SUBJECT : CEASE AND DESIST
Dear Sirs
RE: MOBILE NO.: [YOUR MOBILE NUMBER] UNSOLICITATED TEXT MESSAGES
I am writing in reference to unsolicited premium rate SMS messages that you are sending to my mobile phone.
I now require that you:
1. Delete all reference to my details from your database.
2. Supply me with information on how you acquired my mobile telephone number.
3. Re-pay all monies received as a consequence of these text messages.
The arbitrator Phone Pay Plus have been informed of this problem and will be taking action.
Their telephone number is: 0333 2020 481 - Gareth replies to Geoff| 2 repliesThe Telephone Number for XINION LTD is: 0333 2020 481
The email address: managercontact@customercaredepot.co.uk
I have posted a sample email on this site.
Send a copy your email to Phonepay Plus together with your postcode for reference.
If you get no reply from Xinion, you can then contact Phonepay Plus after a couple of days and refer to your email.
My phone number was obtained from an unknown source as I never enter competitions online, download games or ringtones. So, my advise never enter online competitions or surveys as there is no such thing as a free lunch!
I have been re-imbursed the £18 they fraudulently took from my phone account and as the phone is on a secure line no messages were ever delivered. Hopefully the police fraud department will take action against this company/person as in the last 12 months they have acquired close to £500k from this scam according to their returns at companies house. - pami clicked on link to do mystery shopping from 82288 scam imidiatly i have got in touch with vodaphone they have put a block on hope i was quick enough the phone numbers assosiates with it are dead lines

- p mackayOffer to win an ipad - only after suplying mobile number was information supplied re weekly charges I do not wish to subscribe but I understand that texting them to cancel is not effective
- D Platt| 1 replymy wife entered the "free" competition unsuspecting lay. Received text advising of agreement to receive one text per week at a £4.50 which of course she did not knowingly do.
Stop texts to 82288 were refused and Talkmobile would not help but gave us a number 03332020481 to call.
To my surprised my call was answered and faced with my threats to involve Phone Pay Plus they put a stop on our number but would not return the money already taken.
A little research shows that this scam has been known to the phone companies since 2012 when it was reported by the BBC. Most telcos seem to be willing to help their customers when informed but not Talk Mobile who will be losing our business when the contract runs out shortly.- Caller: Xinion

- JuCeeThis rotten scam company obtained my mobile number by deception, I certainly did not knowingly sign up to pay them £4.5 per text message received for the rest of my life!!!.
Unfortunately I did not read the text messages they sent me as I assumed they were spam. Then found out I had been billed twice for £4.50 a time for each text received! I have no idea which website or 'promotion' they got my number from but it is fraud.
Have complained to PhonepayPlus and requested to know why this company, Xinion Limited is still being allowed to operate.- Caller: Xinion Limited

- JuCee replies to GarethThanks for your information and excellent email sample which I have copied and sent to Xinion so hopefully will get a refund as well. Can't understand how this company is allowed to continue operating. Have also reported them to Phonpay Plus who must surely have many other reports about the company.

- Really? replies to waltonSo you want help but can't be bothered to read THIS page? Words fail me ....
- bob replies to GarethWhy?
As I am not from the USA I would not write pseudo US legalese even if I had occasion to do so....... which I do not, if you took the trouble to read previous posts properly. - ann replies to JAK| 1 replyHave just spent the last Hr on the phone to O2 to be told that they can do nothing about this. Have sent the text to stop this and had a reply to say that all texts would stop . But nothing about the £4.50 a week . Sat in tears at the moment not sure what to do and unwilling to use the phone. What a sad world we live in that people can do this.
- bob replies to annThe number for Phonepayplus is near the top of this thread. It is a service from OFCOM. Give them a call and see what they advise.
- PaulineI foolishly entered my mobile number into an offer I received after I downloaded an app onto my iPad. I immediately received a text notifying me I was being charged £4.50 weekly until I replied stop to 82288. I tried to send a message but it failed 3 times. I eventually managed to send a stop message. I called to complain but was advised I had agreed to the terms & conditions by sending my number. How is this legal? If you want to call them the number is 0333 202 7721
