Report a phone call from 07024122123 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- PeterReceived call at 8.20pm on 29th July 09. When I answered by just saying hello, there was silence I said it again, and was about to end the call thinking it was the usual "silent call from an automated dialling system", when a mail Asian sounding voice said my surname and then he was extremely abusive, telling me to F... off etc. When I asked who it was he said something about the "ministry of justice" as this didn't ring true I asked again only to recieve another load of abuse and what he would (sexually) do to my wife! and that I was a F...g idiot. To which I replied that he was the idiot for paying to call me. He hung up. Checking 1471 I was surprised to find the number 07024122123. It has been reported to both BT and the Police. If it's a scam I can only think that if I had rung back it would have cost me a fortrune! This needs to be stopped I'm going to report this to ofcom.
- JaneReceived a call from the above number at 13:3? on Sat 1st Aug. After a couple of seconds there was a blast of music, then silence for a couple of seconds during which time I made a comment to my son who was standing beside me that if they were going to play any music, they should at least play something decent... A voice then came over the phone saying I was a "creepy woman" and they rang off. 1471 revealed the number. I called it to discover the number was for Day Mystery of Petersfield, Hants, but was no longer in use. Various charge rates were provided and also a web address, sounded like 'daymere-street'. I cannot locate them through google but got a link to this site, so am reporting this.
- j stephensonI received a call from this number on Sat 1st Aug 16:11, I found it difficult to understand him but he kept saying that the Bank of England had said they could write off my loan if I took it out before (April I think) 2007 and he asked me if I knew who the Bank of England were! He said that they would take on my case as no win/no fee and I would have to pay 2x £50 if I won the case and nothing if I lost, he also said that I could get a minimum of 3-4k in compensation, he then went on to say that he wanted a deposit of 2x £50 which was refundable if I lost. He said I would recieve a claims pack and I would only pay the deposit if I was completely happy with everything. He then went on to ask what card I would use if I went ahead with it, when I said I didn't konw the details of the card, he said he would hang on whilst I got the card, I just left them hanging.
We have had some strange calls recently from different numbers who have said they were doing market research, my mum thought the call was for me and passed the phone over, by this time they had hung up, this happened twice. One number when I did 1471 was 01113!- Caller: no idea, couldn't understand him
- WitheldMy father in law just received a call fom this number, asking for my wife by her maiden name. (Married for 3 years and not lived at home for 7!).
Needless to say he wasn't too appreciative of the call and as soon as he asked how they got their number they hung up.
Reading back through the history of posts, it seems clear that they are trying to get card/account details and changing the plot of the scam to whatever is the flavour of the month. Mis-sold loan insurance is currently getting a lot of TV ad time so...- Caller: Legal Team Expert
- karenhad a call from this number late at night saying they were bt technical internet assistance. The problem being i dont have internet with bt and i would of thought if i had a problem and i was with bt i would call them first not the other way around. I thought it was dodgy so didnt forward or confirm any details to them so people beware who your caller is and never confirm or give details to anyone on the phone.
- PhilomenaI think Jane means "Danemere Street Creative". I was checking out info on another phone number and Danemere Street Creative shows up as having been allocated several blocks of telephone numbers with the code 07024.
- tr1212Called saying he was from pc support with the usual "how are you today madam" Asked what he was selling as i didn't have time, and he said we are selling total pc support for your computer!! I said no thanks and hung up.
- Caller: PC Support
- RachelI have just had a call off this number, i work in telecomms and i know the law. i was called at 9:20. the law states no calls after 9.
The indian lady asked for my husband when i said he was not in she hung up no thank you.
I tried to ring back and got some message about the number not being in use.
Think it is some kind off scam i will report the number to OFCOM and i recomend other people do too. - nj isle of wight9.24pm 15/09/09 call ffrom this number. introduced themselves as "ministry of justice" in connection with either a loan or mortgage from 2007 but quoted my old address from 4 years ago as the address in connection. clearly clutching at straws and some kind of scam but as a financial adviser i am fairly clued up on whats what in respects of data protection and who should be calling me at 9.24pm about my finances. so i spent the next few moments checking out the information he had and asked him for more information which he was unable to provide. i asked for this issue which he had not actually got onto yet to be communicated to me in writting which he assured me would be the case. lastly when i said he was clearly not on a level he told me not to worry i would be getting "a visit" anyway. nice! with all these emails and comments how come these people are still able to try to steal peoples money? i shall be reporting in the morning.
