They always ask for 'Alan Bush' and when i say there are not at this number or to speak to a manager (lol) they hang up! Its shocking. Virgin Media dont care, just say sign up to TPS (we i have)!

We just had a call from this number, I thought it was a mobile number as it begins wit 07, was a man with an Indian sounding accent, he assumed I was someone else, like many others that have called our number asking for another family name, this family must have had our landline number previously, we're on Virgin Media, so not even a BT number in a diretory...so how do they get this number? We've had the number 18 mths since moving to a new area.

This company is driving me mad!! They repeatedly phone and ask for 'Misters Turner' and despite telling them that he doesn't live here, they hang up and try again; sometimes a few times on the same day! This goes on for weeks and then goes quite for a few weeks (obviousky working their way through a list and then coming back to us).  Anytime I try to ask ANYTHING, they hang up.. One time hubby was here and I asked "who's calling?" ready to pass the phone over (I was sick of speaking to them) and they still hung up, lol.  I tried: Where are you calling from? hung up!  Who's calling? hung up! What's the call regarding? hung up! Can I help? hung up!

Last time they called, I heard the familiar silence for a few seconds and then the accent (they usually use a British name but the accent was so far removed from a british one it's funny - and I'm NOT being racist, just stating the facts) asking for misters Turner so I immediately told them to 'F' off and stop pestering me and then I hung up on them... it was sooo satisfying and they hadn't called for a while so I thought it finally hit home that I don't want pestered (esp since I'm disabled and can't get the phone easily) but the vultures have begun to circle again and I just had them on.  Needless to say they're following the same routine of hanging up when you ask who's calling...

CAN'T WE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TYPE OF HARASSMENT??

WARNING WARNING WARNING!!! This scam caller tried to get me to pay them £100 deposit as they said they would reclaim all my mortgage fees. They tried to ask for my Debit Card Details even though I told them I was not interested. I too am registered with TPS and when I asked them for their address they hung up.

This company phoned me and used my previous married name from 16 years ago to address me.  Off course as you can imagine I went mad.  When I questioned the lady who phoned me where she had obtained this name from as I stopped using it 16 years ago she promptly put the phone down.  I am now trying to get on the internet to find out the source of this number 07024122123 so I could send them a stinking email but have no clue who they  are, if any one has any idea's please post it on here as I don't want them using my old name.

Called by this number today. An Indian sounding chap saying that I have been missold a loan and that they can help me. I have recently taken out a personal loan from my bank at my request. Not missold! I would like to know where they got the info from and will be contacting my bank. I am also with Tiscali and have read the previous thread. He refused to give me his name or the company name when I asked. I am registered with the TPS and will report the number to them.

Had a call from 'Michael' with the same story that Jayne received on 3 June.  The difference this time was that 'Michael' claimed to be from the FSA and he said they would help me get back moneys owing against a loan I had that was missold to me. The information was completely incorrect and when asked whether the Financial Services Authority was the body controlled by the UK government he said they were a legal body and then his story started to fall apart. He then said he must have the wrong information and then he hung up.  The call was obviously an attempted fraud.  Contacted BT and was told the number was from overseas.

I too have had calls over the last few days where they hung up when I answered.  Finally today a Indian guy advised that he was calling from my internet provider and offering me free technical support Virus software and Microsoft / Adobe aplications as long as i signed up to a one off £96 fee.

Now I was not boan yesterday and asked this guy if he was ringing from my IP provider, who was my IP provider.  Surprise surprise he did not know....then hung up!

I did 1471 and got the number 07024122123 proporting to be from a company  called Damier Street.  there was an option to press 2 to speak to their sales team about the number but then it hung up.

SCAM - SCAM - SCAM  =  Stay well away!

Christie with a very pronounced off shore accent (Indian) rang couldn't get the company name despite asking her to repeat several times. She is asking "do I have a loan or credit card that I took out before 2007 if so the FSA has said that they could get me my money back as it would have been miss sold and compensation as well"!! Some one might fall for this in this economic climate. 1471 gives the company as shown above in Petersfield but that number may have been re assigned - good old BT

I missed a call from this number around half an hour ago.  They just called back and it was an Indian sounding woman saying she was from "the Reclaims Department" and wanting to know whether I had taken out any loans or credit cards before 2007, as they may have been mis-sold.

I asked her which company's reclaims department she was in and she just said "we are calling all customers".  "Customers of who?".  "I just need to know whether you took out any loans or credit cards before 2007".  "I'm afraid I'm not going to give you that information unless I understand where you are calling from".  "Ok, no problem, thank you for your time, goodbye".

Very suspicious.  I'm wondering if I should report this to someone?

An Indian guy has phoned me up twice from this number now saying that I owe money on a loan [which I don't].  He said he was a reclaimer [!!}  This last time [21st July 2009] I rang 1471 then rang the number and a voice message said that I would be charged 12p a minute; that the number had been allocated to Damere St in Hampshire but was no longer in use.  Is there no way these people can be stopped?  I have reported it to Crimestoppers as I think they are scammers.

Just had a call from a man saying he was from the "Ministry of Justice" and that my mortgage had been written off. Needless to say that I thought that that was complete rubbish so I told him so and hung up.

Found I'd been called by this number just before I got in. (checked 1471) I'm obviously getting far too suspicious in my old age and googled the number before calling back.

Never give them any details untill you know who they are and where they are calling from. You might even ask to call them back.

My guess is its a scam.
