Have received calls to my mobile and letter through post chasing an outstanding account, usually for gas, electric or telephone.   They become quite threatening and require your bank details otherwise they will hand the matter over to solicitors immediately.
Take no notice whatsoever, and DEFINITELY give them NO DETAILS AT ALL.
Wish someone could stop these people.

The phone number is British Gas. Here we go again, we have just moved from rented property into our own home. BG used to bug me before to change supplier and the only way i managed to stop them calling me was to ask the caller to put me through to the supervisor, i then asked if BG keep records of customers they call. It came as no suprise that the answer was no. I then simply asked him his name and that he make a record of this call, and that i did not want to be called again, and if i was iwould switch all my supply to a different supplier......BINGO all the calls stopped..until now..08:15 on a saturday morning they call, then left a recorded voicemail telling me that it is very important that i contact them,  i have called the number and gone through the automated system, and .... whilst wainting for someone to answer the call i have booted up the computer, kicked google in to life, found this page, read loads of the comments, written this one, and now the phones been on hands free for 37 minutes. Glad BG are paying for the call...Perhaps the energy onbudsman should be informed about the amount of money and energy this  company wastes. As well as all the nuisance calls?                     OK rant over Good luck

I am sick and tired of receiving calls from this number.  I am not and have not been a British Gas customer for over 7 years.
I have told them this but they still continue to ring.
I rang them to ask why my mobile number is in their system and they put me on hold and never came back.
I will just drop the calls in future but they are ringing me every day.

I just got a call from this number, said hello and got no response. I was with BG and recently ended my contract because I moved out of the rented property. When I called them to do this I requested the call back function, I'm guessing this is how they got my mobile number. The account is closed and I told them I am not moving it over because the landlord looks after the bills in my new property so it is up to him. I just hope these don't escalate into nuisance calls and that it is a one off...

HAD NUMEROUS CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER, NOT GIVEN ANY DETAILS.

British Gas I assume from the thread comments.  Silent the other end when they get through then cuts off.  I have never given them my telephone number so have no idea whay they are alling it or how they got it.

Just got a call from this number very early this morning, which I did not answer.  As with others, they left no message.  I can't imagine why they're calling us, as we're already British Gas customers and are not in arrears.  When will all these providers and nuisance callers get the message that we don't want to hear from them??

We received ANOTHER call from this number this evening!  This time, my other half answered.  It was a person *claiming* to be from British Gas.  He said he was calling to confirm our details!  My other half asked why we would need to confirm any details if the HE was calling US!  The caller quickly hung up when presented with this question.  DO NOT give these guys ANY information!!  They are most likely phishing / social engineering scammers!

we get this number calling at least 3 times a day. my partner won't answer but when  i do i can't understand who they are asking for,(not english spoken) that's for sure!! can't understand  them at all. have said to not call my number ever again. it's p*****g me/us of now.

I got a missed call from this number - no idea who it is and what they want.  If it's important I wish they would just put it in writing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a call from this number, apparently its British Gas Indian call centre, nothing to do with outstanding bills just after your credit card details, under no circumstance give these details insist they send a copy bill instead !!!

I don't answer any unknown phonecalls. I've received a call from this number at 8:30 this morning, fortunately my phone was on silence.
There is probably not a lot we can do. Just ignore calls.

they called me on my mobile asking to speak with my husband she claimed to be from british gas we do not have an account with british gas. when i told her that he was not they she was quite rude

says they are from AOL  a scam

Had three calls a day for a week now from this number. On the times I've picked up there's no one there. I called the number back and it's British Gas. I've had a bill lately but paid it off about a week ago (only a week and a half after I recieved it).

It wouldn't surprise me if they've started chasing bills after ten days. This lot are a bunch of parasites.

I've logged into my details on my online account BG account and taken a couple of digits out of the phone numbers I've (stupidly) provided in the past. I'll see if that stops the calls.

I had a call from this number claiming to be British Gas asking for my debit card details as my payment was overdue.  When I refused as I dont give out that information over the phone he got quite arsey with me, even when I told him id pay it online he still insisted I gave him the details shouting 'I AM from British Gas' and 'why dont you believe me?' also I would be charged double if I didnt pay him.   I hung up and will be changing suppliers as soon as I can.

keep getting calls from this number, i'm on a token meter so got no gas bill,,!!!
