I keep getting called by this number 07024 122123.
When I called it back as it looks just like a standard mobile I get a recorded message "This is a Test number operated by Damere St. in Petersfield, Hampshire and not in service... please check the number and call again"
On my phone bill after calling this number it shows as Msg Srvc for a 1 minute call cost 0.12p.

Who are they?

I've been called by this number twice a week for the last few weeks. I answered twice and it was an Indian sounding woman the first time telling me about new deals for mobile phones.  The second time it was an Indian sounding man with the same script. I've told them twice that I'm not interested. Now I just answer it and immediately hang up.

I've had the same experience as the person above. Although I've been getting the calls for some months now - every couple of days, twice a day. I'm registered with TPS, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I've just had a call from this number, the 'person' at the other end was silent and then hung up.

I am also called by this number every now and then.  I never answer as I have caller display.  I don't know how they go my number as i'm very careful who I give it out to.

this number has called me 6 times today. Each time i answer, no one speaks and then it hangs up. I've just called it back from my orange mobile and received a warning from orange that before they connect me i should be aware that the call may charge up to 55p per minute. So many calls for one day, already driving me nuts

I have had repeated calls from this number for months now, despite asking them to stop calling. I don't think they've quite grasped Geordie English yet! Damned nuisance. How can we stop foreign calls??

Just been called by someone on this number.  My phone is ex directory and I am registered with TPS.

I have had repeated calls from this number sinch last year. Ive register with IPS but doest make any differance.Today i asked his name he replied George bush.

We are getting calls regularly from this number. We are registered with the TPS and have twice requested that they remove us from their mailing list but they are completely ignoring our request.

Unbelievable - it feels like a complete invasion when they keep calling and you have told them not to. Going to see what I can do about it now!

Exactly the same as above but did 1471 and it came up with the number 01296 76822390

Just had them call (1st time), poor line quality, sounds like they were using a very compressed VoIP line and are likely to be spoofing the Caller ID (CLID).

We're TPS registered.

As for being ex-directory (xDQ) that doesn't stop people dialling your number, it just means it won't be listed in the phone book / DQ service.  Anyone can randomly or sequentially dial numbers and hit a working number.

Numbers starting 070 are not mobile numbers, but personal numbers / find me anywhere numbers and can cost around 50p per minute to call.

The company that has been issued this number range from OFCOM is "Danemere Street Creative", but that doesn't mean they are the company running this business.  It's in the same way as your home phone number may be issued to "BT" or to "Virgin Media" or a business number to "Magrathea" or "Connect Telecom UK" or "Gamma Telecommunications" or "BT" or "Virgin Media".

Rang when I was out but left no message

Received a number of these calls with recorded messages inviting me to press 5 to speak to a financial advisor or some such a couple of months ago but managed to block them with BT's Choose to Refuse service. However, they've started again using a different number. Like the previous posts above this also seems to be traced back to Danemere Street. Emails to this company are being bounced because the account has been suspended and I found a reference that the HM Revenue And Customs petitioned for winding up of this company in October 2007. Unfortunately the Ofcom web site is useless for making complaints.

Several times a day, various times, not always acceptable times of day either. Have repeatedly asked for them to stop calling my number, am registered with TPS, have reported this number to TPS but nothing seems to have been done yet! Very frustrating.

had a phone call didnt get number rang 1471 and it was the above number not happy all i heard was music and so i hung up.went to phone some else still had same music and heavy breathing told who ever it was in no uncertain terms that they best get off my phone line my husband has told our phone company to make sure the number is banned which they have done.also was told by our phone company that the above is bogus if you do a goggle search for the number it belongs to a sales company which try to keep you on the line as long as they can so you get fleeced by them your ips should be able to ban the phone number so they are unable to call you anymore.

ive been called many times by two indains 1 woman n 1 man both tryin to sell mobile phones or sayin there are from pc line very annoying they talk them go quiet and if i hang up they jst keep ringing i have reported it to virgin media but no one reli cares something needs to be done. it not right they now have our number so what other information do they have of us ?

I have been called several times by a man named "Michael" from India, purporting to be from tiscali.  I feel that he was trying to get my credit card details by asking to verify my account info.  I have his return number on file and this is te.  He seemed to know an awful lot about me and my account.  The phonecall was very unprofessional however.  He was offering me a new IT support service. But suspected from his manner that he was a fake.  I just wanted to warn people that this is happening and to be on your guard.
It also makes me feel that Tiscali have a breach of security and wonder if I can be reassured that this is NOT the case
