I too have several of these calls a day!  i am NOT a British Gas consumer and nor would i be if thats how they treat customers ... BRITISH GAS LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't call this number back as it could be premium rate that you're paying. It may not be British gas but a complete scam. I think its an automated computer system that rings our phones and then the hope is that we ring them back. That is probably how they are making money.

Trying to gather information for debt chasers. Ignore them.

I keep getting calls from this number and no one there i dont know any one with this number

Hi,
I was chased for an outstanding payment (due to British Gas) from this number at the weekend. Much to my relief, this is actually genuine. If you google 'British Gas Did We Call You', and enter the number, it will confirm its legit. I've since had it verified by their customer support service, and the payment I made has been deducted from my bill.

Rings and goes off, no voice, just harassment, happens all day. If I did that to someone who owed me money I'd be arrested.

I have wrote to BRITISH GAS asking them to stop the calls three weeks ago, they take no notice THEY HAVE JUST PHONED AGAIN !!!!  to make matters worst I live in the Isle of Man BRITISH GAS DOES NOT exist here

British Gas fined £2.5m for complaint handling

Ofgem ruled that the company had failed to re-open complaints when customers said they had not been resolved.

It added that British Gas had not provided customers with key details about help they could get from the energy ombudsman.

It also said the energy provider had failed to put in place proper complaint procedures for small business.

"Today's finding highlights basic failures in British Gas' customer service, particularly in dealing with some of its small business customers," said Sarah Harrison at Ofgem.

"We warned the industry in March that we would be backing up our plans to reform the retail market with a tough approach to enforcement."

Ofgem said it was also investigating Npower and EDF Energy for they way they handle customer complaints, and Scottish Power, Scottish and Southern Energy, EDF Energy and Npower for mis-selling.

It added it was looking into potentially misleading marketing at Scottish Power, and the difference between the company's standard credit and direct debit tariffs.

its British Gas mate..had the same myself just block it..hope it helps.

Getting multiple phone calls a day to both my landline and mobile from this number, we aren't with British Gas and haven't been for a number of years.  Despite repeated requests to stop, they are still ringing and asking for someone with a different name.

just add any of these funny answering machine messages to your landline.... they'll get fed up....

I am not in debt to british gas and have recieved numerous calls all silent. I will be reporting this to the relevent authorities

This is British Gas nuisance calls.
Calling to say they have sent you a bill, this happens almost every time you get a bill if you do not pay within 4 days of receipt of the bill.
It's very strange as I have not provided them my number and I still have 2 weeks to pay mine, yet they still send silent calls to my mobile.
Make sure you hide your number before calling them or else you may receive these nuisance calls.

got a call from this number asking to pay 150.00 and some pennies

They are an out and out nuisance, i will be changing my supplier . If they phone again after that i shall tell them to do one

It is Capita debt collectors in Leeds ringing on behalf of British Gas if the area code is 0113.

Not sure about 0161 XXX XXXX Manchester BG debt calls

British Gas chasing a debt from 2006 before I bought the house. Fat chance paying another's gas bill!

I received an automated call purporting to be from British Gas. The source number was given by 1471 as: 0208 328 1247. The message was that there was an urgent problem with my account and I should call: 0800 107 8594. I checked the freephone number with British Gas online, but it came up as 'unrecognized'. I wish to block calls from this number as it is clearly a scam.

I keep getting called by this number and I don't know what for. I need it to stop