- Caller: damier st, petersfield, hamps
- maadmaangot call from tnis number this evening. Some "indian" chap telling me he from department of justice, wanting to speak to my wife about an old debt- what worried me was that he knew who he was asking for!!!!.
Tried to dial the number back but still connected. Going to call BT and get the number banned.- Caller: dept of justice (!)
- KrystleI have had A call from some guy saying i called him!
who/what is this number? - devonHad these chaps ring us several times, pretending to be from "our broadband supplier", then proceeded to say that as a good customer we were to receive a free service except it would require a one off payment. They rang at 8pm and we were still beig hassled till 9pm even though I had repeatedly told them that I wasn't interested in buying anything and would not sign up to anything without documented proof of what they were supplying.
They even rang us back claiming to be a police officer having had a report of abuse. This was within seconds of us slamming the phone down. I had the insight to demand a return contact number and details of the police station he was calling from and said I'd call back to verify who he was. I then did 1471 and got this number and checked it on the internet so when he rang back, they're very persistent!, I told him I had full details of who he was and to not ring again. He did ring again but now he has become abusive sexually so I've unplugged the phones. I'll be taking the infomration to the police tomorrow and suggest others do the same.- Caller: bt then woddbridge police station suffo
- Nut MagnetHi..
I keep getting calls some using this number and i believe the same people are able to somehow hide their number as they keep asking for a Miss W.
I started off being very helpful advising them that this number is now mine and i do not know any Miss W as she must have been the previous holder of the number. I have asked who is calling and they refuse to tell me.
Having got fed up with being polite i started being annoying by telling the caller hold the line while Miss W came to the phone, and then i'd just leave the handset beside the television or Hifi for an hour.
Now i'm sooooooo fed up as soon as i hear Miss W mentioned i explode and shout down the phone and let off with every swear word i know. This really upsets them and i've enjoyed letting off steam at these callers. - BJust had a very distressing call from this number - seems like asian 'John' wanted me to boot computer up so he could offer me 'BT pccomp technical support' for all my computer needs (printers/scanners) dishwasher???, wouldn't take no for an answer but gave me his number to ring him tomorrow (029288851) - turned selling technical help into a religious/love and prophecy call - creepy and weird - on being told EX Dir hung up - did 1471 and 07024122123 came up hmmmmm! Reported to authorities - lets see what happens next!!!
- JoeI have had a call like many of the others here. What I can say is no one will do anything the Police said they can do nothing my telephone company says they can do nothing so looks like noting will be done.
- Caller: Danemere Street
- PhilI've just had a call from this company. They were selling PC virus support packages. They said because I pay my broadband bills on time I would get a good deal. When I asked them to comfirm who my broadband supplier was he said 'BT'. They were wrong on both counts. However they did know my full name and address details so obviously someone has sold them my details
- RajanI had a call from the same number. It was an African sounding woman who said her name was "Peter Jackson" (isnt he a film director lol). She/he said she was from the Ministry of Justice and wanted to know details about bank charges and bank details.
I told her I had 2.5Billion pounds worth of debt when she started to become abusive, telling me to go to hell and f*** off.
Reported it to the Police. What is rather annoying about the situation is that I was considering paying for the service where no id callers are automatically blocked. But it they send a fake number like this it will still come through!!- Caller: Ministry of Justice appantly lol
- AngelaI've just had a call from this number. An Asian sounding guy asked if I was Mrs Fawcett. I said yes, (as this is my partners name and its usually easier to agree), he then said he was calling from the Legal department of (some company name I couldn't make out) about my loans, debt or mortgage. I asked him to repeat himself, which he did (still couldn't make out the company name) so I said 'I don't know what you are talking about' at which point he just said goodbye and hung up.
- David MThis number called 2nite and just played music for around 5 seconds then hung up....
- Caller: ?????????????????????
- RogerJust had call from same number from Indian sounding lady claiming to be from Computer Action Services.
I pointed out we were on TPS and she said we weren't. I then asked for a telephone contact number - she gave us a local number of a friend of the wife!
I then said I was going to contact TPS about them, and she started saying I was being abusive, so I hung up. She then phoned back twice immediately claiming I was abusive.- Caller: Computer Action(?) Services
