Got same text, I cancelled my membership with Fitness First ~2 months ago.  Obviously I cancelled my direct debit at the same time.  I've moved house etc and won't be calling them back, but was just wondering if this is likely to get me a black mark next to my name when applying for credit etc in the future?

This agency now also being used by Fitness First I believe....

I've just had one too, but this was asking for somebody else to call them. One of my "friends". He's clearly put my number down as his contact number. Not going to be happy if they keep chasing me for his debt

I just received a text and thought it was a scam with a premium number so looked up the net and found this forum. Thats good news but the bad news is - I must owe some money to someone, but don't know what for!

I'm ignoring it. They have my address. They obviously have my mobile number so they can bl00dy phone me and explain!

I wonder if anyone could find David Shaw's home telephone number in Basingstoke? Or perhaps mobile number/ address?

Yeah we could all spam him with texts! I got the same message and found this forum. I think it relates to my Fitness First membership that I cancelled LAST YEAR. They have been taking direct debits since and when I realised and stopped it I also sent them copies of my cancellation letter and email, and plan to actually take them to the small claims court for the £525 they owe me. Maybe I'll engage David Shaw :-)

I received a message today but although I have a payment outstanding with Fitness First I have had no messages or voicemails from them! I also called the number and got cut off 4 times!

Also had a text from David Shaw. I am also in dispute with Fitness First at the moment. I showed Fitness First the text and asked them if it was them and they said no. Dont know what to think now, but I definitely will not be calling this number.

Got a text asking me to contact a Mr David Shaw URGENTLY, I've never heard of him before, why would I want to ring him off the back of a text message?
Glad I googled the number, looks like I'm not the only one Mr David Shaw wants to talk to! I can't even think what it could be about and I'm not about to ring and find out! If I owe anyone anything they can ring me!

just had a text from this number asking me to call david shaw.. i did have a love film account and they email me everyday dont owe them any money and dont have any of thir dvds. will go straight to love film when i get home tonight!!!

I got this text, (i thought it was work) when i rang and quoted the number, the nonce on the other end seemed to take his time then suddenly the phone hung up... then i found out they charged me £2.00 for the phone call on my pay-as-you-go credit.

Then i checked the internet an found this forum.. what a scam.

I dont owe anyone any money as far as i know. I dont think there a collection company i think they just find out those who owe money an try an make money from callin them up...

Has anyone sent a complaint to there phone provider yet warning about this?

I believe my 'David Shaw' text is linked to C.A.R.S (a debt collection agency) who assume that I owe a small amount of money to for a renewed insurance policy which was issued against my wishes.

C.A.R.S; "We say you owe us this so pay up or I'll be around your house"
Me; "F*ck off and chase someone that actually owes you money"

Budget Insurance waivered the debt against me, that i never had in the first place, but CARS have sent a letter stating they are making a home visit. I am quiet rural so good luck to them.
I have a letter stating the bill has been waivered, accompanied by my MPs letter also.
I wonder if the Agent from CARS likes Dogs.....?
