Also, as an afterthought, because this law firm is technically a collection agency NOT A LAW FIRM, they have to forward you a debt validation and don't listen to them when they tell you they don't have to.   They are operating as a collection agency NOT A LAW FIRM.

unless i didn't resolve the matter  right away ,, I would  be in court monday sued for way way way  more than i can bargain  for  like around 3100 plus from  revenue Canada  i don't owe them for anything!

hopefully he will be inverstigated and brought down to the full arm of the law!

very big scam

Got a call saying mr. klassen was a lawyer and i owe 694.00 to pay to royalbank account.The loan was from cash cash??? He called 3 times in 3 days now he has stopped. Please someone watch out for this creep.

Got a call from a "Mr. Klassen" at some Law firm in Toronto looking for the telphone number of one of my sisters regarding an urgent legal matter. Called the number and "Mr. Klassen" said I had 48hrs to get a hold of her to contact him or the matter was going to court. Glad I looked up this number on 411. I wonder how he got my number from my sisters name.

A Mr. Klassen called me and said that his clients, Blue Hog and Zippy Cash would be taking me to court for $3000 on a $600 pay day advance that I have already paid $400 repayment back on. He then went on to tell me that I could just pay $1271.20 tomorrow and gave me some account information. After speaking with a lawyer here at the company I work with he said not to pay anything into a bank account unknowingly but when I called him back to tell him that I wanted them to do what they had to do and I would take my proof of payments to court, he said they would be calling the local authorities as he had already given me his client's account information. I don't know what to think?!?!?!

i received a message at work and my cell phone saying its a law firm and gave me a legal file number, his name was mr. sargent, also called my step mom and said i used her as a referance and that it was a legal matter from a law office and asked her a few questions but did not ask for my phone number. i never use my step mother for a reference for anything. i called the number back, no answering machine to leave a message. he did not say what it was for or what i owed.

We had the same call.  My wife was told to call "Mr. David" ASAP.

I did not think it sounded right.  The message said he was a lawyer from Toronto.

It was fishy so I looked up the # and found a ton of sites on the Internet saying this is a SCAM.

They call your references and try to scare them too.  We are going to report them ASAP.

I have never received a phone call from this company however, I do know someone that recently has been receiving these ridiculous phone calls. First off, a law firm would never speak to you in this regard. They are far more grammatical and "politically correct" than these uneducated biligerants. I find it quite commical that they claim to be a law office. Technically, it's not illegal however it is very laughable that they need to call themselves this to feel dignified. When in actually, they are simply a group of people working for a collection agency on behalf of different companies. I would even suggest they make minimum wage and get a kick out of threating people in which they have no idea of their personal circumstances.

My suggestion (as one that is legally educated) is to let your family members know who these people actually are (to bring some ease to older parents that are worried that you are in serious criminal trouble, alligations etc) and just re-assure them that this company is quite simply a joke. You do have debt that is owed. Go to the source, not a branch go to the head office and determine your reference number, and outstanding settlement balance. The actual money order will be written to the company that you owe money to.

Try not to worry about threats of this nature. Again, it is commical that these people suggest that outstanding debt is "fraud". Fraud is falsification,  the specific legal definition varies by legal jurisdiction. Fraud is a crime, and is also a civil law violation. Many hoaxes are fraudulent, although those not made for personal gain are not technically frauds.

Ask for all documentation for these expected amounts to be sent to you via mail, photocopy these documents. If they in fact get sent.

It's not a scam. It's a collection agency calling you to collect past due payday loans you failed to re-pay. Pay them back or they will take your pay cheque! Don't get payday loans if you can't afford to pay it back! It's simple!

My friend is also on his list.  He has been calling her friends and her work .. the only connection the group of us have is through being her Friends on a popular website we may all belong to.

These people are sarcastic and extremely threatening.
They are not lawyers but threaten to take you to court and sue you.
Mr Klassen told me that I owe 952.00 and this had to be paid by the next day
i asked if there was some arrangement that could be made but said no all by tomorrow or else.
I will wait and see what happens.When I phone the companies he represents they say they no longer have my file,but will not tell me who they sent it to.

Im confused I paid this company "law firm" through my lawyer he sent them a certified funds on my behalf and the matter has been resolve my lawyer reaserched this place and sure enuff they are legit Im not sure what this web site is about or who came up with this....

I got a call from a MR. Hazel but i didnt answer, the second time he called me he left me a message saying i have 24 hours to contact him with the name of a lawyer who was going to represent me in court for charges laid against me..i do not owe anyone money and dont see why anyway would file charges against me. He said that i have not returned any documentation, which is surprising because he never sent me any documentation. anyway im soo relieved to read all this, i was really having a heart attack!! thanks guy, i really wana stop this guy because what hes doing is not right.

i recieved a call from them friday, was told that i owe 900 and if i dont pay ill be served with a subpeona on monday.. well guess what its wednesday and still no papers. hmm.. i also called the cash store and the lady i spoke with is accepting my payments to pay off my loan. do not pay these people just pay whom ever you borrowed from. and if you didnt borrow.. some one may have used you as a reference

Just to let everyone know, I have posted on this forum as well as other forums, in repsect to the conduct of Mr. Kupferstein's office and staff, and Ihave been retained by two parties so far to commence civil action against Mr. Kupferstein's practice.

I am licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada, and all of the right not be harassed and threatened by people suchas Mr. Kupferstein's minions.

dont respond to them, their info is most of the time outdated. if they cant contact you then they cant speak to you. you know what you owe the company, when the police and balif try to serve you they wont have a correct address, so they cant, so they will start an ivestigation, they will contact your friends, family and workplace, if your not a bumb with no job. when your accompanied to court by police, call your lawyer. He will represent you in court, they have documents from client and in come cases video surveillence tapes of loan. you lawyer will recommend you plead gulity. there are no lesser charges. lawsuit amount is in effect. judge will assign payment plan in clients favour. trust me its better then paying those [***] what you owe

yea I read this site to but my father is a lawyer and he checked the upper canada law society and they are a registerd law firm I thot I had paid my loan off but I requested back up documents which were provided and I just paid my bill here is the site were you can actually confirm who these people are and that they are infact a law firm hope this helps:
