Yep just rang my land line and then my mobile phone and in the end they rang again and someone was on the other end of the line from the Job Center plus

Each department in the DHSS system is using another one to delay a clame but its strange that i got none of this trouble when paying my N.I contributions all those years.

Yes they are scammers, you have been scammed by the MAFIA state all your life

they don't leave a message as it is a security breach. if they left your national insurance number or any other details on the voicemail, they can't guarantee that it will reach you and not someone else

I got 2 calls from this number today on my mobile voice mail, they did not state who they was or what they wanted, the person who spoke the first time round sounded indian (alarm bells) i do not find it odd that when my sick note had not arrived by our totally useless postal service, so i took a duplicate to my local job centre to fax through to the dwp, they requested i put my mobile number on the sick note to get a text stating they had received it, no such text came through but they did receive it, the following day this strange number called, like others above i am continuously aware of scams namely by indian people from off shore call centres, i would not be surprised if the dwp is unwittingly giving out our info (the sick note has quiet a lot of details on it about someone) or they are directly doing so, but either way the dwp (esa) has no idea of this number or what department it belongs to, they was suppose to call me back but i guess they have forgotten my number all of a sudden! but from what i can see is the dwp and our government are in fact in breach of the data protection act as they are unwilling to change the laws and thus are being paid somewhere along the lines (hence why i do not answer to "unknown numbers" that bt often sale to anyone willing to buy numbers for a corrupt business) if i was you, i would contact the dwp and tell them to stop unknown partnerships that the dwp has set up to ask stupid questions when the forms are available or any notice of an incoming call!! as they will not be answered (calls probably coming from manchester which its inhabitancy seem to be completely indian speaking people).

All it takes is one dodgy indian person to see our details and pass them onto someone else (telemarketing makes a lot of money out of our personal info, how ever dodgy there measures are to obtains ones private info is endorsed by the government. i will also contact the dwp tomorrow as they are unwilling to contact me, and inform them i will be making a complaint to the ico who are already investigating the job centre over its very sad and improper construction of there job centre website that they lyingly make everyone join (you do not have to join the website under the data protection act) read the sites disclaimer "it will not be responsible for any damaged done to your computer or software while using there site" so don't use it!, the site in question is flawed to the hilt, its got loads of viruses and is hacked daily for private info and the job centre admit one in 3 jobs are fake so don't use there website, look for jobs the old fashioned way as the website will undoubtedly also try sending you on jobs outside london or the uk even.

Also for those unaware, the "job centre" is not a place to find work or be directed to a new job, that went out the window about 10 years ago, all they do is handle claimants wether new or old and demand you provide proof to your job search otherwise they could not careless about "YOU" actually thats been about the same since benefits started many years ago, to those told you are being supported by the tax payer, yes yourself, our government pays for our tax and national insurance contributions on our behalf so you can tell the inherently stupid idiots that your paying for yourself via your own taxes not others (if we did not pay tax we probably would be banned from voting like prisoners are) so you are paid to look for work (not to survive on or you be dead in a month on what they claim one can survive on, i do not even want to imagine who they got to live off £142 a fortnight to prove it is possible to survive on such an amount!!! maybe it was in the lowest priced supermarket in the country)……….

further to my above statement, i have discovered that the dwp does not make outgoing calls with a id of 0800 of any kind if it appears on your id display the dwp will use either a 0345 number or it will not show at all…

so i find it odd that the dap has your numbers on your account held with them, as my number was put on my sick note i have come to the conclusion that someone in the benefit office (not just one of them but looking at this number seems to be a lot) are unhappy with how much they are paid and are either taking the info by hand or taking a snapshot of the info from peoples sick notes, also i have never heard of the dap contacting someone to "review" there info is correct sounds like a fishing scam where they have taken the little info off your sick note and fish for the rest, this person or persons do not have full access to the computer accounts or we would all be inundated with scam calls, so on that note do not tell them a thing this number is a scam fishing for information, i am also requesting from esa to do a full investigation into the conduct of there employees as this is a serious breach of the data protection act! i will post up here my findings after i speak with stratford handling centre this morning….

please check page 13, it is not the dwp it is a scam with a previous recorded message to make you feel at ease, it is a fishing scam trying to obtain more info just ignore them…., the the dwp will not contact anyone to review the info they just given with in the same year as its pointless and very time consuming to do so (is it not odd they speak with a indain accent do you not question the id of these so called department that is suddenly being very secretive to any response to find out who they are and what secret department they are working for, its not mi5 or mi6 so ignore the fishing scams…...

