I tried to pay some of the amount in the same office i took out the loan, (they called the law office and they said not too take my money??), i simply said i don't trust them and i wish to ensure the payment i make goes directly to the company which i borrowed it from.. anyway, i am going to make a payment today and very much would like to make it with the cash store in which i took out the loan..man..i have no slept in a week, my stomach hurts....i'm edgyy.

someone will take my money today..

thanks to all of you for posting on this site I to owed money but for sum reason listend to you all on here so I chose not to pay, but im sure like all of you at the time I was looking for away not to pay my bill, now my wages are being garnished and for more then I owe after going to court....If neone reads this and they know they owe the money do your self a favor and pay what you owe....unbeleivable

Just like most people on this forum, I too owed money for a payday loan that i took out. I received phone calls from this law office about the situation and I decided to do as much research into the matter as I could.

Altough i am very upset at the matter, i knew that i was in the wrong because i owed money. I didnt like dealing with the law office, because i simply was annoyed by the entire situation and by my actions. So i decided to resolve the matter with the company directly by paying them what i owed and that was the end of it. If you pay the company that you the owe money to, there is nothing that the law office can do and you dont have to continue to listen to what they have to say.

Trust me, if you want this sitaution to go as smoothly as possible and with the least amount of stress on you, just deal with the company who you owe moeny to directly.

I dont know exactly what the law office can do because im not a lawyer or have been involved in this type of a sitaution before. But i do know that they can get the money back through some type of a garnishment through the courts. So instead of dealing with something that would probably cost me more money and would eventually take up more of my time, I just paid what i rightfully owed.

At least I know that i didnt let these idiots get the best of me, that my name is clear, and i dont owe any money to any of the payday loan companies.

mr.david called me today asking for 1800.00 dollars and to deposiit it directly into his account within 24 hours or i will be charged with fraud and taken to court. has anybody elese had this problem. and can anybody please let me know if any body has received any papaers from them and been taken to court.as i read all the stories no one has actually said they were taken to court.are they actually lawyers or a collection office.

just talking to mr. david at the law office when i asked him for his adress because i wanted to send a certified cheque that can be traces to the person chashing the cheque he then informed me he didnt want to deal with me anymore and for me to deal with the cash store or the head office and it was only 12 hours ago mr david told me i wasnt aloud to dael with the cash store but quickly changed his mind when i asked for things to go on the ceritifed cheque.and i had a lawyer coming to se him .hope this helps somrone elese who is bothers someone elese because this is very stressful.mr david also admitted that he is not a lawyer he is an associatte with the company.

I have had many telephone calls and e-mails from various people who have been harassed and threatened by Paul Kupferstein's Law Office and his monions, and I thank you all very much.

Again, as Mr. Kupferstein is responsible for his staff's conduct, and as his staff are violating not only the Rules of Professional Conduct, but also the Criminal Code of Canada, and he is responsible for any damages you may have suffered.

Mr. Kupferstein's staff is not allowed to call your employer, your friends, your neighbours, your relatives, your parents or grandparents in order to collect this debt.

If Mr. Kupferstein's staff does this, you can sue them.

My firm would be most agreeable to being retained by anyone who want to sue Paul Kupferstein for harassment and damages.

I bill my time at $150.00 per hour, and I request a retainer up front of $500 plus 5% GST, and I look after all steps of the action.

The limit in Small Claims Court in Ontario is $10 000, but on 1 January 2010, that limit rises to $25 000.

And Mr. Kupferstein is not going to be thrilled about any matter such as this get in front of a judge.

I recieved a phone call on monday the 26th of OCT. 2009 from Mr. Hazel.  Evidently, my name and number were recorded as a reference for a friend of mine.  The name and number which appeared on my cell phone were The Law Office, 905 474 3535.  I had no idea I was used as a reference and my friend denies ever using my name or number for anything other then a job application.

Mr. Hazel specializes in deception.  First off his name is not really Mr. Hazel.  I find that extremely annoying.  Mr. Hazel called my cell phone and the very first words out of his mouth were a lie.  The law office is categorized as a law office however, the primary function of this business is debt collection.  That was lie number 2. Mr. Hazel then proceeded to tell me it was important that my friend be made aware of an important legal matter.  That would be lie number 3.  There is no legal matter but there may be a debt.  I don`t know my friends financial situation.  Mr. Hazel then requested I provided my friends phone number and address so that he may contact him regarding this very important legal matter.  That was lie number 4.  I asked Mr. Hazel how it would be that he has an open Legal File with my name as a reference but no information regarding the actual ``client``.  He told me that it happens sometimes and that he wasn`t able to elaborate further because it was a private matter.  Lie number 5.

I told Mr. Hazel i wouldn`t be giving out my friends information but that I would pass along the message to my friend, which I did.

