I had the same call today...I asked her to call me back after the weekend as I wanted to check this business out before I gave over any bank details..she seemed more than happy with that...I will certainly have something to say to her if she does ring back!!! Glad I found this site.

hi hear about your problem did they take a pound out of your account ,and did you get back to them before the billing  date  I have just cancelled mine. tried to get to there cancel page on the web was not there, so got in touch with my bank to stop further payment they put me through to there dispute team. gave me the number what they go under on my bank statement M G I  08445671020  THEY ANSWERED STRAIGHT AWAY gave them my  customer number . cancelled.
PS just in case my bank are stopping there payments.

Had a call from a young lad named Kieran asking me what the weather was like in England so I got sucked into the call and then lead me to paying a 1 pound charge for the posted I have now had 79.99 taken from my account this is a scam and i am not happy i will be looking for this Kieran even if it means getting the postcode to there hq!

I got called by these people are was dumb enough to fall for it...NEVER GIVE YOUR CARD DETAILS OUT, NIT EVEN JUST YOUR EXPIRY DATE!!!M

Had call yesterday and said to fellow who rang,"why don't you take the £!.00 from the voucher you are going to send me?" Can't do that, was the reply, need your credit or debit card number. When telling him I do not give it over the phone, he got annoyed. I told him to forget about it and I got the stroppy reply Already done that. Then dial tone returned to me.
 Got the same call today from Cardiff offering me all the goodies and when £1 was asked for said I would send a cheque, can't have that was the answer, so how about $1 in postage stamps, still no. Must have your credit or debit card number. Told her I didn't have either, conversation ended, quickly.

I fell for it as well I have canceled on line but have had no response I phoned my bank and if money is taken from my account have to ring bank and they will sort it ,, very worrying as I am a pensioner and dont hsave much to live on without being robbed ,,, so ring your bank

I was contacted about 12 days ago by a women claiming to represent sapphire magazine /membership overing a 2 week trial to the magazine membership & £20 petrol voucher. That membership was £79.99 & that I would have 2 weeks to decide & commit,no obligations. My uncle has cancer so when she said how an amount of all proceeds goes towards cancer research I agreed. I was happy to pay the £1 requested for postage. I tried to contact them by phone & internet as today they tried to take the £79.99 from my account. while on the internet I came upon comments & realised what happened. Luckily for me there was insufficient funds in my account. I contacted my bank (santander) who told me it was MGI who tried to take it & the registered contact number to that account is 08445671020.

The same thing happened to me on Monday, sounded like a young woman called me on my mobile and said I had completed a survey online (which I do but I only give my mobile no. as I can block theirs later!). I had been selected for a free magazine to be sent to me, blah blah blah. I said nice but....
Then she said do I drive/have a car? i said yes,, I had won a £30 voucher for petrol, diesel or a fuel of my choice... I said very nice... BUT I would cost me £1 for postage.
I said how can I pay for that and she said with a credit or debit card but she only needed the long number on the front of the card! I replied with the obvious response and she simply said 'Thank you, bye',  
These people need stopping... they irritate me, so just think of all the other more vulnerable folk that fall prey to them. Vultures!

Another scam call from someone calling herself Amy from "Sapphire Magazine" offering me free magazine, 2 or 4 £5 petrol/diesel vouchers and I could cancel within 14 days with no charge except £1 postage. Wanted debit card details. Let her carry on talking, apparently subscription charge would be £79.99  then told her  I never pay over the phone under any circumstances and she just hung up.  

I too have been scammed by this so call company,  I called my bank who informed me that because I paid on my card the initial £1.00 and other monies will be due to be taken from my account soon, when it has been taken my bank will investigated
by VISA and my money should be returned.  £79.99.

Yes like an idiot got caught, £1.00 at first then just before this amount was taken they applied for £79.99 on my VISA. NOT AGREED.  I have contacted my bank and been advised that once the larger amount has been taken VISA will make a full investigation and hopefully this money will be returned to my account.

I to have been scamed will b down at bank. Asap and the police I am a pensioner as told them this I hope I can get it stopped

Just a had call this morning, claiming to be cancer charity referring to the harmless survey I did the day before.  Fell for it.  Tell you your bank immediately.  If you paid by debit card it won't automatically cancel the payment if you cancel your card.  Report it as fraud.  I have done scores of legitimate surveys before and never had a problem.  if you ever asked for your card details don't give them as they may try to take more than than say. Called their customer service number to cancel my magazine and fuel voucher within 15 mins of their call.  Will only do surveys in the future for companies that I know.   Avoid Sapphire like the plague!!

I can see why those who lost money say to avoid like the plague, but you haven't...all you had was a phone call.

Got call from sapphire but checked name on google first. Glad I did. Anything that sounds too good to be TRUE normally is a lot of tosh. I also heard laughing behind in their call. Not what you'd expect .

I received phone call two weeks ago, as not well and the pressure they put on me I gave my card details. As the days went on no money taken and no magazine arrived I decided it all sounded fishy so I have cancelled cards today, I feel happier as felt a twit for falling for it. They mentioned that I had completed a survey, I couldn't remember, part of my illness, so couldn't argue.

Just got call from this mob. Because i didnt recognise the number i said the person they were asking for was unavailable. When i asked who they were and if they wanted to leave a message they were hesitant. Call seemed weird so googled it.  Thank god i did. Hope they get caught