Got this call today from a british young lady from Stratford DWP. She only asked to confirm my address and DOB but then went on to say the mortgage statement I provided as one of my proof of ID is in the name of me and Mrs. They were suspicious the ex-wife was still living with me. How ridiculous!! Told her, the ex left some 2 years ago now and the divorce was granted towards the end of last year. When I claimed contributions based JSA in 2012 and again in March this year no-one ever batted an eye lid?? In fact, this young lady didn't even know I was claiming "contributions based JSA" until I told her to check as it makes no difference if you have someone living with you when claiming "contributions based JSA". They're so bloody incompetent I must say!!! She even went on to say she may need to send me an additional form to fill in to provide more info on the fact that I am truly divorced. Good job I've got my first coaching session tomorrow at jobcentrelpus because I will be bringing this up with the coach and get them to follow it up - additionally, my mobile records conversations so I will be playing the call back to the coach - let's see what happens...

Number is really the Job Centre wanting to do pointless data accuracy checks. The whole thing is a shambles, bad calling etiquette, and completely unaccounted for by the Job Centre. I believe it is probably some 3rd party company acting on behalf of the Job Centre.. possibly from Ramsgate.. the DWP don't know anything about it when you enquire to see if they are actually doing checks on your account. My partner had 3 missed calls and a voice mail simply saying they would call back, from them, then; when she went to sign on she was told she had been suspended for not filling in a JSA2 form. Seems if you miss calls from this company they are supposed to send you a form (which they didn't).. the day after being told she was suspended, she received a letter saying her Job Seekers Allowance had been stopped completely!
So her job search just got a lot harder.. Me and food banks are propping her up.
So, even though it seems dodgy, I would suggest answering their questions and getting this number out of your life as soon as possible, because they have way more power than you would think.

Got a phone call from the DWP via this number last week at 5.15pm but and told them, it was not convenient for me at this time, had a look on the internet to see if it was a scam but seems to be DWP.

Today I got a call back and they seems to have the information needed and was a 25 min interview to check my status and if there will be any changes in my Jobseekers allowance, so it seems the Jobseekers are doing your year reviews of your claims over the phone instead of going to the local job Centre office to do it there.

This number called me on my landline and I didn't answer it in time so they rang my mobile, they then went through a form and they confirmed some other details after I wouldn't give them my date of birth, they then confirmed some information so I could confirm who they were. They then went though a JSA application form and I didn't give any information except yes or no, no personal information like bank accounts or things like that. Which is odd as I have not applied for anything else in quite a while.

I will contact JCP tomorrow and confirm they actually made the call in the first place then report back here.

I rang the jobcentre plus and they told me no one had called me from there, so I assuming this is a scam or their records are so bad they have no record of calling me.

    Tim, the same one
When I signed on I checked with them in person and they did say it was a review conducted over the phone from a call centre in Bradford.  They even showed me the record of it on the screen.

Call from Benefits Office Watford 17th December 2014 to pre-warn about a letter asking for further information that would be coming out towards the end of January; what a wast of tax-payers money.

The DWP DO make calls from 0800 numbers. I had a from them, phoned them (0345 number) and asked for someone to call me back which they did and it was from an 0800 number.

They also DO call to review benefits and some of their operators DO have non English accents. It all depends on an individual's circumstances.

I've not had a problem with them and I deal with my own and a relative's claims.  Obviously you are but that doesn't mean everyone else is or that they are being scammed, conned, phished or anything else.  Horses for courses.
