These people are scam artists. You will pay them £50 and they will also  infect your computer with a trojan for stealing your bank details.

Very nearly got taken in by click2fixs.com - thankyou very much crappy sky broadband. It went off again just as I was about to be taken in. Never been duped before, but this call was quite convincing. Was sceptical at first but we have been struggling with lap top for last couple of days so was nearly taken in when told of virus threat in accrington area. click2fix got fed up of waiting for broadband to come back on again. Googled the company when it did come back on and found this thread.

An almost identical scenario as philswan, but substitute Michael for Alex. He originally stated that this could be done offline, but said that they were calling 'through my internet provider'. I took the precaution of disconnecting my internet connection for the duration of the call.
Although not an IT pro, my PC was built by a friend who is one, and maintained by him, but even so, they (I was eventually double teamed on this) suggested he would not be able to fix this problem!!! After 20 minutes, and telling them that I never allow someone to connect remotely to my PC without checking them out first, they hung up.

    WHAT A SCAM!!!

I live in Shropshire and have had several calls including tonight at 7.45pm from this company  'click2fix' informing me that several computers in Wolverhampton have virus infections- I asked the persons name ( he was Indian) and he said that it was 'Peter Parker'
He told me to switch on my computer(which I did not) and rightclick on 'my computer' - I did not do as he asked and told him that I was calling the police about this 'scam'company - he got quite irate with me - I asked him the phone number and it is the one stated above!
When I dialled  1471 the number had been witheld!!
Hpw can we stop these scam phone calls ??

Yep, just got one of those calls from Click2fixs. Female with a very heavy Indian sub-continent accent, and dozens of others in the background. She claimed to be calling from London (oh yes)... Go to your computer, switch it on... blah-blah. I asked for the number she was calling from. Same as above... 0208 819 9744. She said she would guide me to their web page etc. I said I'm not buying anything and I will only deal with BT. She went on about a fault in computers. I said I have no fault. She said go and turn your computer on. I said I will not. She said well, if you're not worried about virus... and then put the phone down. The cheek of it !!

Kept the guy on the phone to find out who he was, he spouted a load of bull asking me to click on things like task manager telling me that 4% CPU usage was BAD! it means I can only access 4% of my computers potential and that 4.98 GB of memory usage was dangerously high (even though I have 32GB of DDR3) I was told that a virus was spreading in my machine and that it would be rendered useless unless I went to his website and did what he told me to do. As soon as I had the web address I started to research him.

I cannot comment on any legal legislation other than that of the UK. The basic company set up IS LEGAL, they have a small offices with registered phone lines in several locations across the globe (However I believe the phones are on divert to 74E Purna Das Road, Kolkata, West Bengal,700029 India.Tel. +913.340080731) . The base set up of the company may be legal however their SALES PITCH IS ILLEGAL and in contravention with the Office of Fair Trading Consumer Act and Fraud Act of 2006 'attempting to gain financial advantage by misrepresentation' (they tell you that unless you buy their product your computer will die due to the virus that is spreading inside of it.) They prey on the computer illiterate in the hope of scaring them in to paying too much money for a quick fix program.

received a call supposedly, from my internet provider stating that they had identified a computer problem from my I.P address and I stated that for the best part of the day I had been unable to connect to the internet. I was lead to believe this was a local area problem which they would be able to resolve by taking me to the Click2fixs site. I had a great deal of trouble understanding the callers accent, a problem which was exacerbated by my partial deafness, I eventually allowed them to proceed on my laptop at a charge of between £25 & £72 They ostensibly ran checks, installed Google Chrome & 3 other programs and then said they would charge me £68 but instead could offer one of three diferent packages to provide system checks and protection for up to five years, and that they would then remove the errors from my computer. By this time I became suspicious and tried to find out more information at which point the caller started to threaten legal action and a £500 pound fine, by this time I had disconnected the computer and proceeded to remove the programs they had installed.

I consider this type of cold calling to be disgusting and to try and lure elderly & vulnerable people with little or no computer technology into paying out money by using scare tactics to be deplorable . I havn't paid any money but wonder whether I will be receiving a legal letter and more threats.

just had a call from this lot.. he told me that my IP address was flashing red and he could see 10 faults with my computer !!  He wanted me to go straight to the "start" menu so that he could fix the problems for me.
As I always do with cold callers , I went carefully through who he was calling on behalf of , his name etc.
He said his name was Thomas but the fact that I could barely understand his english suggested that he wasn't being entirely truthful !!
I told him I would research his company and then decide what action to take and ended the call.
I am fairly sharp on spotting scams but I agree with previous posts that one could easily be duped into forking out money as a result of technical ignorance.
Lets hope they get their cumuppance in a very unpleasant manner one day !

hi, I agree with Dee, these people are SCAM. Please never ever trust them. These people will take remote control of your computer and then run some registry cleanner and temporary file cleanner tools. And then they will open their FAKE website on your computer and will tell you to enter your credit card information in their website.

One of my friend caught by them and lost $185. They say that our credit card information will be secured but they watch from their end when you enter the card information.

You can easily search all the information about company. Just open
http://www.dnsstuff.com and then enter the  "click2fixs.com" in the ''WHOIS lookup" box. This will result all the information about the company and the owner of the website.

The company is located at Kolkata, India and they change their website frequently, so that that they cannot be tracked.

Been called twice today by Thomas from Click2fix.  My IP is flashing red apparently and I must do something before my compuer goes wrong.  I was worried enough to take the 0208 London number and  told him I'd call back. I googled it. Thankfully found this information.  On his second call this evening he said it wasn't a scam as he was calling back.  I said then put it in writing. Scarily, he quoted my street address.   If he calls again might ask what the weather's like in Kalkata.

Got a call in Cork, Ireland tonight from "Robert" from this number. He had an Asian accent. He asked for me by name and had my address.  He said that 76 computers in my area were affected with a virus and that he was with computer technical services and working on fixing the problem for Microsoft. Only problem is that I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER AT THAT ADDRESS. He wanted me to go on line and allow him access to the machine. .When I asked him about the company he worked for he got angry and hostile and gave me the information almost word for word as he had originally given it to me. It sounded like he was reading from a prepared script. I told him that I did not have access to my computer at that time and he again got angry. He calmed down and then asked if he could call me back later. I instead got his number and told him that I may call him at a later time. The number he gave was 020 88199744 which he said was a UK number. He said to only ask for him as he was the only one dealing with the problem.
    BEWARE It's definitely a SCAM.
