Calls then hangs up when answered

Hangs up when answered so very annoying.

caller was from talk talk apparantly, took about 15 seconds to start talking, said they could save money on phone bills, told me i pay on avrg £26 a month i replied by correcting him saying it was £18 then he hung up. i dont believe this is an official talk talk correspondant. if so talk talk should be shot.

This phone number rings every week, when my answer machine takes over, the caller hangs up.

I had the exact same call, claiming it was from Talk Talk, asked for my postcode and said i was paying £26 a month, i said i paid 23 and then she hung up.

I received a call from 0800 988 6018 at 13:30 on 20.05.10
The caller (with a strange accent) asked to speak to me, using my full name.
I replied "speaking..", he paused and then hung up.

Ironically I am already a TalkTalk customer, with two accounts!
It would have been nice if he could have saved me money though..

I recieved a call from this number today. I dont answer my landline as a rule as its usually cold callers and I just cant be bothered. They hung up on the answer phone which I find very irritating, ITS THERE FOR A REASON!!
Looking at feedback here they may want to save me money but I only pay the £18 anyway so I question why they are bothering.
We and been at work all day and dont want to be bothered when we get home, leave us in peace!!

Caller asked to speak to me (using my real name). When I asked who was calling he identified himself as Neil from ...... Caller then hung up.

Same happened to me  today. When I asked who I was speaking to he gave his name as Kel then hung up.

I got a call saying they were from Talk Talk, wanting 5 mins of my time, asked for Post Code, First line of my address and DOB. after I gave them the information they hung up.
I  informed Talk Talk, they said there was no record of a call to me on their system, they didn't seem bothered out it.
I spoke to the police they said ring the number to find out who it was.
Nobody seems interested in it.

Its not TalkTalk its a company that want to steal moeny and details!
Call Police straight afetr you see them on discplay or they call you!!!

Exactly same here... Just hangs up straight away now, after I had an argument about my average bill
a few days ago...  Getting them every day.  :-(

Oh yeah.. Said my average bill was £26:00,  but it's £22:00, but he wouldn't have it... Indian accent.

Just got a call from this number, they said my full name and when I asked who was calling, they hung up.
Second call today.

I was out when they called, and pressed 1471 to find out who it was and rung it back.It said this is talk talk nothing to worry about, we'll call you back. I rang Talk Talk to find out what they wanted, and they don't have an option for returning a call so just pressed a random number, and gave them my query. The rather abrupt lady on the other end of the phone just said 'are you moving home' ? No - I just told you why I'm calling, after her being rather awkward I gave her the number that called me, and she said it was the Sales team, I told her to put me through, she put me on hold and came back to say sorry to keep you waiting, I am through to someone, I'll put you through, and the line went dead. Now, I have actually requested when this happeed before, that they take me off all mailing list, telephone lists etc, and they are calling again?

I receive calls from this number daily and they just hang up!

I keep getting this call thing is im warey about it cos im only 18 quid a month and talk talk already got me on their lowest package i think this is another company trying to be talk talk and i already spoke to them the other day saying they would need to call me after 6 as ive got kids to tend too through the day they said that was fine now this number has called me twice in the day this aint talk talk im sure of that i think its another company trying to be them to trick us lot into giving our details out don't do it i will contact talk talk myself to findout if they actually did call me from this number b4 i give out any details guaranteed i bet it wasn't them.

I said i would contact talktalk to find out if this was them calling they have told me that they haven't called me. So this number is not genuine i've been told not to give out any details at all so anyone whos getting calls from this number dont give out your details it's obviously a scam and it deffinately is not talk talk i can guarantee you that. so be careful with this number it could well be a scam to get you to give out details. Don't take this call keep a record if anyone of you get this call again dates and times i'm going to do the same and i will if it comes to it contact the police.
