glad i looked at this site, i received a long phone call from an indian gentleman called Gary an hour ago from sandwell wellbeing who wouldn't get to the point of the phonecall and i eventually found out he wanted to sell me the rosex tablets, his conversation was similar to what iv'e read on here, l told him i would research his company and product first on the internet ( am i glad i did !) to be fair he was not rude, but sounded a bit deflated, just hope i don't get any more calls from this company,how can i prevent this ?

My father was recently contacted by this company and asked me to look into it for him i'm so pleased he did. It is not like him to fall for these scams i am just hoping he can get to his bank before they do.

A recent 'scam' has been brought to our attention involving patients taking warfarin. A company called Sandra Wellbeing, located in Bexley has been calling patients using the same tactics as an earlier incident reported in June this year, when a 'Rep from a drug company phoned patients offering a wonder drug, in some cases were told to stop taking their warfarin all together. High pressure to release their debit/credit card numbers in exchange for this drug was put on them. The 'caller' seemed to know all about their medical condition and also their NHS numbers.

If you receive any such phone calls, please report immediately.

Thanks for posting.  As mentioned before in this thread.  Last year we had a small issue with this kind of activity from some rogue sales agents and it was promptly stopped.  The link if from July 2010 when we were working to stamp out this kind of activity as we are in no way linked with the NHS nor do we hold medical data.

You say that Sanda Wellness employ(ed) "rogue sales agents"? Are they now dormant or sacked or retrained? Because the complaints about you impersonating and/or insinuating that the calls are NHS related continue far beyond July 2010 right into 2011. On here, in the press and the NHS surgery sites.

Are you really stamping it out? Is the new script to pretend to be from the DWP when calling pensioners in Brighton? It seems to me that your commission driven agents will do anything to sell; after all spending 40 minutes doing a bogus survey and health MOT and getting no return must depress them if they can't charge a card.

Or is the data collected sold-on with a kickback? Where did you get the NHS numbers from? If you hold no medical data why do so many of those called state that you did have this information?

Do the directors of Sanda Wellbeing Ltd think that because the NHS SFO Goldshield "criminal case was thrown out before it reached trial after the judge ruled the offence of conspiracy to defraud could not be used in cases of alleged price-fixing", that they are now above the law?

The accusations here are different and revolve around deception as to who is calling, false claims about GOPO content, misuse of personal health data, charging for more for products than people are told they will be, and repeatedly calling them when they have asked not to be?

Your management is either totally out of control or/and are quite happy to flout legalities while you are pocketing the enormous profits from this operation. I see no reason to believe anything that you say.

this all so happened to me

had a call from someone calling himself peter, wellness 32 ballmoor, celtc court, buckingham industrial estate, ma 18 1 rq. unfortunately i got sucked in by the friendly chat, which rapidly turned to sales pitch and bought some tablets that are supposed to be the extract of the pomegranite fruit skin. these tablets are called POMY 250 mgs strength. i was then passed over to a woman calling herself rose who tried to pressure me into buying 6 months worth as i had a good discount. i refused saying i only wanted to try 1 month. i had to tell her this several times until she got the message. i am all for trying things new if they may help  without pressure from sales staff. we have to wait and see if they work. i will not be answering my phone to cold sales staff again.

Don't worry too much. They won't have been posted today as it's a Bank Holiday so you should be able to get a refund if you ring Meerkat or Sanda Wellness first thing tomorrow. If they charged you £179 las in the post you refer to without you knowing, this is fraud. I hope you saw the help links above. I'd phone for a refund and return address confirmation first and take it from there. Good luck! And spread the word to your local surgery etc. Not everyone is on-line yet or does due-diligence when it is so easy to be mislead by Sanda's smooth scam patter!

Thanks, Ian. From your name it seems that the Midlands is one of their favourite hunting grounds. I'll add the surgery link you provided to the scam warning file. The DWP claim is a worrying development! I can only suppose that perhaps the NHS fraud teams contacted Sanda Wellness too frequently for comfort and that they had to drop that particular insinuation from their patter.
