I've had several irritating calls from these thieves over the last few weeks. Their tactics/patter have subtly changed from initially claiming they are from a Microsoft service centre to now saying they will run a diagnostic and 'mend' your PC etc etc. Either way, the outcome will be the same - you will be asked to give these aggressive oiks access to your PC and they will rob you blind and/or steal your identity! My advice would be put the phone down straight away!! However, I must admit, this morning I have enjoyed an entertaining 15 minutes string them along on the phone... After all, they're paying for the phone call!!

Just kept them going for half an hour at which point he twigged I knew they were scammers and got very abusive. Bizarrely he called me a cobbler (according to his list) and he knew I knew nothing about computers. Most entertaining 30 minutes. Feel sorry for people who fall for this.

Was called from India, a very indian man by the unbelievable name of Peter.  I refused to link in with his computer so that he could fix my problem (what problem?). Requesting a company name and a UK telephone number I was provided with C2F or Click to Fix as it turns out, plus the telephone number of 02088199744.  This number does answer, but again a very indian Mr James. Got a credible story about being an independent company working on Windows product, but at the end he still wanted me to have a check made.  I closed the conversation at that point.

These are the lowest of SCUM......SCAMMERS.  They were very intimidating, aggressive and demanding of money towards my wife who was left distressed and physically upset with the whole scam despite the fact that they were unsuccessful with their financial demands.
BE WARNED.....DON'T DEAL WITH THESE SCUM!

My mother-in-law has received four calls today claiming that her PC is causing faults on the BT Broadband system and that he is calling to help solve the problem and will need access to her PC. AS i couldn't here what Tom Wilson was saying with his heavy accent, poor phoneline, time delay and music in the boackground i asked for a company name and phone number and told them we'd call back. Somewhat surprisingly when i called BT direct they found no errors... then i googled 02088199744 and found this all these messages about them! nice...

My parents have just been scammed as detailed above.  Clickk 2 fix installed google chrome and a free software to delete cookies, etc.
Can anybody tell me, does this mean there is a trojan in the comuputer and that they have access now to everything they do on their computer.

Any advise would be appreciaed.  They have already been scammed out of £72.  and these programs have been deleted from the computer but what else should I do to help them,

    Just to add to the warnings;
Got a call from "CLICK2FIXS" at 1pm ish today.
The Asian accent was very hard to follow but the lady on the line was very patient with me as i asked her to spell, letter by letter her company name & other occasional details.
She was a lot more patient than the bloke who was to follow!
She said that "CLICK2FIXS" were "obliged to provide assistance to Windows users" on behalf of that company.
She said that many computers in the Preston area were being affected by numerous "Online INCEPTIONs"!
(Presumably a sort of Cyber-Celluloid Attack launched by the notorious Messrs. L. de Caprio & K Watanabe - the swines!)
This made computers "go slow" & take too long to "boot up". This did NOT sound in the least like the kind of common complaint that ANY Comp. user would raise, so of course so i just KNEW then that i was definitely under some kind of Bizarre Evil-Computer-Virus attack known only to those in the Preston area!!
NOW, at last, it had a name: INCEPTION!
Obviously, i had to act quickly!
I kept her on the line for the LONG time it took me to get the comp. on. (about 10 min)
She had me go to "My Computer" then Manage then Event Viewer  and then i was to be handed to her Technical manager for the next stage.
When he asked me further questions i said that i'd gone as far as i wanted to until i cld make some checks on their company. He didnt like the questions that i started to ask @ this point and wanted to know what damage he cld possibly do with further info. When i told him that its precisely BECAUSE i didnt know the answer to that that i wouldn't give him any more info, he became more aggresive, saying that i was making no sense/being stupid & that "sh*t" people like me were upsetting him.
He asked if i had "mental problems" of some kind.
When i calmly put it to him that his terminology confirmed that he did not represent a legit. company & was revealingly unproffesional he got more agitated & said that i was not a "Proffesional Person" !
He then asked how long i expected to live and what i thought my life expectancy might be, & he then hung up.
    Darn!
JUST when i was about to say,"Hey, you sound like JUST the sort of chap i could trust my personal info to! Come on, lets DO this!"
To be fair, at no point did he call me a "Cobbler!" [see previous entries!] so clearly, no REAL offense was intended by his remarks.
Some entertainment value might be extractable if they ring anyone again by pre-empting their speil with the cry; "thank goodness you're here! I am but a humble Cobbler with mental problems & a short life expectancy! Plus i AM sort of stupid & my INCEPTIONS are giving me jip! Can you help?!"

In seriousness, this is a wicked, unscrupulous company of thieves & these people bring shame upon themselves and their families.
My heart goes out to their victims. I wish i had enough computer-savvy to fix the damage they have done but i really am a bit "stupid" at technical stuff. All that may have happened here is a tiny delay on todays "Scamming Schedule" & a poss. upset of his day/mood. When the better Day is coming he can expect worse!

