I got a completely garbled message from 800 955 9060 and could only catch "Chase" as part of the message. Rather than call that number, I called the one on the back of the card- as many here have suggested. Come to find out it WAS a legitimate call from Chase and my CC # had been compromised.

    (800) 955-9060 IS the number of Chase's fraud department, BUT the call itself (if you see NO CALLER ID) could be from a scammer. My advice would be, if you answer the call don't give out any information. Hang up and call Customer Service or the Fraud Department. I've provided a full explanation below regarding my experience.

I just got a call from "NO CALLER ID" and they left a message saying to call them at (800)-955-9060. I read through about 100 of these posts starting in 2008 to see if this was a scam, but I couldn't confirm yes or no. I called Chase customer service via the number on the back of my card to check for myself. I spoke with a representative named LaTonya and she verified that there was a block on my card and that the 800 number from the call I received was the number for their fraud department. BUT she COULD NOT confirm that the fraud department had called me.

    What I would say is:

DO NOT give any of your information to a phone number that calls you from a blocked ID. Maybe there is some service where scammers can check for blocks on cards or perhaps hackers have a way to find that information out. I don't really know, but all I had to do to unblock my card was to give LaTonya my phone number and read a code back to her when I received the text.

DO call Chase to check for fraudulent activity, because I did have a block on my card.

The call could very well be a scam, BUT the number (800)-955-9060 is the number of Chase's fraud department. Keep in mind that when you get a call from these people it isn't coming from (800) 955-9060.

If you answer, DO NOT provide any information. If you get the message, just call Chase Customer Service and check for fraudulent activity.

I re eived a call from this number and they left a message saying they were Chase fraud dept and that an Amazon card had been set up in my name and they werre trying to verify it. I called them back and they were from the Philippines and didn't sound educated to have my issue resolved so I didn't offer up my personal info and called Chase Credit Card Fraud Dept directly.  I gave them my information and found out there was an Amazon in formation optical systems breach and that a card had been opened in my name. I need to call Amazon and cancel the card, tell them of the fraudulent account opening and call the 3 credit bureaus to report my social as having fraudulent activity.

Got an unknown # calling left message to call 800-955-9060 back for Chase Fraud.  The call was legit (after confirming with Chase # from card) even though their reason for the call left me scratching my head!

I got a call from a fake chase AARP rep who is located in Manilla, phillipines, and he told me to call 1800 955 9060, so I asked him his full name so i can clarify when i call whether he is legit, he says his name is "paul garcia" and he is not able to disclose his address or what branch he is at.
SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL when receiving a call from a non-authorized credit card company. Please check your account (eg online), before giving out personal info. Plus most of the time if there is a suspicious activity on a credit card, the company/bank will email you first.

I was called too by this number (supposedly Chase Fraud Prevention) and asked to call back because someone had applied for a credit card under my name. I called and was asked for the last 4 digits of the card this was about. Since it was supposedly a new card, I didn't give them that info (I do have a card with them). Then they asked for my SSN, which of course I didn't give them. I hung up and called the number in my card and they couldn't find anything.

I just received a call from 1-800-955-9060 and it came across on my caller i.d as unknown caller, unknown number.  I was curious to see if there was a message and sure enough they said there was suspicious activity on my credit card.  I got my chase credit card out and called the number on the back and was directed to the fraud department and they told me it was a scam and that not to call that number.

Not fraud, this is a legitimate chase number. I got a call from chase at 18009359935 and the woman said to call 18009359060 regarding my card ending in -xxxx
This call had to do with a fraud alert on my card. I just verified BOTH numbers with Chase. BOTH are legitimate chase numbers. Carry on.

Do not reply to this number! It is a SCAM!
They want to steal your credit card number!
If you are worried about charges, dial the number on the back of your credit card or use the Chase app to find out about charges.

I got a call from 800-935-9935 claiming they were the Chase Fraud department. I asked for a call back number so I could verify and they gave me 800-955-9060. I ignored this number they gave me and called the number on the back of my Chase card. The rep confirmed the fraud department did reach out to me about fraudulent charges. So it turns out the call was legit. However, always call the number on the back of your card to confirm (just in case)

As a follow up, I received a voice mail saying I had fraudulent charges and that I should call this number and provide my credit card number. When I have called Chase, they never ask for my credit card number.
I looked online and I had no fraudulent charges.

This is a NOT a fraud number. This is CHASE Fraud team's number.
They did not ask for my last 4# of SSN. They knew my address, and had verified all other transactions.

A voice mail message was left on my cell phone claiming to be from Chase fraud protection services about verifying a few suspicious account activities.  The 800-955-9060# was the number I was instructed to call with my credit card # on hand.  Interestingly, the caller mentioned my full name and the last 4 digits of the account that he was calling about, but this was not my account #.  This immediately made me suspicious.  Caller ID suggested the call originated from Texas: 972-512-5500.  I called the number on the back of my Chase card and found that although the 800 # is a legitimate INternal number that Chase uses, there were no suspicious activities on my account, and no notes attached to my account indicating anyone had attempted to call me from Chase.  Customer service then patched me through to the fraud protection department and they said the same.  They looked to see if my cell number was associated with any other accounts, and could find none.  Chase then instructed that I block the 972# in case they tried calling again.

My conclusion is that this is indeed a scam somehow.  I suspect there is a way to reroute calls that you dial from your cell phone at least temporarily, so even if the 800-955 # is legitimate, your call would be routed to a scammers number. I think it would be safest to call the number on the back of the card, and from a phone other than the one that received the initial call.

I missed this call and they left this number in a voice mail. I thought it was suspicious because when they called the number was blocked and when they read of the last 4 of the credit card number they read back the last 4 of my SSN. I called chase directly and there was fraudulent activity on my account. Just call the back of your card if your uncomfortable.

Within minutes of verifying my number with uber, I get a call saying there is suspicious activity on my card and I should call this number to get to the fraud dept. You call and it is a recording that sounds legit, asks for you to enter the last 4 of the acct # which is what usually shows up on receipts, no secret there. I entered in the 4 and it said this number is not recognized, please enter the whole account number (ha yeah right!) I hung up and googled it. Please people don't ever give your full credit card number or social security number.

The call looks like it's coming from a valid phone number but the number they ask you to call back is a fraudulent number.  You sir, have no clue.
