Log a complaint with your bank, check out the FSA guidance on recurrent card payments and unauthorised payments, the banks can stop the payment, I've complained, but they attempted to fob me off, so I've sent a response to their fob off and written to the Financisl Onbudsman Service.  You should ask for the £60.00 fee back, they're not looking after your interests, and clearly the protection they've sold isn't worth much.  The companies are crooks, but the some banks are not doing anywhere near enough.

Read FSA guadance 'Know your rights' log a complaint with your bank.  Having this happen once is more than enough, some banks stop it happening, some don't, keep on at yours until they become batter at protecting your interests.

I had poundsaver try to take first £1.60 then £99.95 from my capital one card. The transaction failed as they tried to use my old card details details. Cap. One gave me 0800 0962 925 to call. This is apparently poundsaver customer services. Someone called Brian sounded helpful and promised to cancel my details from their records. Poundsaver seem to handle payments to TV discount channels(?) and the Daily Mail amongst others. NB You may have to wait a while for an answer but it is an 0800 number.

I got a refund, took about 10 days, but am still in dispute with my bank as they took the view that it was my problem, and that I had to cancel it with Classic Living and Poundsaver, we'll see what the outcome is - I've also written to FOS, ICO, Trading Standards.  The banks can stop it, but for reasons only known to them not all of them do.  It's no different to having your card skimmed, the banks can and should be doing mre otherwise these folks will continue to get a very good income without even having to go out of the office and face the people they're robbing.

We're all looking here because we've been ripped off, if we all just moan on here but don't follow through by reporting it more widely this'll get worse, especially now we've all had to go digital - which means more vulnerable people who don't have access to the internet are going to get hit - and maybe not even realise that they have.  Complain to your bank, complain to the company you originally dealt with as they've mis-used your bank/personal details, and then report their response to the ICO, report it as fraud to your bank, write to trading standards, wtchdog and the OFT.  If we shout together we're more likely to get this stopped.  These people are probably getting very rich from this, and it's been around for several years now, and if we just moan and don't do anything more it'll be around for several years to come.

Just refuse to take it on the phone...

I had it and didn't use the discounts only the hotel vouchers, phoned up and said I no longer wanted to continue and they stopped.

If people listened instead of just agreeing on the phone or signing up through a newspaper this wouldn't happen.

I've just been hit with this SCAM too. And it is a scam - otherwise why try and hide the extortionate payments that they take (£89.95 and £39.95) for services that I have no interest in, without any authorisation or explanation. This happened when I bought something on the phone from Thane Direct, after I was categorically told by the sales person that my account would not be charged any more money. NEVER AGAIN will I buy anything from this company! I rang the Poundsaver organisation on 0800 096 2925 after getting the number from my bank (who also see them as a scam, by the way) and demanded my money back. They refunded my account immediately, but this practice of selling something without explaining the consequences is completely unscrupulous and should not be allowed. In my view it is bordering on fraudulent - certainly it is mis-selling.

This number 0800 107 7333 is for Membership Services (Ireland) who had taken money from my daughter's account which they say was authorised via a verbal contract when my daughter bought something from a TV channel called BNI Media and they said she agreed to joining as a member of a subscription service, which she did not. She did not have any paperwork or sign anything but they managed to take out two amounts and the bank paid it to them. She has told the bank of the correct number to give out to their customers if they get caught out and has queried with her bank why they paid it out of her account. Good Luck - she spoke to Michael of Membership Services (*Ireland") and after a long explanation from him, over and over again, she kept saying the same thing "Michael you are not giving me the right answer and therefore I will hound you down until you pay back this money and will be informing the police, Watchdog and any other interested parties, until you give me the money back" and eventually he said the funds would be paid back to her account within 10 days- and to her surprise they were within about 3/4 days. Please give it a try and tell the operative on the telephone that they are not giving you the right answer and that you will hound them until they do. It does work

THIS COMPANY HAVE TAKEN £151.00 IN TOTAL OUT OF MY ACOUNT WITHOUT ME KNOWING ANYTHING. WHEN I QUERIED THIS I BOUGHT A EXERCISE DEVICE OFF THE TELEVISION CHANEL ABOUT 15 MONTHS AGO. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PACKAGE FROM CLASSIC LIVING, THEY OFFERED TO SEND ME ANOTHER PACK AND I REFUSED AND ASKED FOR MY MONEY TO BE PAID BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT. THE LADY ON THE PHONE SAID IT WOULD GO BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT IN 5 WORKING DAYS WHEN I THREATENED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY MONEY SO FAR. MY BANK HAS ALSO SENT THEM A LETTER TO RECOVER THE MONEY.

