    B Gas incorrectly set up my direct debit (wrong account number and sort code) and wondered why it had not been paid? Yep, this is B Gas.

    I got a call from 01793471780 actually; didn't answer as I thought that if it is important, they will leave a voicemail. They did and it was an automated message from (supposedly?) British Gas, stating that it was imperative that I contact BG immediately with regards to my account, on 0800 1077064.

    I didn't call any number back; I checked both numbers on the internet and only found info about the 0800 number on this thread - thanks all for your input.

    I am with BG and I hadn't paid my latest bill, as it was an estimate and I was waiting for an updated one based on the readings I gave them 2 weeks ago (they normally do issue an updated bill every time I've submitted my readings, but it seems that they didn't do it this time). I paid the estimated bill, which thankfully wasn't too far off, and hoping that this will be the end of it...

    I got 4 calls from this number, 3 while at work, so I couldn't answer and one just now, where they hung up before I could get to the phone. I just decided to google the number and landed here.
    So far I haven't answered, but it reminded me that my gasbill was overdue, I paid it immediately so I hope these calls will stop...
    However I read the T&C on British Gas and found this (think it's paragraph 10 or something):

    "Some other people or organisations that we share your information with may be based outside the European Economic Area (EEA), so your information may be transferred to countries that do not have the same standards or protection for personal information as the UK."

    So I am thinking, and this is merely my speculations, if you go overdue BG sends your details outside the EEA to get the money you owe them back via some call center or similar.

    It might also be a fraud. In that case, if they continue to call me from this number even after I've settled the bill, I'll contact BG and inform them of this. If enough people complain about their procedures, maybe they'll change.

    They offerred to take money from benefits? By writing to them for a deduction, the bill isnt officially overdue yet.

    They said it was British Gas
    I said I'd pay by thursday. I wont not via them.
    Very wierd.

    Silence upon answering. I am not a British Gas customer and there is no gas at the property. Electric is on a key with a different company and always has been.

    I have had 2 phone calls from this number this morning, I din't know the number so came here. I phoned it up because I had an idea who it was for and wanted to confirm it. It went to the automated voice asking for payment details and asked for a name associated with the account, I am not with BG so cannot give one so I just mumbled and was eventually put through to my favourite people in India. I was in control of the phone conversation through out, I wanted to know, who the bill was for, what date the bill was incurred. I knew the answer to the first, a Mr Murray and the bill was for the 18/03/2012. That so eh? so why the f**k have you been calling this number asking for a Mr Murray for the last 3 years, with me telling you Mr Murray does not live here, or, has ever lived here. I was told the number has been removed from the list, to which I severely doubt it at some great degree. You see, what I think has happened is this,well there's 2 official theory's, 1) Mr Murray who ever he his has put my number down as a contact and either put a wrong digit or these imbeciles have misread the number for last few years. 2) When I had Virgin Media installed I was given a recycled number and this is Mr Murray's old number. One of the first calls I ever received was from someone asking for Mr Murray. I cannot have the number's blocked by VM and I cannot use the True call system because I'm on cable. I'll just have to carry on shouting profanities and being uber rude when I know it's them calling (which I kind of enjoy, it lets me get rid of pent up anger and frustration at the state of the UK today caused by unfettered immigration , thankyou Labour, continuing by the present idiots at Westminster. VOTE UKIP or if you have to BNP).

    I have had a call every day for months now. I have asked them four times to remove my number as I am not a british gas customer and have not been for over 15 years (well before I got this mobile number). Each time I am assured they have removed it. I have sent an email to customercomplaints@britishgas.co.uk to get this sorted once and for all and suggest others do the same. If you don't get a suitable response in 8 weeks - refer the matter to http://www.ombudsman-services.org/energy.html

    Have had 5 calls from this number asking for Mr Jonathan Davies not even close to my name. On three occasions I answered and was asked to pay my gas bill.  I told them that the person they wanted didnt even own this mobile number they had called and to stop contacting me.. This still hasnt sunk in with them.. They are even sending me text messages now..

    It's a scam. BG do not recognize this number. As another poster suggested: ask them for your details - highly doubtful they have them....then tell them to eff off

    Suggest  anyone hassled by this caller use Marigold's link -- I have   and I have pasted it into an email sent to all my contacts asking them to subscribe to the petition and to forward the email and link to all their contacts.   If we all did this it could well go viral before the end date of the petition.     A relief to see your e mail with something pro-active to do!

    From the minute I switched on my new mobile I received a call from this 01613326130 and have had 2 calls on a regular basis most days. Answering it BG said I was a Mrs Wyatt (?) and money was owed. Advise I am NOT Mrs Wyatt and please remove my number from whatever list they had. 4 times I am told this has been removed - clearly they are consummate liars as over this weekend another 5 calls.When looking on their website there seems to be no facility for a complaint other than a gas leek..................

    So will now take your advice, e mail them and then wait. Then its off to the Ombudsman for me to complain of harassment to an OAP. That should do it.................

    How odd to stumble upon this thread after getting a call and see my name in the last comment.  I am a Mr Wyatt but keep getting calls from this number asking for someone else.
