- Law| 1 replyJust got a call from this number... picked up, silence on the line. Starting to get more and more annoyed with these types of calls.
- LawAnd within half an hour I get another call from the number, this time with a crackly message about how they are British Gas and would like to speak to me about my account, and can I ring them on an 0845 number. The bloody cheek. I will be reporting this to the TPS I think.

- claire| 1 replyphoned twice today i answered the first time and they put the phone down on me after 3 secs. I'm not even a british gas customer!! so if it is british gas god knows where they got my mobile number from!!
- ClaireI have had numerous calls from british gas too! It's from an indian call centre-even though I've paid my final bill I am still getting calls from them, so when they called AGAIN I told them I'd paid, they'd confrmed they had recived my payment, so I asked them why they were calling me-apparently to say thank you for the payment?! I told them to leave me alone as it is harrassing and hung up!!

- sarahJust put a brand new sim card in my phone and the first call I recieved was from 01613326130. I have not put any credit on this sim card and never made a phone call and not given anyone this number so how have they got it!!!!!!
- durrsI'm been in my property for less than an month and this number is calling me, i called back and it was BG collections service (I didn't even know who my supplier was let alone receive a bill)!

I have no outstanding monies owing to British Gas!!!
Calls come as late as 11pm claiming outstanding balance.
They INSISTING AMOUNT MUST BE PAID & DEMAND CREDIT CARD DETAILS
Same type of call also shows as international, sound Asian in origin.
They appear to have basic account details but will not give any information of the outstanding balance and refuse to provide confirmation in writing. They refuse to give any evidence of being able to view previous bills or payments.
I changed from British Gas several months ago to another more competitive company for my electricity. Since then this number has been calling about 10 times a week.
Many times the caller is silent.
I have been advised that it is not possible to stop these calls from coming. BG were given my mobile but never my land line. My land line is withheld when ever I call out and is ex-directory. How they got it is anyone's guess. The calls from abroad are Asian in origin and can not be blocked.- Caller: British Gas
- Ian Norman| 2 repliesThis will make you laugh but may also explain why it is happening, well partially at least. Three and a half years ago I bought a house. The guy I bought it from had converted it from two flats back into one property. I am still getting phone calls about debt associated with Flat 1, Flat 2 upstairs and recently Flat 2 downstairs as well. One bill is in excess of £1,000. British Gas are inept. You can imagine the number of phone calls I've had to deal with over the three years they have been hassling me. I have also had two rounds of letters threatening to send the bailiffs round. Even though I know I'm in the clear it is still very distressing to be hounded in this way. And what makes it worse, because the account is considered in arrears, I cannot move to a different supplier. Anyway, to cut a long story short... The people at the British Gas collections service cannot look at your account details until they are on the phone to you. So what they are probably doing is phoning you up, reading the notes, then realising that they have the wrong number or the wrong person or the account is not really in arrears. So they hang up. The department that deals with these types of mistakes is understaffed and overworked. So until you get the account closed, suspended, corrected or moved from the bad debtors list they will continue to harass you. Tell all your family, friends and neighbours to boycott British Gas.

- ArtyHad 2 calls from them today. I missed the first but answered the second. After a brief pause they asked to speak to, wait for it, Mr Ping Pong. Is this some sort of joke to them? I've emailed Peter Metcalf giving the details above.
My other half has been phoned by them a couple of times in the last month as well. We aren't British Gas customers and have never given them our mobile number.- Caller: British Gas
- Annoyed| 1 replyRecorded message saying that they're British Gas. I have received similar calls and text messages from several different numbers and all of them from "British Gas." This number is the latest one. I have stored all numbers on my phone and named them "Don't Answer!"