I just checked my credit card statement and found 2 payments of £1.60 after making a purchase online
and phoned the credit card company to cancel the payments.  Also phoned PoundSaver direct to cancel the £3.20.  They said as soon as you purchase from certain companies online they get the business - I told them I won't buy anything again from a tv ad and take my name off their list.

When you spoke to the manager, and were able to get your money back, did you have to give your card details? They have taken £89.95 plus £39.95 and two lots of £ 1.60 from my account, none of which I authorised, and knew nothing about this until I got my bank statement. I have already spoken to my bank ( Barclays ) who are supposedly looking into it. I intend to ring the company ( Classic Living), and complain, but would like to know if I would have to give my card details, which I am reluctant to do.

Instruct your Bank to stop allowing any charges at all from these people  being allowed to leave your account.         They might say that they cannot do that.   They are wrong.     Have a look at this newspaper article and insist that they follow your instructions and the law.

If they continue to say NO, ask immediately for the name and contact details for their Area Manager.   Phone him, tell him what is happening, tell him what you want done, and make it clear to him that his staff need urgent training.

Like the rest of you, my wife has been scammed by Poundsaver and Classic Living to the tune of
£ 133. We had never heard of them until we saw the deductions on the bank statement. I shall be attempting to contact the company in the morning to seek a refund, but in any event I shall be calling in the Police over this. There are criminal offences here of Theft, Obtaining property ( i.e. cash ) by deception, false accounting and possibly forgery. I am a retired Police Officer and I intend to take this all the way to the criminal courts if necessary, irrespective of whether I get refunded.

I contacted my Bank, Barclays, re this unauthorised deduction, and they have reimbursed the full amount within 24 hours. Good on you Barclays - 10 out 0f 10. They are sending me some forms to complete re this matter, which have to be returned within 10 days, or they will withdraw the money.
I have also contacted Poundsaver by phone on 08000962925, and asked for Brian Minto, the manager. He was very pleasant and apologetic and without hesitation agreed to reimburse the full amount taken. He informed me that the shopping channel JCM or whoever, handle or promote Poundsavers discount vouchers and reduced hotel accomodation. I informed him that I was very concerned that JCM had passed on our debit card details, and I have written to the Information Commissioner.
I would recommend that if you have any issues first contact your bank, and then give Brian Minto a ring. I shall wait and see if he is as good as his word, but I have no reason to doubt him at present. I shall then inform my bank to take back their money.
Needless to say we won't be doing any more TV shopping.

I bank with Barclays and I had to register a dispute with them. It is important to do this. I don't know what sort of account you have with them, but Barclays have credited my account with the full amount within 24 hours. Be persistent with them. Also ask them to make sure that no future payments are made to this company. I believe they are obliged to do this.
Also ring 08000962925, which is LV8Poundsaver and speak to the manager Brian Minto. I have just been speaking to him and he was very pleasant, helpful and apologetic and agreed to refund my money. Make sure you tell him to delete your details from their records.

Just to let you know, I had three sums of money taken from 2010 £89.95, 2011 £99.95, 2012 £99.95! I have originally bought goods through Pitch world who where offering vouchers for discounts for hotels & restuarants, i only noticed (as i now bank online) on 6th May 2012 a £99.95 had been taken by a company called Poundsaver.... I contacted my bank who where very helpful, however, the guy who is rightly upset from the 'proper' Poundsaver.co.uk was helpful with his links as i contacted them, explained i wanted a refund immediately as i had never agreed to any voucher offers, especially as i live in the channel Islands and would not benefit at all!  You need to be firm but not rude as the young lady i spoke to was very good... insist you want a refund or your bank will deal with it....... She sorted it all out!! Here are  my emails to my bank ....
"I called that number (08001077333) and spoke to a lady called Laura who works for 'Time Travel' a company that offers discounts for travellers. Thats where the vouchers and connection with Pitch World who offer these vouchers etc. I did stress as i live in Jersey I would definately have said no to accepting these vouchers as they would be of no use to me (most where for Uk hotels/restaurants/trains etc)
She was very helpful and has reassured me that i shall see a refund of £279.85 in my account (usually) within 5 working days! and has removed my details so it won't happen again! I must say, i really wasn't expecting this response as i was ready for a battle! She stressed it was a genuine offer and the person offering those vouchers would have gone through very clear rules about their use and cancelling"  and

    Good Morning
"As you where so helpful with my concerns regarding the 'annual standing order' i didn't know anything about!.... i am pleased to tell you, after dealing with 'Time Travel' they have now returned the three amounts of money they took from me from 2010 (£279.85) so result!"

Hope this helps anyone else - Rita

    Kind regards

    Margarita

I have just checked my bank account, last month £1.60 was unaccounted for this month £89.95 has been taken. After making enquiries I find that Poundsaver has taken the money and I have no idea who Poundsaver are.

After reading other reports I can only advise others not to buy from shopping channels.
