I have just received a similar letter from these scammers.... I am worried about receiving a CCJ for a bloody scam.....
Ms P - Ms P replies to Ms PFrom what I have found this is the Home address for the directors of this company.
- Janine MI have also been scammed by this company. Please beware, they are very slick and sound plausible...
I had no idea what had happened until by Sky equipment developed a fault, I rang Sky to get it fixed and they informed me that I wasn't covered and that they had never heard of 'Sampora'.
I am currently trying to get my money back (they just took another payment), I phoned them this morning again, to demand a refund and have sent another copy of the email I sent them in July to cancel this bogus policy. My bank is investigating and hopefully I can get a my money back but I may have to resort to cancelling my card.
These people are a nightmare, and do not listen or care. I completely lost it with the woman on the phone this morning... :/- Caller: Sampora
- Lizzie M replies to rowdyI did the same thing as you last year and today have received a demand from a credit management company who are requesting payment plus collection costs! Watch this space!
- Katy replies to Robert GoodMy Mums situation is almost identical to the one Robert describes.
£120 to be paid by Tuesday or the costs will rack up. Both the company and the debt collectors are relentless and unsympathetic to the point of outright arrogance.
I have been in contact with many many consumer groups, culminating in the decision that we will demand her documents, transcripts of the recording of the initial cold call and any correspondence via Subject Access Request, (although I'm sure they will say they don't have anything), and progress to Action Fraud and the police should they be at all suspicious or slow in responding.
I have contacted BBC Watchdog and my local radio station in the hope that they will take up the case and I would urge all of you to do the same - one or two lone voices will not be able fight these people, we need press coverage.
I have also contacted them today by the assorted email addresses I have found on google, although I don't expect a repoly even if those addresses are still valid - I'm requesting that they drop the debt, apologise to my elderly mother and change their working practises - valid company or not!
I WILL progress this case - they are relentless and I'm afraid I will be also.
PLEASE could you all continue to post on this site, as I will do as it may help your cases too, and you may help me.
I don't want to frighten you but even if you think you've cancelled - even if by writing to them - you will most likely receive a letter from their debt collection agency over the course of the next few months demanding payment within 7 days (having had NO reminders from the company itself within the year) giving you no time to dispute.
I'll let you know how we get on. - Joe 90 replies to Bex| 4 repliesHi Bex
Ive been scamed by these BA*****S too, we need to organise against these scum, all of us together. report it to the police and your local MP. Ive found out about a law called the misrepresentation act 1967, which makes it a CRIMINAL OFFENCE to sell you something whilst pretending to be someone else. therefore you can report it to the police as serious fraud because its no longer just a civil offence.Oh, and report it to your bank that these scum have fraudlently obtained money from your account. These scum need to be stopped from ruining innocent peoples lives. please dont hesitate, report them NOW. Also anyone else reading this that has fallen foul of these rats, REPORT THEM NOW, IF WE STAND TOGETHER WE CAN BEAT THEM. - Katy replies to Joe 90| 3 repliesHi All,
Joe you are so right, I was advised by Action Fraud though that the best way to go is to obtain all documents and telephone transcripts relating to the case via Subject Access Request first and then if they have misrepresented themselves the evidence is there and will be strong. (There is help and guidance online for submitting requests - just google Subject Access Request template letter or call the National Debtline - 0808 808 4000),
If nothing else, we will all tie them up with paperwork so they're unable to continue misleading people for a while!
It's great to see that you're willing to have a go - we should all make sure we refer back to this site to get our acts together and support each other.
I have written to the Daily Mirror, Watchdog (both via email), and contacted my local radio station and will be subitting my SAR on monday. Should they fail to respond within the obligatory 40 days then they are in serious trouble.
I didn't think about our MP, thanks Joe.
I've emailed SatLite twice at both addresses I have found and had no answer as yet, surprise!
admin@sat-lite.co.uk
info@sat-lite.co.uk
(neither have bounced back as yet!)
Please everyone - do the same, (especially as far as the publicity goes), a large number of people can't be ignored and as it's happening to so many people there must be a problem with their sales methods, and the way they don't make contact until they hit you with the Debt Collectors!
Unfortunately my Mum wants to pay this as she's frightened about the debt racking up, however, I will continue to battle on and hopefully win her money back once we all win. Even if she doesn't get her money back she has said she will happily forfeit it if it means they stop treating people in this way.
Right, letter to MP on the way now, PLEASE everyone, STAY IN TOUCH and Good Luck - Joe 90 replies to Katy| 2 repliesWELL DONE.Thats the spirit Katy, this morning I was fighting alone, now we are an army of two, thanks for the info, it just shows what a difference it can make when we pool our resources. COME ON PEOPLE, STAND WITH US. THE LINE IN THE SAND HAS BEEN DRAWN.THEY ARE BUT FEW AND WE ARE MANY.
Remember, for all their smug, lying, low down cheating tactics, their only real strength is to keep people feeling alone and isolated and that no one out there cares, well heres news for you scumbags,WE CARE, there are far more good people in this world than bad, and theres two good uns right here. So come on and join us good people, your not alone,THE FIGHT STARTS NOW. - Katy replies to Joe 90Totally in agreement with you Joe - many thanks for the positive and brilliant response!
I'll be checking this site at least once a day to see how we're all getting on, maybe by tomorrow we'll be an army of 3!
