rang my moible god knows how they got my number i never give it to any one. now blocked ha

completely fed up - these calls are coming in via three different numbers now, interrupting at work in meetings etc.
Glad to find this info in a way - they ring me & ask for Mr Alex Jameson and I get cross and they say sorry they will amed records. Got really angry at some dude this week and thought that might stop it but no.
Just emailed the customer complaint email address in a previous post.
I have not ever been, nor ever will be now, a British Gas customer - I have no idea whee they got my number - an Mr Jameson is not getting his calls. They even texted me to say they are coming to change my meter in July - good luck with that!!!

we get calls from this number every day asking for an Asian man when i tell then this is a business number
they say we will take you off our list, but an hr later they ring again asking for an Asian woman of the same name
also they call over the weekend and fill up the  answerphone with stupid messages reported this to TPS and BT also e mail this guy peter.metcalf@britishgasbusiness.co.uk

Constantly ringing me off of different numbers including this one... Have emailed them several times regarding the bill and they still try to contact me!

Thanks for everyone for letting me know who this is.  I had several calls from them in one day and I too am not a British Gas customer.  Luckily I didn't answer as I am in Egypt and it would have cost me a fortune.  What is so annoying is that they let it ring only twice or three times so you wouldn't have time to answer anyway and they never leave a message on the answer phone.  Really annoying!

Got a call this morning.
It was a recorded message about a free boiler and press 2 to speak to a person for more info.
I didn't take up the offer (although our boiler is over 30 yrs old) because didn't want high pressure sales talk.
Came on here to try and identify the caller.
It's probably part of "The Green Deal" where one ends up paying for it through gas/electric bills.
Reading about that it can be costly in the long run.

just had a call from this number - an indian sounding voice. Said he was market research and if i answered his questions he would never phone again.
never mentioned brittish gas as above although i have recently had the brittish gas home survey

This number is British Gas and they are reminding you your bill is overdue.

Called from this number answered and they put the phone down

Menace! Not worth staying with British gas, I'm leaving because of it, absolutely miserable way to run a business

The Caller is an Indian Call Centre (Debt Collections) working on behalf of BRITISH GAS!  Despite my Bill only being due on the 29th December,  I still got a call from these people on 2nd January, requesting immediate payment for my overdue Account!  After having ascertained who they said they were are why they were calling me I hung up on them.  I had already settled my Bill earlier that day and I refuse to give any Banking details to an international Caller Centre whoever they claim to be representing.

British Gas site confirms the number is one of theirs.    You might call British Gas on 0800 048 0404 to register your thoughts.      On the other hand you do agree that payment was overdue.

Keep getting calls from 0208 328 1247 stating British Gas regarding utilities and account overdue for payment (which it is not as mine gets paid  on time) then giving another number to call back on 0800 048 0404 which when dialled both numbers come up as British Gas, so believe they must be scanners

The 0208 number you quote shows on the http://www.britishgas.co.uk/help-and-advice/c ... e-call-you.html  service as being genuine.    The same service also shows the 0800 number as genuine.     Purpose of call is shown as "To discuss your Energy Accounts".      The same British Gas web service confirms that the 0161 number of this thread is equally genuine, so where is the problem?   If you call the 0800 number you can be sure you are talking to British Gas and might save further nuisance calls by checking why they are calling you.     After all there is no Gas anywhere in the area I live, but it does not stop British Gas making fools of themselves by calling.    The bigger the Company the harder they fall.   Whoever said that Phone, electricity, and gas were mandatory services at each household was a true prat.

if as previous notes have said, that it is british gas, the do it just to annoy people into paying their overdue bills..my bill nowadays is rarely overdue, but i've noticed that when it is, i get a lot of these nuisance calls, the come from a seemingly ever changing series of different numbers, but every search seems to come up with british gas ..
i will endeavour to block every single number they use

British Gas

Just had a call from this number and yesterday evening 7:15pm when I was out. Asking for a "Mr Jackson". There's no Mr Jackson here. Thing is I've just moved in only been here a week AND IT'S A BRAND NEW PHONE NUMBER only got connected late yesterday afternoon! Fortunately I have a call blocking phone this number is going in the block list!!

Very often so called "new" numbers are actually recycled.  Could be that "Mr Jackson" was the previous owner of the number.

If British Gas had a ounce of decency they would have ensured that calls were made to their customers who have outstanding bills owing to them.  As it stands this practice has been going on for years and British Gas does not give a damn about people.  Boycott them now||  They are part of Satan's network.
