This number called me and woken me up my brain was not registered yet and asked to speek to me (my name) so i sead yes the man said he was from job senter regarding my income suport then he asked my security questions what was my date of birth i gave him that then he asked my post code i gave him that the he asked is eny one living with me wjo iv not declerd ar do i clame disability allowance then asked if i have eny saving then he seaid can u confirm how often i get paid then he asked do i have eny other bank account i confiremed the anser i feel like it was suspicious when i hang up i the sat and thought about it it satarday at 9.46 i dident no the were open to day i so suspicious i gave ansered a load of questions on a phone when there is a lot of con men abot what was i thinking im going to call income support and adk them if it as one of there team

it was a man's voice who claimed to be from Department Of Work And Pensions he phoned me on 16th December 2014 at 2:19pm on Tuesday and started asking me if I have any savings put away and do I have any money coming in I have an appointment to see my chiropidist and when I come back out I will be paying the D.H.S.S office a visit to find out who phoned me and he could be involved in the web address, tcgtkrkr.com(unsafe) cash cube grabbers who have stolen £382.00 out of my bank account through the internet connection where I kept getting blocked all of the time

Government departments are appalling. This is not a safe way to address claims involving personal information. Trust no-one over the phone to share identity information!!!

I has recieved a numberous telephone calls from you and no one ever speaks and i wish it would stop. I would be grateful if you would stop ringing me

this number called me three times while i was in school so i don't answer but called me a fourth time and the women would not tell me anything but asked if i could answer some questions so i said no and hung up but then my mum called the number and it said that i didn't have to call back and if they needed to they would call me again they being work place and pensions but i've only just turned 16?

I got a call from this number 08000232635 (didn't answer because I google numbers I don't know/aren't expecting) Found this site and others stating it's DWP, I knew I had an ongoing issue so was fearing the worst.

Called back and got through to a very pleasant woman named Jean, who suggested she call me back to save credit (awesome). She called back and after answering security questions (name, dob, address and sign on day) she told me it was about my reconsideration letter about my ~5 months of sanctions relating to the mandatory work program.

She was very helpful and now I'm being backdated all the money I had sanctioned.

10/10 would take call from again.

I work for the DWP eople. We callz u lazy [***] bludgers to see if you got the mobile 2 da phone. If u answer it we knowz your on your mobiles so u can walk to a bus stop to get a job.

They gave me the boot for spilling da beanz on panorama so now I get da calls I used 2 make.

When dwp or job centre text a mobile,their id on display says jobcentre or dwp.
Even If their nunber is not stored in your phone contacts list!
Dont answer any 08000 numbers.
Protect your personal info peeps.

I had this number call me today at 07:58am and missed the call by seconds. When I phoned the number back, as other posters have put on here it mentioned the call was from the DWP and they would phone me back if they needed to. I phoned them back on their 0845 number and When I spoke to someone they said there was no reason for them to contact me either for my carers allowance or income support claim.

I came on here trying to find out if this was really the DWP and after digging around on the internet found out this number 08000232635 belongs to the Benefits Integrity Centre who are legitimate. They are phoning to detect fraudulent claimants and to double check the information given on your claim is correct. If you aren't happy providing this information on the phone they will send you a letter with a long winded form to fill out which is time limited for you to respond.

I am now awaiting for them to call me back as I am quite happy to answer any questions they have as I have nothing to hide.

They could be calling you about a review of your benefits. That happened to a friend of mine. Hope that helps

I do not believe that. It is an 08000 not a 0800, and why would DWP phone as such times as 7.45am and 6.25pm
They have no reason to phone me what so ever. If they do want me they will have to send some thing thro' the post.
ALL the numbers I have had starting 08000 are blocked now they have all been bad calls

Phoned twice asking for B&M even though I said she had wrong number first time she called. Now makes sense - DWP sending another desperate youngster to work unpaid without any training for 30+ hours a week 'voluntary' work experience at B&M ....
