    Yes British Gas Collections team, guy with a Pakistani accent. How British is that! Phoned at 0839hrs whilst preparing myself for a hospital appointment, very convenient. Asked for that [***] Mrs Gregory, who's caused 99% of our problems with nuisance calls. We're not even with British Gas, we use N Power.

    Told them to delete my phone number from their database immediately as any further calls would be reported to the Police as a criminal act (re Telecommunications Act 1984 and Freedom from Harassment Act 1997).

    We had an existing problem with nuisance calls on our old phone number, and when we changed from BT to Virgin for our calls and Broadband we decided to change our number to sort these problems out. They've actually increased 200%, and if I could find out who these f*** Gregorys are I 'd go and sort them out myself.

    British Gas? I've neer even been with British Gas, so I don't know how they have got my mobile number and home phone number!!! I have answered only to get automated responses asking me to phone British gas collections department immediately. I have blocked their number on my mobile now. This has been going on now for almost a year!

    I have a personal policy of not discussing my business with anyone who's not in this country for security reasons.

    I had this number ring a few time the other day and I put the phone down and left them rambling away to themselves for as long as they wanted. They seem to have stopped doing it now.

    Fed up with British Gas keep calling me, not got any accounts with them and not been a customer for years as they couldn't send me any bills. I am about to start legal proceedings against them for harassment.

    This number called me twice this morning, I didn't pick up because of the odd number. So is it British Gas or a scam company acting as British Gas?

    I'm with BG and it is very possible that my latest bill is unpaid since i live with mates and i've been back at my parents for a few weeks.

    Had lots of calls from this number asking to speak to my tenant.  I have no idea how they managed to associate MY mobile number with the girl who rents my property.  They claim to be from British Gas as despite numerous requests on my part over the last year or so to get them to delete my number from their records they still call at least twice a week.

    Ive had an ongoing battle with British Gas since I left them, they claim I owe £140 when they didnt even do the switch voer correctly, I told the woman at British Gas Customer Services that I wouldnt pay a penny till they sorted their lives out and sorted it with SSE as its not my fault they didnt do the switch over correctly and I'm still waiting to hear back from her after I had a monthly direct debit set up with them based on exactly what I was paying SSE so that if anything I would be paying more each month....then when I tried to close ym account gave the final meter reading they tried telling me I owed them £140 after having paid on month every time with givign meter readings and never being asked to pay any more.......

    I'm hounded every 2 hours with out fail and just ignore it.

    I too have a policy about not discussing business with anyone on the phone in any country not even UK unless instigated by me.  I also put the phone down and leave them to get on with it although not working as the calls keep coming.  If it is British Gas why are they phoning me as gas and electricity supply are through them and no money is owed as paid by direct debit?

    I was called by this number and informed that there was money owing on an account relating to a property I used to live at. The caller was clearly from India and didn't seem well prepared, then when the conversation quickly turned to issues of payment, I thought it was a definite scam. I told the caller that I would be calling BG to check everything was above board thinking this would scare them off. When I called BG, I told them about the number and was informed that they were an outsourced collections company based in India. So it appears they are legit. I put a complaint in all the same as I felt the manner with which I was treated (like a fugitive on the run for mass fraud) was unacceptable, especially as I pay for number of BG packages including Homecare etc...
    To be fair, BG themselves were very accommodating and put in what they called an 'unsatisfied' mark. I also told them I'd Googles the number I was called on and found that there were a significant number of other unsatisfied customers unhappy with the way they had been delt with by this number.

    Left British Gas a year ago due to them being expensive and dishonest (refusing to correct transposed meter readings) and joined Ebico who are a cheaper and HONEST and not for profit supplier
    ( Web: www.ebico.org.uk ) yet BG are now chasing me for the previous occupants unpaid bill which relates to readings and dates that precede the opening reading and date of hose purchase.

    I won against them when I took them to the Energy Ombudsman over transposed meter readings and will do so again on this issue if they persist. Told them to send documentary evidence of their claim against me but it hasn't arrived yet despite this being my second request.

    I have been hounded by this number for a few weeks claiming to be british gas.  we just moved out of a property and they were demanding money for that house and then a few weeks later they were calling demanding money for my new address.  They asked for my email address, my date of birth and other contact numbers (thankfully I didn't give them anything) I wondered why if they really were Britsih Gas they didn't already have this information and when I said I needed to look at the bills myself before I would pay and his response was would you like to pay by credit or debit card! He also said this bill is well over due and they will be passing my details on to debt collectors and we've only been in the house a month!  DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY DETAILS.  My husband is calling them and british gas now to give them hell!!!

    Continuing to ignore my emails and abuse to them when they phone. Extract of email sent today to:

    I have had cause to email you previously regarding the number of unwelcome unsolicited nuisance phone calls being made from your number 0161 322 6130, to my domestic phone no. nnnnnn nnnnnn which is registered with the TPS.

    Your caller always asks for Mrs Gregory, and you have been told on numerous previous occasions that the Gregory’s do not live here. Despite this, since 12th July 2011, you have called this number on the further following occasions:

    12.7.11. 1830hrs.
    14.7.11. 1144hrs
    15.7.11. 1450hrs.
    16.7.11. 1325hrs.

    You are ignorant and obnoxious, and your belief that you can intrude upon the privacy of private individuals (who are in no way connected with you) to pursue your business objectives is an incorrect assumption.

    You have been warned concerning the nuisance aspect of your calls in that these constitute harassment. These are criminal offences and are breaches of the Telecommunications Act 1984 (as amended) & the Harassment Act 2000 (as amended).

    I am now in the process of further reporting you to TPS, the Information Commissioner, and in obtaining a crime no. from my local duty Police Inspector by which to initiate criminal proceedings against you.

    Got an immediate reply by email today, put the sh***s up them apparently? Now the b****ds actually want EVEN MORE of my personal information than the sufficient that I've already given them to prove I'm not Mrs Gregory. Not a chance. Crime No. from local Police is how I'll progress this. BTW TPS abso useless - they say we don't deal with this type of call, report to Information Commissioner.

    If this is british gas then they are wasting their time as I never answer phone to this number and do not allow them to leave a message. so it is their time and money they are wasting. I just ignore them now.
