no answer, but repeated calls

I verified through my credit union the number is legit. It isused by credit unions mine was MAX Federal.  I called the number back and they asked for basic info, birth date, name, last 4 of the ss.  They then asked me if I had made 4 various charges, which I had.

they called to check on two charges at the same gas station for two like amounts.  i said it's all good, and that was it.. no problemo .. peace

This is a legitimate call. You better answer them ASAP. If you do not trust them, you can call the number on the back of your credit card. They will transfer your call to the right office. I just got a call because my credit card information was stolen (>$3k). I wish the bad guy get caught!

I got a voicemail from this number but checked with my credit union before following through.  I had the credit union connect me directly to the service.  There was no problem with my account, but they had noted several larger purchases I had made in the course of a day and a half along with filling my gas tank at a station that automatically charges a larger purchase amount when you use your card then refunds the difference from what you pump.  According to the representative, something about this can look like a scammer swiping a card twice.  That, in conjunction with multiple larger than normal purchases, made their alert system trigger call.  Even though it seemed suspect, this is a legitimate service that is looking out for consumers.

It's legit. I called my bank because I lost my card and said this number. They said that the number works for them.

They called left a message stating they were my Bank and that I needed to contact them concerning charges to my account. -

This is legit. It is the company that handles fraud for Wescom Credit Union as well as other credit unions. With my phone number they were able to pull up recent transactions. They were concerned about a money transfer via Westernunion.com which was made by me.

I also got a call from this number. They were worried about suspcious activity on my visa card issued my a credit unit. I am pretty sure it's legit.

Received a call at 6:05PM (PDT) on 04/18/2010 from a woman, she said she was from our Credit union and wanted to get some information about unusual activity on our account.
My wife told her she was not from the bank and would not verify any information.
The caller got angry and said she needed the information (?).
My wife told her to remove our name for their suckers list and hung up.
We reported the call to our credit union the next morning.

This is not a scam. The first time they called, I ignored them because it seemed suspicious. They left a message wanting to verify my debit card info and some recent purchases. Then my debit card got turned off. Grocery shopping without a checkbook and a non-working debit card is very embarassing. Unfortunately, they usually call after my credit union is closed for the weekend so I learned the hard way not to ignore them. Every single time I shop at Sam's Club, it triggers a phone call to see if I am the one who made the grocery purchases. Even though it is my debit card, they ask for my husband and it drives him nuts (since he is the primary name on the credit union checking account.) He just lit up some poor young lady and then handed me the phone back to clean up the mess. She told me to let my credit union know I shop there regularly for gas and food so they won't trigger a red flag and have them call us every other Friday night.

I searched my credit union's website for this number and it did come up as the number for their security services.

This seems to be a legit business. They called to verify charges on my credit card, after I booked something with a European website. I will be calling my credit union just to double check

very legit phone number.  they showed irregular charges on my debit/visa card.  turns out the card was shut off, i wasnt home to get the call, but cleared it up once I got the message at home.  glad this was caught.  I know something is securely monitored like its supposed to be.

I received a call from this number telling me they were doing a routine check of my information to maintain my credit card.  I knew that my credit union (that issued the card) would not make that type of a call, so I did not respond.

These are legit people.  However it does startle me when I receive a phone call late at night.  We are always taught because Identity theft not to give out information.  The guy did not explain that much.  So I immediately called lost/stolen on the back of my card.  I expained what happened and he says that my CU contracts out to Falcon Fraud.  Which I actually thought the first guy from Falcon fraud said he was from Valcon Fraud.

Anyway my CU transferred me to Falcon and we were able to determine that the charges were legit.  In my case I had ordered something online and I had put the wrong expiration date in.  Poor merchant submitted it and it was declined, he tried again thinking something was off and then he called me back and we figured out what I had done wrong.

However this was flagged by Falcon and this was good.  About 7 years ago before my CU contracted to Falcon, someone took my cc number not the card, they made up a dummy card and charged several thousand dollars to several places.

So I will say your CU needs to communicate alot better to their customers on who these people are then customers like us would not be afraid.  The lady who I eventually talked to at Falcon completely understood  my fear and said she would have done exactly what I did.  Not talk to them, call my own CU and then let my CU transfer me to them.

It all worked out.

got a message that a credit union called 0n a routine security check on my mastercard / debit card to insure and interruped service on my account and ask me to please contact then......

This is definitely a legit number ... from our credit union.  I was on the phone with my daughter who was in DC, distraught that her wallet had been stolen, and received an incoming call from this number.  When I answered, it was a call on behalf of our credit union indicating there was odd activity with her card ... they asked for her specifically.  When I went online ... sure enough, someone had tried to use it 2x for almost $300.00.  They do a WONDERFUL job and I'm thankful for them.  The card is now inactive and cannot be used.  Definitely return their call ... or check your account!

I received a phone call fro 1-888-918-7313 to both my home and cell phone with the same message. They said that they were from my Credit Union's credit card security and asked me to call them back ASAP. I called my Credit Union first and they verified that there has been some suspected unauthorized activity and that was their legitimate phone#. Only then did I call that 888 # and resolve the problem.
