For anyone who is with BT, sign up with the 'Choose to Refuse' service.
Start by dialling 150 followed by press 1, then press 2, then press 4 and finally press 3. You will have to order the service and you will be given a code number consisting of 5 digits and a Pin number of 4 digits plus a sequence to follow which includes the star button and the number you wish to block, which in my case is 07024122123.
The service is free for the first 28 days and thereafter about £10.50 a quarter.

    Good luck.

I just received a phone call from a male with an Indian accent, who knew both mine and my partner's full names. He said he was from "BT Broadband Customer Services" (we are BT customers, actually) and that "our computers were sending a signal" which showed them that our PCs are "impregnated with viruses" and that "all our computer system is about to collapse" if we do not purchase some anti-viral software they could send us, etc... I told him I wasn't interested. He hung up.

Keep getting calls from this number asking for a mrs perryman told them not me. Then they said they where calling on behalf of talktalk as I am with them it got my attention. They then wanted my name and all my details told them to get lost, if they are with talktalk they should already have that information. Be careful

This number called last night (17th March) Indian sounding man asked to speak to Hyde (no Mr or Mrs) Just the surname. When I asked who was calling he said he was from BT Technical services and that tests on our line showed that there was a virus on my computer. I told him I was certain there wasn't. This went on for a minute or so. He must have realised that I wasn't going to play ball by asking him what to do, so he said that he was not trying to sell me anything or get me to do anything and that I should check my computer soon. He then hung up.

10:53 today - I had call from this number, he said his name was Tony and he was calling from Technical Support about my Broadband and how was the performance of my Broadband and that of my PC.  I interrupted and asked what company he is from and he said he covers all Broadband companies and they were calling everyone who has Broadband and a PC.  I asked how he got his information to identify who had Broadband and/or a PC and he started to continue with his questions when I asked the question again and he hung up on me.

Buy a referee whistle, warn everybody in the house that you are about to use it, give it all you've got down the phone, hey presto no more calls.

Had a call from an Indian woman on Monday talking about my creidt rating and how she could help me with my debt and wanted to know details of my credit cards and mortgage etc.  Told her I worked for a bank and she got very abusive, put the phone down on her.  Agree with the whistle suggestion, have one by the phone now.

£40 a year is lot to pay just to get obvious con artists to stop calling you.  Surely BT should withdraw the number from their end.

For now I've just put this number in my phone directory so it comes up with the name Spam.  So I can answer it with a whistle, wind them up for a laugh or ignore it depending on my mood.

Today's con was to tell me that The Bank of England has delared that all credit card interest rates are too high and am due for a big refund.  Isn't that great?!  I said, No it's a load of crap and hung up.  Why they call back every time I tell them off.  I will never know.

Just had a call from this number.  Caller hung up.

It seems as if their model for making money is calling numbers where no-one answers.
Then, someone arrives home, sees the strange number, and calls them.
They make money from this, and can hold your call off-latch.

Got home from holiday to find I'd been called three times by 07024122123 on 1st April at 18.55, 19.05 & 19.16. No messages were left on my voice-mail and I thought the number looked a bit odd so I googled it and found this site. Now I keep a personal attack alarm by my phone. As it makes a very painful noise indeed I'm almost hoping they ring again!

I had a call from this number today a bank holiday and it was an indian man who asked to speak to me as my husband answered the phone, when I went to the phone he asked if I was having any problems with my broadband as they have computer engineers who can fix my computer, I said no thank you and hung up. They rang me on my land line, who the hell are these people and as for the regD3J3istry where no unwanted calls ring the number, what a load of crap this is and where the hell do they get my number from
