Hot on the heels of an unsolicited call from E Car Insurance this morning, came this further unwelcome contact from Swinton Insurance.

This showed up on my caller display phone as Spam10 as it has been a previous source of nuisance, and subject to an exchange of email correspondence in which they promised not to call me again.

So today I've emailed the Chief Exec of Swinton, Peter Halpin at his personal email address:

Suggest all you guys do likewise if their nuisance calls continue. The lady at their call centre was adamant she could not disclose personal email details and this became subject to a heated exchanged when I advised her that it was alright for them to bother us though on our personal phone numbers....

She then informed me that she was likewise sick of being woken up at 0300hrs by an International call, and erm somehow I ended up with Halpin's personal email.... Thanks lady!

Been called by these for about a year on and off, sometimes they get bored and stop for a while, lately theyve been calling 3 times daily, so iv started answering and letting them talk to my back pocket in close proximity to my rear!

Not sure if it is actually Swinton or from reading the posts and experiences of others on here whether its someone out to collect and steal your details. Think i'll talk to them nextime and see what I can find.

I've added this number to my contacts as 'IGNORE' then set my phone to divert these calls to voicemail.  (they always call the mobile, the landline is never given out if i can help it!)

Annoyingly, despite this they have managed to just call me without it hitting the voicemail - worth tyring if you have a phone which works, mine is obviously kak but the idea is there..!

being plagued both on home phone & mobile - if i want insurance I'LL CALL THEM!

have a policy with swinton. don't want anything else from them, though. any online comparison sites will sell details collected on to other companies without the choice to opt out.

I have just recived a a voicemail from this number.
I have looked up the code & it would appear to be a Halifax, Yorkshire Code.
Subject was career opportunity.  
After ringing landline, they rang my mobile within 5 seconds.

After reading this site, I am now unsure how to proceed.

If you call the number you are quite politely told it is Swinton Colonade and they will call back later. If you do not want any further calls then dial 01274838111.

hi got this number on my mobile don,t know how they got it or who they are sent them a text to ask them who they are but not replied to me. rang me today at 17.21

This was swinton cold calling to try and sell extra accidental insurance. They called multiple times before i actually answered, but as i wasnt interested etc didnt try to push a sale.

Although this seems to be a UK landline the caller has great difficulty speaking English.
Sounded like the Windows problem scam.

i took out a car policy with swinton and it was the worst thing i have ever done i paid it off within 3 weeks of taking it out i had threatening letters off them for three months later, and then the phone calls started to my home phone number- i have told them never to call again, i have slammed the phone on them i have told them that i will cancel my policy and ask for my money back if they don't stop and yet again today another call the number is 01422249611   they are making my life hell please don't take a policy with swinton as they are all obvious deaf or stupid

Yep consistently ring ring here too. Must a boring company to work for if hassling households with no messages to reply too.

Had a few calls from this number to my UK Skype number, I don't pick up.

got called by this number, it is swinto insurance, i have nothing to do with them and they called me asking for someone else, its a little bit annoying and to be fair i would ever use them anyway
