It obviously didn't cross your mind to read previous posts on this subject, so you are probably beyond all help anyway.

I think this thread may have been invaded by zombies. The Undead are not exactly known for their piercing intelligence which would explain their strange inability to consult previous posts. Yep, it's the only rational explanation.

I have had the same problem. Got a message opened it and filled in first part. Was not aware they were taking £4.50 per week from my account until I got my bill. I did get more messages didn't open them as I was worried what the cost would be.
I contacted my phone company who put a bar on all premium rate numbers. Also contacted phonepayplus who are investigating it. Does seem as if no one can stop them. It might be an idea to share our individual experiences on social media, or write to Ann Robinson at watchdog to make as many people as possible aware of this awful scam before they get caught like we have. Anyone who doesn't want to be caught in this way should put a bar on ALL premium rate numbers.

This number sent me 4 texts through a subsidiary number 700046067 and charged me £3.75 per text via my mobile service provider. My service provider gave me their contact number which is 0333 202 7721 and when I spoke to them they  would not divulge how or why they were charging me except to say it was a "competition" I had entered which, frankly, is complete bullsh*t. They also told me that I would be charged £3.75 per week from then on, even though I had put a stop on their texting. My mobile service provider has refunded their charges (except the original 4 x 3.75 which had gone through already) and suggested I contact Phonepayplus to complain about this rip off company. I did so and hey presto! Phonepayplus found nothing wrong with these con artists and closed down my complaint within a few hours! Talk about helping us consumers from being conned. So there is no recourse as Phonepayplus is under the umbrella of Ofcom or should it be called Ofcon? If anyone can help, please do so! Details of Xinion Ltd to follow:-

payphoneplus is approved/authorised by Ofcon to mediate between consumers and these smart-alec con artists, have you complained to OfCom yet? if sending STOP doesn't work, difficult to see how they cannot support you (unless you not disclosed entire story) but thereafter, consider involving your MP, also better quality weekend newspapers who can often bring "influence" to bear, also BBC Watchdog/Rip-off Britain or Which? Depends how much time you able to spend but you need to decide whether worth recovering shortfall.

    ROBERT SMITH
Our sales director received a "Free Message" on his company mobile phone. "Reply PAD to 82288 to confirm your entry to iPAD." He texted "PAD" to 82288 and then received a second text offering a "FREE entry to win an iPad Mini" if he clicked on the http://xinFreeplay.xinwin.co/FREEPLAY website. He clicked on this site, read the terms and conditions on a separate page and then immediately texted STOP to 82288. Despite this we were charged £4.50 + 12p each (incl. VAT) for the 2 texts sent.

The first step to stopping this would be to read some, or all, of the other posts for this number.  Lots of them tell you a) who it is, b) who to complain to and c) how to stop it.

I did exactly same as you, and got exactly same reply from phonepayplus.  As I suggested in my last post perhaps if enough people write to Watchdog they will investigate and at least make other people aware. To ensure it doesn't happen to you again ask your phone co to put a bar on ALL premium rate numbers.

Just to update things, l reported the situation to Phonepayplus in July. They said they would investigate the matter. They recently contacted me that there was not enough evidence to go any further even though l was plainly charged the £4.50 and the same thing has happened to plenty of other people!
What a joke...makes me wonder what this organisation actually does to fill its time. Useless!!!