On Oct. 28th I recieved a follow up call from Mr. Hazel asking if I had heard from my friend.  I told Mr. Hazel I was able to reach him and deliver the message.  Mr. Hazel let out a loud sigh* and said that unfortunately my friend still has not been in contact with him.  I asked again what the problem was.  Mr. Hazel again stated it was a private legal matter.  I asked how my name got on the file and my question was ignored.  I told Mr. Hazel i cannot give out my friends information and he said ``I understand``.  Mr. Hazel attempted to get me to contact my friend again on his behalf.  At this point I stopped Mr. Hazel and told him how he has called me twice regarding an urgent matter which is not mine and lied to me about 5 times.  He asked what he lied about.. as if he didn`t know already.  I told him he is not calling regarding a legal matter that he is acting on behalf of a collections agency.  I also told him he worked with Mr. David and Mr. Sargent.  He asked how I knew this information and then attempted to reference me to a website I could verify what he was saying but I interupted him and told him not to call my cell phone anymore.

I owe no debts and no money to anyone.  I am annoyed and insulted that a collections agency would call my cell phone regarding the debt of someone else, under the pretence of the call being for an important legal matter.  Further more, the agent acting on behalf of the Law office lied several times and while that very well may be his job, lying to an innocent person is wrong.  How would you feel to recieve a call where the purpose is to concern you about a friends well being and then to find out that it was all a lie and that this caller was really trying to get you to incriminate your friend.  It is very upsetting.

I got a call today, he mentioned another loan that I had paid out so it sounded legit. I even call the PDL company and they said my loan had been referred elsewhere and gave me the Mr. david number. So now I think it is legit...is this a law office??

Received a call from a Mr. Hazel today. He claimed to be a lawyer and asked for my daughter's phone no. I didn't give it to him ,thank goodness. He said my daughter gave him my name for a reference and that I needed to give him her phone no. I figure anyone that was in that close contact with her should know her proper last name as that changed over five years ago.  My son called that number four times and got a response by four different people. If I hadn't searched forthis number I never would have found out about this scam.

I too recieved this same call from Mr.Hazel demanding money!!!I have check the law satutes in Ontario and fraud is defined as "knowing or intent to give false information to commit theft"
I also believe that it is an offence to pass as a lawyer when you are not registered in the province with the Law Society of Upper Canada.
My advice is that when you call him back you ask him if you can tape your conversation(even if you don't or can't.
My lawyer has told me to bring civil litegation regarding anyfinancial matteres including seziure of goods the you must be made aware of this with prior notice so you may defend yourself.

I also got a call at work, told me I would be served papers at work tomorrow if I didnt pay one of those payday loans, it was from years ago. He told me I was being charged for fraud & being sued for over $2000.00.

they are all scammers and they wont go away i have been dealing with the for three months I called fbi,ftc local infocements and nobody can really do anything just dont give them any money keep an eye on your credit reports anything change report it right away.

I had a message yesterday( actually about 3 in total of a week) about this Mr. David and a case# and that I in trouble with the law and that it was imperative that i called him back otherwise i would go to court. 905 474 3535 was the number they were calling from, he said it was the laywers office. He was very agressive and intimidating. my mother heard the message because they did call her to asking if i was there so very worried she calls me and asks what have i done to have a lawsuit against me??? very worried i googled the number before i called the next day and i found out this is a scam, so thank you to all of you. I havent bothered calling them back but i will record the conversation and take it to RCMP. i actually filled a police report today about this and the officer told me that unless i get somebody from that office to come to my door and collect the money they cannot arrest him and this is not the first time somebody has filed a report. the officers seemed to know the pattern of this problem. The officer said that i would have to cooperate and somehow get them to my door thats the only way....which is to bad. But i will think of something and will let everyone know.

I received this call too.  From MR.DAVID.  I would have worried all weekend as he DID sound official and knew an awful lot about the debt that I did have and my friends and family.  He called them too.  Threatened to charge me with fraud, garnish wages and freeze bank accounts, take me to court etc. etc.  like I said, I had no reason to suspect it was a scam.  He even went so far as to say that I was no longer allowed to call or deal with the creditor directly!!!!  It was intimidating and a bit scary knowing they can get this information (including my UN PUBLISHED number that the creditor doesn't even have!!!)  I googled the phone number to see if I could get an address and all this came up!!    THANK YOU, THANK YOU everyone who posted.  Saved me a lot of heartache!!

Ya i got the call, but i called him on it i lead him on for a while it was dam funny when i started retaliation questions about them and he could not answer them. I called RCMP and i am the 60,000 to call on this same person i gave them his address that was on a public site to see and the RCMP said any sort of documents come from these people to copy them and or shred them nothing will happen that came rite from the RCMP officer call them yourself it's simple!!!!!!

Same thing a money store said they forwarded it to their lawyer for the $100 I owed them they have cost me over $2000 in NSF charges. Told them when they pay me I would pay them. Do not listen to these people I looked up the number and found this site. You do not have to pay.

I have read all this and nobody have said if charges were laid against anyone here or if legal papers came????????????????????

I just got a call today from a Mr. David and my father googled the number and thank you all for posting or I would still be freaking out right now.

Report these people to the Ministry Of Consumer Affairs....if you do NOTHING they will persist in harrassing others...they are the stuff you scrape off the bottom of your foot.
