Had a call from these too .... Managed to get the name of the company they were representing ... One Debt Solutions ...
In the conversation they quoted recient legislation and also that they were regulated ...

Quoted me Ministry of Justice and www.claimesregulation.gov

Hmmm ... DOnt think I will be trusting them ...

I rang the 0800 number back & asked them to stop calling me & they were most helpful when I advised tham that I am registered with the TPS!

These people will charge you for a service that you can carry out yourself free of charge.  If you are trying to reclaim credit card fees etc., go to Martin Lewis's money expert website for downloadable documents & a guide on how to reclaim FOR FREE!!!

The sons of bachelors called for my wife and on being told that she had just died asked if I were the husband and then just carried on and didn't stop until I shouted at them.  Aren't they controlled by TPS?

I am also being hounded by this number and cheekily they do not leave a message so when you call them back it is a chargeable number!
I have looked at their website and tried to send them an email to remove my number from their database but surprise surprise the email came back unknown!

hi i had a phone call from a mr steven thomas saying he could reclaim my money back on my credit card so he wanted my credit card details and i said no and he said he sent me a email but it never came in

They called me twice this evening.  I don't know where they got my number from.  I hate these unsolicited calls that always come when I'm in the middle of cooking....

I am registered with the TPS (telephone preference service) Have just receieved a phone call from Consortium Reclaim , I asked if he had heard oh the TPS , he said yes . I asked if they checked before making phone calls and he just carried on trying to sell me his services. I told him I would report call to TPS and put receiver down . Have now reported call to TPS

You wont have any problems, I used to work for Consortium and they are genuine. I left because I was alarmed at how many contacted people were worried that it was a scam. However they are genuine and so is the points of law they quote. I used to get emails from satisfied customers, which was the good part of what can sometimes feel like a thankless job. All I can say is, you will have a great chance of getting what they say, and if not, they really do return your fee in full.

This number rings me daily (along with several other similar numbers) Im getting pig sick of it my phone does not stop all day with calls offering to get back bank charges, clear my debt, refund ppi etc etc etc arrrggghhh

I first thought this was too good to be true but I've just been told today that the checks that consortium do have found some errors in my contract and I haven't got to pay back any more money on my credit card. That makes me much happier for christmas :o) I'd recommend them to anyone

So you bought something on your credit card and now don't have to pay for it because there is an error with the contract - so who do you think does pay....not the credit cards providers that's for sure it will be us. You bought you should pay for it and if there is an issue with the card contract contact the bank and sort it out for the future.

I agree with you to some extent. But when I took my credit card I was paying 8% apr. Currently I am paying 32.4%. I looked at how much I had already paid on this and found that I had already paid over 800 of my original debt and still have about another year to go. Don't you think that what my bank has done to me is immoral and a scam??  I went through the process 2 and a half months ago and was successful. I am over the moon. So I have paid what I originally owed but no more!!! If anyone is having doubts I fully recommend them. Personally I dealt with a gentleman called james. We was polite and veryhelpful. And I hope he enjoys the bottle of wine I sent him for his help.

These people called me today asking aboutcedit card agreements when they asked for card number, expirey date etc told them not intested.

Got my PPI claim today and my upfront fee refunded. happy as hell. £1762 GET IN!!!!!!!!!

This telephone number calls me every day and I am absolutely fed up with them. I am ex-directory so they have no right to be calling me. I have ignored their calls on every occasion except for once when I did answer and they then hung up on me ! They are a real nuisance and have been phoning me for a least a month.

Rightio, I've had a few missed calls from this company, I don't generally trust cold callers but there aren't any bad stories on any of these posts. When I speak to them I let you all know what happens.........

hi, I got a call from tehm this evening.. I wasn't happy with the fact that I had to give them my credit card details..don't care if they are scammers or not.. I felt pressurised into it.. so I rang my bank and cancelled my card...I came accross this website http://whatconsumer.co.uk/forum/payment-prote ... um-reclaim.html so now glad I cancelled it... if I want to get a claim I would rather make the call myself and not pay a fee upfront...not worth the hassle

Alright I'm back. I've had a call from a friendly chap called Craig this evening.  I'll share what I found out today. First of all its not a scam their website is www.consortiumreclaim.co.uk and they are registered by the ministry of justice (or something like that). They are looking into one of my Credit Cards to see if I don't have to pay it back, if that one s succesful they are going to look at another for me. I can see what you mean about paying up front Alibrat and I questioned this but they said the reason why they do this is because the money i pay to them becomes part of the debt and I haven't got to pay that back either, they said its on a no win no fee basis. I spent about an hour on the phone and they explained everything in detail. I mentioned the posts on this forum and they said most of the posts are people complaining about cold calling, there is nothing about anyone being scammed online, if you read through th posts this is true. The link to the whatconsumer site doesn't mean anything. I'm with virgin for my Broadband - have you read the amount of complaints about them when you seacrh in google?? and I've never had a problem with virgin - its just people moaning.

They said it will take a few months - I'll post back when they get back to me
