It is not a scam this is a legitimate inmate phone service. If you received a call from this number that means someone you know got locked up and is trying to reach you

When we received a call from this number this evening, we recognized it as the Securus number our son used to call collect from jail (I agree it's so insanely expensive it sounds like a scam). The fact that the number is from a legitimate service says nothing about the caller's intentions. He/she could indeed be a scammer trying to get money. Since we didn't take the call, we'll never know. It's worth mentioning that Do Not Call registration doesn't apply to this number.

Phone rang twice now.  Saying from it's from a correction  facilitywanting to charge 1499 to  credit card, and 699 for every minute.

From an inmate in correctional facility,  those I'd my 11 yr old  child's phone I'm using for now. .but who would be  in jail that we knwill that would contact her for anything,   creepy if u ask me

Block this number and go to Police.

3am I got the same call . Called back and asked for me. At that time I answered not looking at number and thinking a family member was injured, or worse.

3 am I answer call thinking a family had been injured or worse. It was this correctional facility saying the same thing the others have said. A person did answer and I asked who it was, the person immediately hung up.

phone went to VM recording came on saying an inmate from a correctional institution is wanting you to accept a collect call..  It is definitely a scam call.  I am on the National Do Not Call List too.

Wow Rachel!   I'm not really stupid, but I would be if I gave my hard-earned money to someone in jail, especially if I don't know the person.  I've had this number for 3 years.  There is a scam from prisons and jails that trick people into giving personal information To Steal From Them.

If you get a call from this number try to answer it, IT MIGHT BE A LOVED ONE THAT'S IN JAIL AND NEEDS YOUR HELP TO BAIL HIM/HER OUT. It's not a scam,  it's someone in jail.

its no scam..... I though it was and blocked the #. then did a search, come to find out my brother was in jail. answer that call. someone close to you needs you.

even if you don't take the call atleast check your local arrest records. I'm telling you this call is from someone you know and they are in jail. ive been through this. its no scam.

You can block these numbers, I have do to an ex in jail I looked up how to do it online.

Got the same call but when you get a call from a correctional institution it lists the institution and the name of inmate. This number did neither. I've been to jail and gotten calls from jail before and when I set up my account on the phone all they ever asked for was my card number and name. Not my address, state I'm from, town, etc. this is a scam on REAL inmate calls.

I received this call 6 times today.  Never answered, obviously, because I don't know the number.  Message was always left, but it kind of started in the middle - started with "for only $14.99 for 10 minutes, press 1" and some other options.  I figured it was a scam and deleted the message.  After searching the number, I see it is a service for inmates to make collect calls.   Well, I do have a loved one incarcerated and I would have answered the call if I knew this what it was.  Apparently no one tells you that your loved one may use this service, so watch for this number.  So if you have a loved one in jail, and you receive a call from this number, answer it!!