Unbeliveable..... how do these people sleep at night?
Got several calls from this organisation and as Im snowed in, and bored thought I would investigate. What a load of baloney, heavy accented Indian chap obviously calling from an Indian call centre - perhaps out of the back of the  BT one? rang me claiming that lots of computers in houses locally had been infected with a computer virus blah blah, didnt believe a word of it. Asked him for his UK based office landline which he gave me 020 8819 9744, whilst he was on the phone googled it and got access to this forum etc and told him exactly what it said. He tried to blag his way out of it, even claiming that a competitor had made up the comments etc.... do these people think our brains are made of mush? Told him not to bother calling me again, and asked him to consider his career choice.
Never ever give personal information or your computer access information to any unsolicited callers. There are some fantastic UK and locally based engineers who can help you fix your computers from as little as £20 per hour....

had them yesterday. Indian chap  claiming to be Harry Williams telling the same implausible tale.  When I asked questions he passed me on to their 'senior technical adviser' who started spinnning some tale about how they were tasked with dealing with problems with Microsoft Windows.  When I asked if they were connected with Microsoft, he was quick to say not; 'Microsoft make the computers' ....

PLEASE READ. I got home from work to find out my Mum got this call today. What the Indian Andrew Williamson (very common name in India I hear) said was to go on the click2fix site and then said the computer was infected. Then he asked for my Mum to click on something (she cant remember what now) so that a technician could look at the pc. Im guessing this is when they take over and 'fix' it? She clicked on it then the guy asked for a payment/credit card details so my Mum said no, not until i speak to my son. Can someone please tell me if she stopped the conversation just before the scam was about to take place or whether the computer could stil be affected just from going on the site and clicking. Getting a bit worried. Thanks

I have been taken in by this Indian lot.
I did allow them to repair remotely both of my computers. I paid £185 by CC for lifetime support 24/7.
Both computers are worse than before after they cleaned and installed Google Chrome, cleanup programs etc.
Can anyone tell me where to report this possible scam.

DO NOT VISIT THE CLICK2FIXS WEBSITE!! Page loads from within the site (clicking on 'Faster System' 'Service' 'Compression Software' for example), all run a malicious .aspx File extension which, among other things, can change you security settings remotely. I have just had to completely uninstall and reload McAfee, because my anti-virus settings had been turned off, and could not be restored. I had been contacted by a South Asian gentleman and foolishly agreed to visit their website!. You have been warned!

Thanks to all of you who put these comments up for us all to read. I have just been contacted and I felt that it was a scam, but 'Elisabeth' was very polite but quite insistant.
I am so glad I read this first, I have now got into the habit of often reading these message boards now before looking into nearly everything. Elisabieth is going to call me back on Monday evening - but she wont get me near my computer whilst she is on the line.
Thanks for this message of 4th Jan - my husband is yelling to me form the other room DONT GO ON THEIR WEBSITE - OK guys you are right!!

I had this today 8/1/2011,  fourth time this month!

They are so evil as they sound so plausible, and they will have access to your emails with all the emailed passwords and user names, card details, key stroke loggers etc etc

I was phoned today by the click2fixs.com scammers and played along to see what their game was, and googled the phone number and the site he was so insistent I went to as I had all the usual files I would expect on my PC, and my CPU usagae was a shocking 16% "obviously infected'

The usual we are microsoft tech support and there have been 69 PC infections in your street or town..........

This is the fourth time in the last month by these scammers they know the name and address. (from Telephone Directory etc)

I am using a Mac now I said, that wasn't any good for him, so out with the Laptop.

I then said Would his fix clear my WII? Or do I have to go to the loo to fix that? He didnt seem to do humour!

I kept asking him, how do I know you are not scammers? and pointed out the online reports were from a disgruntled ex-employee

After 2 calls and over an hour I told him what I thought of him.

Go to his web site or google the web site below to read more about it.

    https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/02088199744

Or just google the number 02088199744

    Seems the scams are

    1) probably a premium rate number

    2) They insist you click on a link that allows them to control your PC (thats on the rogue site above)

    3) they sell you a contract for 3 years at £134

    4) they have your credit card details so they can use or sell that on.

    5) They use threats of intimidation of legal action if you try to cancel. They are obnoxious and frightening often to the elderly.

From 2) they will then have access to all your emails data, install key log monitors

They probably have a site log in so many people would use the same password on their site as they use on the bank accounts, so even if (Like LloydsTSB etc use pulldown menus and only ask for part of a password, they will have the whole lot entered.

So always use higher security passwords on banking password than on any possible scam sites.

Please do pass this on to your friends, especially those that may be vulnerable. It is VERY active and ongoing today!

From the noise in the background, it was a massive call centre. They are making thousands of calls a day. Even if 1% of people click on the link to give remote access, just think what damage they could do after a few months and access to many thousands of computers. I right big time bomb!

ps note the three "supporters' Janet Victor etc posting earlier, were in fact the cretins themselves in a damage limitation attempt!

Try complaining to the Indian Embassy?.

I got called again today from the above number, or at least, that is the number I was asked to ring back on. I was told that there are some nasty viruses about and 'Jordan' was going to help me discover if my computer is infected. I said I would not take the call further because I would not enter anything onto my computer dictated to me over the telephone from a complete stranger. After becoming a little upset (I think he thought I was telling him he was a virus) and listening to my refusal again, he said he understood and gave me the telephone number to ring back on. I suppose, thinking that by giving me this number and having it answered when I rang back, would give me validation of Click2fix's integrity. I have not called back.

I have had calls like this at least a couple of times before.
