same for me - calls about 2-4 times a day and just goes dead - I know companies use multiple caller programs that ring lots of number but disconects from them when first number connects.
this is on my mobile which is really annoying!

Grrrrr!  This number has called me about three times a day in the last few days!  Really annoying!

Just started an MBNA card and got a call from this number too - hah, I think I see a connection too :)

Why doesnt these compnies have the balls to give us their home phone numbers so we can phone them all hours of the day and night.................Reported to BBC Watchdog  Had enough suggest everyone else does same.

Having received evening calls from this number (claiming to be Eon) I sent this email to: directorofCustomerService@eonenergy.com

I do not want to be pestered by Stellar UK (claiming to be Eon). I do not want to be called at 8:30 in the evening with marketing calls.

Please take this as notice, and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, that I want you to stop processing my data for the purposes of direct marketing. Please be aware that under the provision of said act "direct marketing" means the communication (by whatever means) of any advertising or marketing material which is directed to particular individuals.

Keep getting called by this number. Silence on the other end.

I've just had my application accepted for a virgin/mbna credit card and now get an 08000 191 773 silent phone call.  Why does anyone make a phone call and then hang up without speaking to anyone - must have money to burn.  Wonder if it is a case of their operatives making a certain amount of calls per day.

It has been explained to me that automatic machine makes about 1000 call at one time and who ever picks up the 'phone first gets answered!!  Also they have a web site but I lost the page and cannot find it again.

I called BT about nuisance and silent calls,  they gave me this no. to register with 0870 444 3969 also they said that calls from abroad did not have the same regulations as we have in the UK. Hope this will help you and me!

Just phoned them and discovered they are a cold call loan provider

Had a call tonight claiming to be from Lloyds TSB offering me an upgrade on my account, they even ask you for your account details!  I have had other calls from another 08000 number selling Lloyds Life Insurance on my mobile and home numbers - I have been on the TPS register for years and its still happening.  Time to go to Trading Standards and Watch Dog I think.  The numbers are all part of LBM marketing as soon as I mentioned there name the woman ended the call - funny that isnt it!  LBM are being investigated as we speak so everyone report it to trading standards and ofcom

Silent phone call at 14:41 23rd June.

Had 5 silent calls in last two days from them.  VERY annoying!

I've started to get calls from this number too, after finding it on here I decided to call it back only to hear a message reporting that they are Stella UK (as already mentioned). It also reported to call 0845 130 7252 if you want to be removed.

Upon calling this number you are greeted by an answer phone. I've left two messages now, the second being more abrupt than the first. I'm still awaiting a call back.

If they fail to call by the middle of next week, I'll report them to TPS and Ofcom I think.

Whats the most annoying sound you can play down a phone line - except "take that" songs.

I would like to be as a nnoying to them as they are to me.

We took out a virgin credit card a couple of weeks ago, and this week we started getting the calls from this number, found out from this site who it was, rang 01294225300 and asked to be taken off their calls list.  We were told that although we're registered with the tps, the fact that we had given our number out to virgin after that meant they could ring it.  I made sure I ticked the boxes on the application for my information not to be passed to third parties.

Had a call from 08000191773 (obtained by dialing 1471) stating that it was EON and wanted to know about our central heating boiler service contract.  I asked what their 'phone number was and was told 08000678084?  When I refused to give details the caller hung up.

Kept getting repetitive calls from this number at the same time each day after signing up for a Virgin Credit Card.  Called 01294 225 300 as suggested and helpful lady apologised and removed my details from the system.  I will be complaining to Ofcom and Virgin though.
