I've just got them.  When I told them I subscribed to the Telephone Preference Service they didn't even know what that was! I've reported them but I doubt if that will stop them.  We must all report to TPS every time.

Had a call from a guy called Mark with a Welsh accent. I had just started to eat evening meal so asked him to call back in about 1 hr. I then went on this LIFE SAVING website and typed in Marks number and as i expected,it was a COLD CALLING [***] who was trying to Sucker me out of my hard earned money. When he did call back I just started quoting him the comments from all the previous comments on here and told him to remove my details from his database. With that I politely said goodbye and switched off.  The more people who report these PESTS on this site, the better chance we all have to get one jump ahead of them. REMEMBER. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER .........

Very persistant and convincing pair -  Steve Thomas and Zara.  They were getting nowhere with me as I kept asking them to repeat things and could not understand what they were going on about, so they asked to speak to my husband.  He said (like I did) that he would not agree to anything over the 'phone.  Steve agreed to send an email which arrived instantly.  Steve left his number for us to ring him back.
Have not heard from them again yet, but have now had a chance to research them, so they'll get harsh words if they try again.

i love how people just jump on the band wagon and saying about bad reviews of consortium on here when the majority of comments on here relate to the number of calls that people have received and also about cold callers, and not about the services they can provide, first off it isn't cold calling due to the fact that they get there information from a company called consumer lifestyle who carry out lifestyle survey's and consortium could not possibly have any information without the person completing one of them, so first point is if you do not wish to receive any calls from third party companies do not complete surveys, and secondly why write reviews on here slagging the company off when you have had calls from them??? that has nothing to do with the service they provide, have you seen how many bad reviews massive companies like tesco get on websites??? but that wouldnt stop you getting your eggs from there would it?

i would like to thank consortium for putting me into a debt management plan, i have already had my total amount of debt i owed reduced and the length of time that i would have been in debt reduced by 40% and i was lucky enough to get a nice ppi payout that i never even realised i was owed so thanks to them i have had a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and i shall be recommending them to my friends and family as i know they do provide a fantastic service

If this company are as honest as you make out, why have I not had any contact from them since they took money off my credit card back in August 2011. I have called them practically every month and got the same old story 'it is being dealt with and you will receive an update in the next week'. This is now the end of February 2012 and I still haven't had a letter or phonecall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This happened to me yesterday. Fortunately HSBC suspected fraud due to the excessive amount Consortium Reclaim tried to take from my card & did not authorise it. I had already called CR immediately backvstatingvthat I did not wish to proceed & they asked why piling on the pressure saying how much theyvouldvsave me blah blah blah. IFinally they got the message & said they would not debit my card & proceed but yes they tried gain & again. Luckily for me I'd already placed a temporary block on my card. I am going to write o HSBC myself citing that it my be unenforcable rather than pay this terrible company so much. If you phone your cc company they maybe able to help you get your money back. Good luck

I get calls from this company 2 or 3 times a week. I've told them I don't have a credit card with a balance on it but that doesn't seem to stop them phoning. I've warned them I will report them if they keep calling. Lets see if that stops them.

I've had several calls from this number over the last few days, in fact they've called 4 times to day already and are becoming a nuisance! Fortunately I have 'caller display'. But the fact that they are calling means they could be preventing someone else I realy DO need to speak to from getting through! I would like them whatever 'company' they are reported and got rid of!!!

I got this number again today-and wonder why-this number is definately a call centre owned by consortiumreclaim uk, as you can see the number straight away on their websites front page - yes, yet another company trying to make lots of money ...sorry-get back your 'mis-sold' PPI (payment protection insurance) as seen on countless tv adverts, whilst taking a fair percentage of it that you probably dont find out about, as its fee for doing so. I never answer any calls I dont recognize on my phone anymore :D All these companies are now appearing on tv, but that doesnt make them any more trustworthy, it just means they can now afford to appear on it, lol. I have a feeling when its not the obvious (talk talk foreign call centres hiding under the uk number) TT are simply not taking me off its telemarketing (despite being supposedly off it for a couple of yrs-it has never stopped marketing calls). I cant think of anyone else aside from the bank sharing my phone number, but in the days of the internet, info such as phone numbers can be shared rather fast, so Im not blaming anyone.. just yet. lol

I had calls from this number on my mobile and home number which I very rarely give to anyone via internet. I have no debts and have had no loans in the last 9 years. Was not sold ppi and I do not want to be called by this company whoever they are.

These idiots cold call me (automatically call 100s of people, even if they dont have enough staff to talk - thats why you get no one on the phone and it just hangs up.. then they do it again). If they constantly call and never let you speak-you can report a suspect scam here:
    https://secure.consumerdirect.gov.uk/reportascam.aspx
    http://www.which.co.uk/technology/phones/guides/ten-tips-to-stop-cold-calls/

Never give ANY credit or bank card details over the phone to anyone, and try moneysavingexpert for further advice, eg here are some consortium customers:-

This number just called me, Welsh accent, well spoken, completely out of the blue.
Old enough to know that if something seems too good to be true......it is.
People who give glowing endorsements of these comedians.....yep, they're in on it sure as eggs is eggs.
Anyone cold calling me and expecting personal info had better have a thick skin as 'Get lost' is the polite version of my reply if they persist.
    Please people.....get some common sense!
I'd rather be called an idiot and still have all my money than be an idiot without it.

    sick to death
Just got call from consumer lifestyles asking about credit cards - I don't have one. He understood I used to have one before 2007 (I did but it was about 1991) I asked where he got my information from and he said "from the Government" I said "What do you mean  'from the government' ?"He said " Do you have any outstanding debt on your credit card?"  I said "NO!" and said that I didn't like the idea of a stranger having information about me. He carried on talking over me, so I shouted "Get off the phone! Get off the phone!" and put the phone down. We are constantly bombarded with silent calls and I'm sick of it.   Is it illegal to use a whistle to help deter them?

These Muppets are constantly calling my business line - where I don't have TPS. They are moronic - they are obviously reading from a script - waffling on about ministry of justice etc - ministry of muppets more like! They are scammers - everyone knows they are scammers - but still they operate!! What is wrong with this country - people get fined for dropping a sweet wrapper accidently in the street - but these imbeciles can invade our privacy, harass us for the details of our private accounts and steal money from the vulnerable and get away with it. If we had any sort of Ministry of Justice - they would put these companies out to grass forever and let decent, hard working Brits get on with their work and their lives without these repeated phone calls!!!!
