I recieved  a call from this number on my cell phone. I don;t know anyone is in jail.

The inmate phone service provider is Public Communications Services (PCS). This provider offers lower rates for families and friends of offenders receiving calls from different Dept Of Correction facilities
Prepaid collect accounts can be set up by family and friends directly through PCS by calling the customer service number: 1-888-288-9879.

DO NOT PRESS 7.  It will not block the call.  It allows the call to access to your line.

Twice now in 2 hours.  I don't know anyone in jail nor do I aspire to.

You say you live in St. Louis, well the Missouri Department of Corrections uses this number as it's correctional facility phone provider, so it is somebody in prison that is calling you, they prepaid from their own money, you are not getting called collect.

i got a call from this num and as i answered it said "enter ur 4 digit pin"
i know couple of ppl in jail but they call from way other numbers. never let me get past the 4 digit part

its actually a prision! call it back,in prison they cant call collect anymore they have to have calling cards. ppl add money to their account,saying that itll say "are u calling about ..... (ur # here) to add monmey to the calling thing

your cell company and actual phone have ways to block unwanted calls.  i have at&t and through the smart limits program you can have any number blocked from calling or texting you. You manage it yourself on-line or you can go into their store and tell them which numbers you want blocked. It's like an extra 4.99 a month but its worth it when crazy people call who you never gave your number to and are too challenged mentally to realize that if you don't pick up the first time, calling four more times is not going to change anything.  I received 5 calls from this number before i got time to block them :) and i never respond to a call that is not programed in my phone associated with a name of someone i already know.  May not be the best method if a family member did get in a bind and did something stupid but there are plenty more family members and friends for them to call!  They won't die because they can't get hold of me.

I got ten calls from this number last night and again today .. I didn't pick up because i don't know anyone in jail... Well my brother in law got popped for DUI last night and it was him trying to call my wife .. He called me from his cell phone when he got out of jail and told me it was him calling from jail..

In this case it was not a scam ..

So for all of you out there that think PCS or Public Communication Services is a Scam. They are not I know this because i work for them. I want you all out there to know that we are not a scam i have seen some people who do understand that we do not set the rates the Facilities do that. Yes there is a message saying that you need a prepaid acct to recieve calls but you can recieve collect call and debit (calls paid for by inmates) however all you have to do is simply accept the call dont agree to the prepaid call system and you can continue to get those collect calls we also will not allow you use more than $150 per month i know seem high but when you think about it if your rates are high it dont take long to get there i have had people tell me they used to pay over $15 per call so thats ten calls a month if you want to limit the amount you spend that is what the prepaid acct is for it also allows you to spend as much as you want i have a few friends who are in prison and i use the system myself. So for those of you out there just running your mouth like your smart you really arent, for those of you complaining about rates maybe you should just have some smarter friends and family members, as for those who recieve calls stating that they are recieving calls from someone in a DOC simply call the number and ask to put a secure block on your phone and they will help you with that. To get a live agent keep hitting 5 after you enter you Zip and the system will say that is an invalid response, but keep doing it and you will get an agent sorry for all the problems. Also if you get one from 18554662832 it is PCS but for the MI DOC and that does not include the county jails only the prison system... Peace

Its not a prank call or nothn diss company help you get n contact with someone n jail so every body please calm down

Geese people....have common sense.  1.  you should not accept a call like this to begin with unless  You set up the account yourself and its a friend or family member in jail.  2.  there are many many facilities that use this service for inmate calls.  3.  just because you block your number from a certain inmate 's id. number number doesn't mean another inmate won't call you for that person you blocked already.  
I know how it works as i am a California correctional officer.   and to the people who wonder why they r getting these calls and then realize its their loved one or friend who has been MIA for some time...really?  common sense...ok?

i went out and spent over100 bucks getting a prepaid card so i could put money on my cell phone and none of this was put on the phone my girl cant call and i get a [***] reording. its a con its a scam please lets put a stopp to this. all of us getting robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello my Family just got a phone call, telling them, that he was my friend and will send a car in the few days, my family call me and ask me if I knew about it, I told them I didn't give to no one there number, so please stop this person.
