This # calls my cell phone at least once a day, sometimes 3 times.

I get these also, but I have a 21 year old nephew who is enjoying some prison time. It is a prison call. But, the inmate calling may have gotten the number screwed up somehow and mistakenly dialed your number.  People locked up only call their friends or family, so like I said, most likely an error.

SCAM!  Pay for minutes? Yea right.... My call didn't even mention who it was from.

What county is this

It's any correctional facility that has a contract with the company. It's not a scam. The inmate dialed the wrong number if you got a call and don't have a relative or friend in jail or prison.

Was inmate calling system . I have it blocked but they call every other day

I am receiving calls from this number on my cell phone. It has an automated message that states payment options to continue and accept the call. I do not want to receive calls from this number anymore.

Not a scam! This is your local jail.answer the call,a recording will tell you the name of person calling you.you may hang up at any time and Not be charged. It may be your child! Friend!

Or it might be your kidnapper, rapist, burglar, abusive partner, or Donald J Trump. You decide what's worse.

It is a company called Securus. They provide communications (phone. video etc.) for persons that are incarcerated either in your local jail or in prison. If you receive a call from them instead of hanging up, you might just want to at least hear the name of the person that is trying to contact you. It may be your husband, wife, son or daughter, it is easy to use and if your positive you do not want calls from Securus again (unless you owe them money), listen to the call then follow the prompts to have your number blocked. It blocks any inmate or incarcerated person from calling you from the Securus system.

This is not a scam call.  It is a company in texas that forwards inmate calls to you for around $9.99 a minute.  This money is charged to your cell phone bill, or a credit card if you please.  They contract with texas counties and the county recieves a portion of the money. Wait!! It is a scam!!

This is not a scam at all it's a services provided to inmates to make calls, I am a 19 year old girl who received multiple calls it was my boyfriend calling from jail. Please answer!! It is a loved one trying to call!

Wanted me to buy minutes for a 20 minute call. Didn't say from who.

I did receive the same phone call. Planning on calling Verizon and ask them to block this number. It is sad people are doing it

Securus may be a real inmate phone service (maybe) but the calls from this number are definitely a scam. When you go to the Securus website, this number is not even one they use as a contact number.  But even if it was a Securus number, when you use the real Securus, any money you put on an inmate's account becomes the property of the inmate.  They can use the phone time almost like currency in the jail (the way that cigarettes used to be jail currency).  So it might be a real inmate and it may even be from Securus but that doesn't mean you know the inmate and it doesn't mean you aren't being scammed.  A prisoner may be randomly dialing numbers.  If even one out of a hundred of us bite, they can make some real money to use as jail currency.  It turns out that jails are filled with dishonest people!  What a surprise!

And to show you that this number probably isn't even the real Securus, I'd like to point out that the real Securus doesn't provide services for any facilities in my state!!!  And yet I am getting calls from this number which are supposedly from a couple different jails in my state.  My wife is getting them too. Don't be fooled by people on this site who tell you it's legit.  Don't you love all of the scare tactics they are using? "It might be your wife or your boyfriend or your kid. Or maybe an inmate just misdialed.  Just accept the call to see who it is."  That's exactly what the scammers want you to do!  And the people telling you it's legit are part of the scam.  If you respond to the calls, you can kiss your money goodbye and no one you know will be in jail.  I'm calling B.S. on all of that.

Why would you be on a page called who calls me, if you know who calls you?  All these positive reviews of this number are confusing, because why did they decide to go to this page? It makes me wonder whether or not they're trying to save their brands face.

This is a number inmates use to make collect calls to family and friends... If you know someone in jail, it could be them.
