If caller unavailable could message be left

It's a generic NHS number - it was about an appointment that needed to be changed.

I've been getting calls from this number first to my landline.No message is left.Immediately my mobile is called.Straight after that a "fake" mobile number calls i.e. there are too many numbers in the mobile number to trace it.00441143277141.

Just got a call in this number from a boy asking for his mum to come and pick him up

It's a generic number used to identify all outgoing calls from NHS Scotland switch board. It won't accept incoming calls, so you can't call it back to find out the reason for the call!

Ok so alot of people are saying it's the NHS but I don't know anyone in Glasgow no one I know is in hospital and the NHS doesn't have my number, all these random numbers, like the ones that call about an accident you never had, or ppi or any other scam is all because google sells your number on to whoever they want and you cant do anything about it because it's in the terms and conditions of google that you agreed to when you got an account, pretty sure facebook does it to, because messenger instantly got my number as soon as I got the app and automatically put my number onto facebook

I answered this call, explained I was on another call at the moment, expecting the caller to wait for a moment after a moment returned to the caller, the line was dead.

This number calls three times every day for the last 8 days,  I don't answer so  can't say who is calling but  as they never leave any message,I presume it is a sales pitch of some sort.--A real pain---

It is NHS but when calling back it is a Yorkshire Bank . They get a lot of calls , something to do with mix up in lines as numbers are very similar  . NHS 0800 numbers does NOT accept incoming calls at all !!

This number rang today. Did not recognise. Did not answer. 1471 provided the number. Research shows it is an NHS telephone number used in Scotland. Cannot call back. I feel that NHS should get their act together, allow calls back, or have the return call redirected to the area hospital, clinic, surgery etc and not leave people worrying. Very unfair, and also rude. I've no medical issues pending, so cannot imagine why they called.

You've got to have your phone in your hand & finger poised over the answer button otherwise you'll miss the call!!!!

This is definitely some kind of generic portal number used by NHS Scotland. It is not, however, exclusive to Glasgow...as I received a call (which I was expecting) from Forth Valley Royal on this number.

p.s. As suggested previously by others, due to the nature of this number you can NOT return a missed call.

This number called me 3:45 this morning! I answered and got no response.

It says ayr hospital i dont no why they wuld be callin me cos we live 2 hours away frm there

agreed , nhs scotland have a generic phone number when a hospital calls you , this is that number!

They call my mobile but i have should i answer on my mobile so it never even rings my phone but when i phone it they say they don't recieve in coming calls

This number called me few minutes ago, didn't make it to the phone in time, tried ringing back 'does not accept incoming calls'  I hope it was NHS as I do await a message and trust they will try again.   :(

Think this is work force plannning Scottish ambulance service. They phone you via this number to show concern about your absence/sickness but actually it’s a passive attempt to push you back to work.
