caller purports to be from BT, to discuss your account. Problem is, I don't and have never had a BT account.

Called 9.35am. No message, I ignored it. If this is BT then they should leave a message.

Called us today, saying they are bt and wanted our account number, we we refused they told us to call 150 for info then hung up

Dont call any of these numbers back. That is the scam.  The call will be to a premium cost line and could cost you a fortune..

who is this company

I have had many calls from this number. I don't answer. My latest one was this morning, Good Friday. They never give up do they? Well, they'll have a long wait because I won't answer the phone to them - ever. I'm not even with BT so maybe a scam to get me to switch to them. No thanks, too much trouble with them in the past.

Just reported this number above. I now notice they have made numerous calls to an old mobile phone I keep in the car in case of emergencies. Goodness knows where they got that number from. This is a 13 year old phone I haven't used for about 5 years. I thought it would be useful to keep in the car in case of emergencies and it does still work. Very strange.

Called to ask why I had cancelled second direct debit, which shouldn't have been set up. I had indeed cancelled it two days before. Scary how they knew, if it was a scam. As I had been having mega problems with BT for months, they got a piece of my mind. They hung up and probably regreted calling me! I then called BT, with a number I've had for years and was told that the call was a scam, along with the second DD that had been set up, however when I was put through to India again to check that they hadn't taken the second DD, I was told it wasn't a scam and they are going to refund me! Confused!

We had a BT broadband fault and rang to report it, 24 hours later had a call from this number to arrange an engineers visit, the 8am until 1pm schedule has just passed. I wish they would ring again so that I can have a go at them.

An oriental lady said she was from BT and asked for my my name, address etc. I refused and said I'd ring then back as they could be Sabine ringing from anywhere. I checked number and

It's BT. Called me 4 times today so far.
I sent them an e-mail asking a question they seem not to want to answer when i phoned them.So i emailed them demanding an answer by email and not to phone me as i wanted the answer in writing,so of course they ignore my email and phone me.
One thing is for sure,i am leaving BT and going somewhere that is a lot cheaper,talk talk,plusnet,even sky are cheaper,so bye  bye BT.

This number rang my mobile phone twice within a minute, each time letting it ring just once and then hanging up BEFORE I could even answer it. Their number was in RED on my calls list (normally black). B.T. will not tell me for sure whether this number What was even more strange - it just so happens that my B.T. landline isn't working! A bit weird all round.

Looking at the rest of the replies it appears it is a legitimate BT call but they called me and the first thing they said was this is BT  what is your username and password ....in this day and age ,not the best opening line ...refused to give them it as I pointed out that they phoned me ....so hung up ...poor stuff BT

This is a BT customer services call.  I had a problem a week previous and reported slow speed on my connection, The man checked the line and is sending me a new router, he keeps calling back to report on progress.
This is good service from BT which people are not use to.

keep getting calls from this number claiming to be from bt about outstanding balance, all my accounts are on monthly debit .called bt no balance outstanding. next time he phoned told em to [***] still keeps calling beware

Nuisance call, telling me about an accident I haven't had, then went on to tell me I have a medical complaint, that I haven'thad. Who the hel pays these people? Said their name so quickly, I couldn't catch it!
