I appear to have been duped into entering a FREE competition for an ipad.
I answered the questions and later received emails on my phone from this number saying I was entered into a draw @£4.50 per month until i sent STOP to 82288.
I did this and they later acknowledged my message but I keep getting calls from 82288 saying there are insufficient funds and to top up my phone.
I am afraid to top up my phone in case they take the funds from my prepaid phone, and am now in danger f having no credit to make calls.
    What can I do.

Warning to other potential victims.  I am not exactly sure how I managed to agree to something online that referred to a draw for something I would like but I am sure that I did not knowingly sign up to receiving charged texts on a weekly basis - when they came I just deleted them - so I was shocked when I saw the charges.  This sort of scam set up by unscrupulous companies should be made illegal.

My wife passed away in September last year and I have just seen my mobile bill.I find that I am paying £4.50 per week.I never joined any company of that name. Why are they allowed to get away with this and why have the Police not done something about it,It is extortion at best and in my mind fraudulent, what they are doing is theft by the back door. They should not be allowed to get away with this.I hardly use my mobile since my wife died, yet they are getting away scot free.I am 75 yet like all common criminals they use vulnerable people,Burn the director of the company I would pay to watch that.

As with most threads on this website, the answer is often readily available. In this case? Page 1. yes, the first page you come to! Incredible, I know, but true. Took me 14 seconds to find it. Gosh, how could so many people have missed it? Weird.... but "bob's" report of 20 June 2015 on Page 1, yes, the first page, has all the information you need to resolve your problem. Stop complaining, get on with it if you want your money back.
Oh, unlike PPI/bank charges reclaim/pension/green energy/solar panels/whiplash claims/windows (both replacement & virus malware installation) etc etc, there's no charge/fee for this guidance. It's a free to use help forum, just do a bit of research yourself instead of expressing so much angst and unrighteous indignation due to a mistake someone has made with your mobile.
Oh, and for future reference, do NOT ever, repeat EVER click thru T&Cs on any website offer w/out reading the "small print", then you'll stop firms like XINWIN in their tracks. But hey, why should you listen to sad little lonely me.

I too was scammed by Xinion fortunately I am on the ball concerning my phone account and bank account.
I entered a " free" competition concerning Aldi .....ALDI. Have got nothing whatsoever to do with this Scam.
After submitting my entry I immediately received a text saying that I had been entered into their competitions at a cost of £4.50 per week and to text STOP when I wished to cease.
    Naturally I text immediately.
I also called them as there was a phone number on the text and I was assured I would not be charged.....but alas they had taken the money already as I later found out.
When challenged regarding the "free" competition I was told that I had not read the terms and conditions!
I could not comprehend why there would have been any t&c's on a free competition and the attendant could not explain either.
I contacted my mobile provider and they have been excellent and have assured me that they will remove the charges.
I also contacted phone pay plus but they felt that no action was needed( they were not aware that my mobile provider were refunding the charges)
My advice...do not enter any free competitions and to remember that anything that sounds to good to be true .....will in fact not be true

Regular contributor Bob took the trouble to post all the info you need to stop these text messages on the 20th June 2015. All you have to do is read his post and then do something about it..... yourself! While you are at it, try reading the blurb at the top of the homepage and you will find out what this forum is all about including what it can do and what it can't do. Easy, no?
