sale Dept calls on one of my files. Been dealing with them for years on files. They will give a different number for me to call back on which is normally 877-419-6499, but the 800-848-9380 number is what comes up on my caller ID.

- gullibleI hope no one is falling for this scam! If so, I can't believe there are people falling for this scam! For those of you who say this is legit Chase collections........ PLEASE! These people can figure out a lavish phone scam system, but they can't figure out how to feed their country without blowing something up! Give me a break! It was great when I would get their calls. I would screw with them so much. But, alas, I have a new phone system which they can be blocked. Tisk, Tisk. For any of you scammers that want to call me, my number is 1-800-bite me. When you get to the prompt, punch in get-a-real-job-thief. Then you will be prompted to put in your fake ssn. After that, Look in your mailbox. The check should be there......................Not!
- Caller: Chase

- T replies to Hate Chase FinanceSo you gave them someone els'e SS# instead of just changing your phone number? Way to perpetuate identity theft.
- Randster replies to chadChad... Right On! I always wondered how these scams could possibly work. The reason, so many are DUMB MORONS. Just read this stuff!
Also, those that write back stating that this is Chase are also either DUMB MORONS or they're the scammers trying to convince the DUMB MORONS the number is real so they will continue to call back. - art| 1 replyThis is Chase Collections/Loss Mitigation Dept