I'm raising a nice glass of wine to us all and The Campaign - CHEERS! - LizzieM replies to rowdy| 4 repliesBeware Rowdy - I was same as you - tried to call and couldn't get through so cancelled my debit card. Have now received a demand from a debt collection agency for a full year's subscription plus £45 collection fee, which I'm told will increase if not paid within 7 days. Am advised by Consumer Direct that I will probably have to pay this as verbal contract is binding and its my word against theirs that I didn't receive any paperwork or requests for payment. I am so angry - thinking of contacting the TV programme "watchdog".
- Nan replies to LizzieMRead the previous posts. Consumer Direct are not the only people to contact.
- Katy replies to LizzieM| 2 repliesHi Lizzie,
Please please call the National Debtline on 0808 808 4000 - explain your situation and ask them to send you a template letter for a Subject Access Request (have a look at my previous post)
I received mine today and will be sending it off tonight in order to receive all documents and telephone transcripts re my Mum. Once we have evidence we can ALL take action via Action fraud and the Police.
I've also called the Office of Fair Trading today who advised putting everything in an email to them at: enquiries@oft.gov.uk
They will look in to them, particularly if a lot of us do this.
We have paid my Mum's demand today, I do realise that she is lucky to be in a position to be able to but she's ill and has very little money and I'm determined to get it back.
As I've said previously, I will keep checking in to the site every day to see how we're getting on and post any additional helpful information I have.
In the meantime, to sum up:
Contact National Debtline or search online for Subject Access Request info.
email/write (recorded or even better, Special Delivery - keep all receipts!) to the company at whichever ID they're using - Skylite, SatLite or Sampora, telling them that you dispute the debt, you had cancelled it, and that you are making a formal complaint.
Contact the Debt Collection Agency, checking that the call is recorded, tell them that you dispute the debt, you don't accept liability, you are looking to make a formal complaint to the company, and that they should also expect a subject access request.
Contact, BBC Watchdog (the more people that do the better)
The Daily Mirror - or whichever investigative journalists you prefer
Your local MP
Email the Office of Fair Trading (address above)
SEND OFF YOUR SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST
Keep checking back here on a regular basis, daily if you possibly can.
I wish everyone the best of luck and will keep my fingers crossed for all of us. I have met some hard-headed callous business people in my time but this lot are something else! - LizzieM replies to Katy| 1 replyThank goodness for people like you - I feel so much better now!
- Katy replies to LizzieMHang on in there Lizzie - we're slowly getting together I think!
Once you start calling people and firing off emails and letters you'll feel better still.
Don't forget - I need you too!
Best wishes - KatySorry everyone - I meant to make clear that you must include with your Subject Access Request, a cheque for £10.00. This is a standard charge for this type of request and if you don't include it then they are entitled to write back to you to say they won't provide the documents until you do.
I have a feeling that they wil probably not even get back to you and wait for you to make contact to see where your documents are, thus dragging out the response time even further.
I'll find out now who we should make the cheques out to, and post that as soon as I can- Caller: SkyLite/SatLite/Sampora
- Katy| 10 repliesRight - that's a cheque for £10.00, payable to Sat-Lite Ltd.

If anyone needs to email, the recommended email address should be: admin@sat-lite.co.uk - joe 90 replies to Katy| 9 repliesHi everyone.
Spent all day on this, been to my bank and put them completly in the picture as to what is going on, even printed out some of the horror stories from this site, they were really grateful that i brought all this to their attention and will be monitoring my account closely for any sign of these cockroaches.
After what seemed like an eternity of trawling around various official sites and phonening everybody and his dog, I finally came across ACTION FRAUD. which is a GOVERNMENT AGENCY RUN BY THE NATIONAL FRAUD AUTHORITY. which is set up to help fight fraud in the UK.
Spent about 20 mins on the phone with a really helpful guy giving him the full sp on whats been going on, at the end of which he gave me a CRIME REF No. It turns out that these guys pass all the info on to the police for investigation into Fraudulant activity. Just type in ACTION FRAUD and follow the links. - joe90 replies to joe 90Also just to keep you guys in the picture, the phone no for ACTION FRAUD is 03001232040 or you can simply do it all on line, oh yea, paid a visit to my local police station to put them in the picture, they too were very interested and took my name and the crime number, also sent off an SAR the same as Katy has done,AND spoke to my local MPs office to book an appointment with him on this matter as soon as all the party political stuff has finished. Will be glad to go back to work tomorrow for a break. Without doubt, ACTION FRAUD has been extreemly helpful, they treat it as a crime straight away. PHONE THEM OR GO ON LINE NOW. Keep fighting people,
Regards, Joe 90 - Katy replies to joe 90| 7 repliesWell done Joe - really productive day! Sounds like you had a more proactive person at Action Fraud than I did!
Must admit I'm holding off until I see what comes back from the SAR but you have been amazing and I can't wait to hear what happens next.
My MP's office have been in touch and a very nice lady was really interested - knowing where I live she'll be back in touch soon as she said.
Hope Lizzie's getting on ok.
There's hope out there Folks! - Lizzie replies to Katy| 6 repliesHi All
I'm still on it Katy - trying to download a suitable SAR template I can adapt. I've already sent both Sat-lite and the debt collecting people a letter as recommended by Consumer Direct under the Misrepresentation Act 1967 and requesting that they send me transcripts of telephone calls in 7 days. Perhaps I should wait for 7 days before I send the SAR. My biggest problem is whether to pay the so-called debt and still carry on fighting or whether not to pay and risk getting a CCJ. Advice would be appreciated, but i guess its up to me.
