Report a phone call from 001922420057 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Brian KeatingAs your previous victims reported, I dialled 1471 to get the caller ID, but on dialling 01922 420057 I got a "corporate and professional sounding" recorded message to the effect that "we could not connect you and will try later"
This was today (6th March 2009 at 12:38pm) so the problem is still alive and kicking. I'd like to think that it is a minor irritation as are all calls of this type, but in view of the many other people being persistently inconvenienced, possibly shift workers like me, it is about time BT as the telephone network owner should have the power to warn and ultimately to disconnect this and all other nuisance callers and to bar them from owning a telephone number. If BT already has such powers it is about time they used them or be forced out of business. Anyone agree? - sueMy mother who is in her 80's has had 4 calls today and no one there when she answers. The calls have left her very frightened so much so i have had to stay with her. When i have rang the number it just says you were called by homeserve.

- SootytailpipesI too have been harrassed by this number calling over the past two weeks or so. Exactly the same as the poor souls above. I live Isle of Anglesey and so therefore nowhere near Severn Trent Water.
We appear to be a community and should work together to block their phone lines but then that is almost as bad as them.
regards to you all

Have just found this Site via Google... How interesting..!
I have also received about a dozen nuiscance calls of this sort from this Walsall(UK) Number... I also subscribe to 'TPS' (the Telephone Preference Service) available in the UK (and elsewhere?) which allows telephone subscribers to 'decline' unsolicited 'marketing calls'. This is an Industry 'self policing' system whose 'code of practice' this company may be voiolating...
As a former professional in Data Comms, Telecoms, Computers and IT Information Systems I shall be considering what 'rocket' to launch in the direction of the Company.
Good luck to The World out there... and Thank You "whocallsme.com".
Regards, VinceH
P.S.: I don't use e.mail because I am a 'former' 'internet' 'expert'!
VH - HollowI just got this number calling too. I don't know who it was.
- Pammy BaxThis number must have called my house about 20 times yesterday. The last one being at 9pm, I have a 1 year old and surprised she didn't wake up. I'm tempted to blow a whistle down the phone, that's guaranteed to stop them!

- CharlieHad a call from this number, after I said 'Hello' four times a male asked for my partner, I stated that he was at work, could I help, he said he would try later and slammed the phone down.
Worried that this may be a scam googled Homeserve and gave them a call on a free phone number listed on the website.
Spoke with a very polite young man who informs me that this is a genuine Homeserve call centre number. When I explained my annoyance it seemed to fall on deaf ears. There is a freephone number on their website for complaints but as with all numbers you still have to go through an automated service of inane choices.- Caller: Homeserve
- Alison BNusiance Call please barr this number. Totally fed up with this now.
- Caller: Homeserve
- DarrenThis number is on my missed calls every day, sometimes numerous times. Upon reading other comments I sent the following to Homeserve:
For the past month every evening when I return from work I have a missed call, sometimes several times a day from your company. Please remove my telephone number from your sales teams records otherwise I will revoke my payments to your company. If I want further custom I will contact you, not the other way round.
Thanks- Caller: homeserve
- SatisI was getting these calls every day. I do have a Homeserve policy.
I wrote an email to customerrelations@homeserve.com last week, and today I've received an extremely polite letter apologising. It says my name has been removed from their telesales list, but admits it might take six weeks for this to take effect. However I don't seem to have had any calls for a couple of days.
They also give a direct number to follow up my complaint if necessary.
Worth trying.- Caller: Homeserve
- GubbinHomeserve is a legitimate insurance company as noted in previous posts. It is the affinity partner of many water/boiler companies nationwide (a separate company in its own right). Calls (as also noted in previous posts) are made by an automated dialler system which is often already automatically dialling your number before the agent has got to that call which often explains why you may get 'unintentional' silent calls. It is often the case that as soon as an agent picks up the call off the automated system that someone can be heard at their wits' end slamming down the phone (this is not the fault of the agent but of a dialler system that is on its last legs and is due to be replaced shortly).
Also, the company has a policy of letting the phone ring for a maximum of four rings before the call is dispositioned (noted) as 'answer machine'). The dialler will then automatically reschedule for a later call.
Another particular annoyance is when speaking to someone other than the named account holder of the water board or other affiliated company. Agents are limited in certain cases to discuss matters with anyone other than the account holder for Data Protection (DPA) reasons. When people specifically request for an evening call to be made (if they don't mind being called) the system is poor in scheduling a call-back for that specific time and will reallocate, seemingly at random, often resulting in numerous annoying calls.
The best recommendation to put an end to these calls is to either ask the agent to take your details off the telesales list and/or mailing list or call 0800 783 0951 and ask them to action this immediately as just described. - Anthony MartinReceived a call today that rang off just as I got to it. Wasted my time phoning 1471 to discover it was "Homeserve" whose recorded message promised to ring again but didn't. It was annoying to me and my elderly parents.
