The unsolicited 82288 scam requires blocking

This company charged me 4'50 a week and I did not subsribe

As you have not signed a contract there are no terms and conditions. If Xinion do not refund your money voluntarily your only recourse is to pursue them through the small debts court.

I have joined Tesco500 @ £4.50 per Week until I send Stop to 82288.

I managed to get all my money back from these guys. I contacted Trading Standards, Phonepayplus, BBC Watchdog, ICO and Ofcom. The company itself had taken money off my mother who is 86, has no email and only a phone for emergencies. she cannot send a text only call a contact in her book. They claoimed she had gone onto the internet and added all her info on to receive these texts. She didnt of course. I have full and lasting POA for her so by law she cannot enter into any agreement legally. They wouldnt accept this and said that their T&C's clearly ststae she is in a contract whether she is legally eligiable to sign into one. Trading Standards helped me get my money back plus the 5-10 calls i had to make to them each day. Phonepayplus are useless. They still msg my mother every single month even though i have stopped them with themselves, phonpayplus and vodafone. They are con artists desperate to get your money and will try and bypass any law so they do not refund you. EVERY PERSON IN THE UK GETS A 14 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD BY LAW! IF YOU RECEIVE A MSG FROM THEM, YOU HAVE 14 DAYS TO CONTACT THEM AND CANX, PERSONALLY I WOULD GO TO BANK AND CANX PHONE BILL PAYMENT AND WAIT TILL THEY CALL YOU. EXPLAIN THAT THE CHARGES ARE NOT CORRECT AND UNTIL THEY ARE REMOVED YOU WILL NOT PAY THE BILL THEN CONTACT TRADING STANDARDS

5 text messages revieved in the last month trying to get me to enter a £500 voucher competition - if you text stop, you get billed.  Email sent to mother company to get them to stop, and still got a message.  ICO informed, complaint filed.

I did the same and rang them 03332027722 and told them I want to come out as I did not want to pay a weekly sum for their competition and had I known before hand I wouldn't have bothered entering! I was told to just give them my mobile no. And they would take me off (but I didn't because I didn't trust them) did you manage to resolve the situation/trap!

Ring the above number, they will stop it immediately ...I've just done it

You've just rung & they've immediately stopped it? How so? Will take at least a week until you know "no more calls" being sent! You take us for mugs or what?

Like the others I entered a free competition for asda vouchers, and received a text from 82288 saying theybwere charging me £4.50 per week unless I sent a text saying stop to this number, afraid to do it as i will be charged for this text. Please can you cancel this for me? Thank you.

to put it as kindly as possible: "NO". what leads you to hope that a U.S. based information-sharing forum will have any interest or ability to correct your mistake in accepting T&Cs of a website you visited? so try reading information-sharing post immediately prior to your own. unless YOU take action, weekly charges will continue.

They gave me a web address to claim back the money when I called they need your number to get your details they then txt you the refund which you take to post office to get bk

My O2 Account call centre told me to TEXT   STOP  TO These numbers.    They found several numbers on my account which has taken money from my account.  Albeit only small amounts (90p).   I have text all the numbers provided by them and this 82288.    The assure me this will stop

Thanks for the info bob just emailed to try and get the number removed . Usually I wouldn't fall for such stupid scams so why I did this time I have no clue . Stupid moment obviously

I could not believe that I had run out of funds on my pay as you go phone.  When I looked at my account I found I had been paying £4.50 a week to a total of £99.  Fortunately Orange did help and I text (STOP ALL) to the number and this worked.  Also had a phone number so called and spoke with a youngish woman who would not tell me even where she was, no address but the phone number is 0333 2026452.  Totally disgusting and a real scam.

Please stop this company sending messages to this number and charging my account.
