Received a call today, saying they could help me because I am was in  debt with my credit card and that the law changed in 2007 and lots of people weren't aware of these changes.
I told them I don't have any debt and that I don't even own a credit card.
They had my correct name and address on their database.Where they got this from I have no idea.

Consortium Reclaim phoned me last week and explained their business. I asked them to send me the information about credit card reclaim and they also said they would sent me information on mortgage advice.
I received one email saying the fee for 1 agreement would be £798 + 10% of my balance. This was taken from my credit card within minutes of the phone call plus a second fee for mortgage advice which they did not email me about. So - £1392 out of my credit card within minutes of them talking to me.

When I read the terms and conditions it seems that if they can't get a full refund then they will obtain whatever compensation they can for you. What if I only get e.g. £200 compensation and I've paid them £1392? I decided not to go ahead, I hadn't signed anything or sent any documentation to them. I telephoned and spoke to three people who tried to persuade me not to cancel yet repeated that there was a 14 day cooling off period and I was entitled to cancel. In the end they agreed to ask their accounts department to refund the money.

Two days later I checked my credit card account and the fee is still showing as a debit so I phoned again. I was told it would take 28 days to refund it by cheque! Two minutes to take it off me - a month to give it back. I said it was not acceptable, they were selling me a service because they said I hadn't signed an agreement to a change in terms and conditions of my credit card so was not obliged to pay the company, yet I hadn't signed an agreement with them but they were entitled to take money from me. The girl I spoke to spoke to her manager and then told me they could refund it next week because they had reached their limit of refunds for this week. My reply to that was 'I don't suppose you've reached the limit for how much you can take off people this week.'

The cheque will be sent to me by Wednesday 14th April. My next credit card statement is due on 10th April so I will be charged interest on what they took from me! The credit card company have told me I should contact them to refund the interest as well. We'll see how successful THAT is.

According to the employee who has posted on here Consortium Reclaim can only charge you once they have confirmed by email that they will do so. They charged me for 2 agreements but only emailed me about 1. Looks like they may have breached their terms and conditions.

iv got a friend who went along with this so called service and gave them details after them showing him they were autherised.he then passed on the number to his brother who also went along with it and they both now havnt had anything back.the banks are still chasing them for the debt with letters, phone calls etc. its been over 13months as it stands,hes contacted them and they keep ignoring him.

utter waste of time if i mite be honest.should be reported!

they're not even at the address they say they are.....it says morfa or sometyhing but they're based in the city centre, i live in neath and checked it out!

Yes phoning from Cardiff - Said she was from Consortium Reclaim

Answered a call today from a young girl with a distinct Cardiff accent which doesn't mean she was phoning from Cardiff but could have been. She informed me she was from a company called Consortium Reclamation.

She knew my surname, I forgot to ask what else she knew about me and she phoned me on a non-listed telephone number informing me that she asked if I had entered into any new credit cards or credit agreements since 2007. After asking her to repeat about 3 times, I asked her what sort of scam she was trying to run and she was very serious in informing I may be entitled to compensation. I told her where to go in no uncertain terms.

Sorry, I didn't have time to go all the way to see if she asked for my credit card details but could see what was coming.

Don't bother with this company, they are dodgy, and they don't always comply with the regulations of the ministry of justice as I know someone who used to work for them. You also get credit card charges if the debt cannot be deemed unenforcable!!!

i have just received a phone call and yes they sound very convincing but i think its better to go with a company that has the no win no fee policy, this company wanted to put a 1000 pounds on my credit card and claimed they would get all my credit card balance and their fee back, and if they were unsuccessful they would credit the 1000 pounds but by then they have all your credit card detals, im not sure if any of these types of companies can be trusted? is there any genuine person out there who has had money back and then paid a fee for the service?  i think these companies even get their employees to post postive posts on here.
