Have had loads of calls from this number and there is never anyone there, so for the last week i'll just let it ring.
I phoned Tmobile to see if they can bar this number for me but they can't (some samsung phones can block numbers)the lady at Tmobile called the number for me and left a message apparantly for them to remove my number. Lets wait and see, fingers crossed.

I got a Topman card a few months ago and it is the same as the burton card and dorothy perkins and others. This number rang me as well. They are automated calls that put you through to someone once you answer. If no one is available it just hangs up. Halifax do the same thing as well as other =banks and store cards.

I have had around 3 calls from this number every day for the past two months or so. It went quiet over Christmas. Usually the calls are after dinner but before 5pm, but somethimes much later. If this is the fraudsters who are trying to ger our credit card details can the police not do anything about this?

If it is Card Protection Plan (CPP)York they are a large legit company offering credit card protection insurance. They are a major employer based in York working for firms like M&S who use storecards. I know they do 'cold' calling as many of my students worked for them part time. They get your name from your store card provider. You can trust them. Look them up on the web. Doesnt make it any less annoying though!

I've just had this number call me, but as soon as I heard the gap between me answering 'hello?' and the caller responding seconds later with 'hello?' it was clearly a marketing call and so I hung up.
Whenever I receive cold calls I refuse to discuss anything with them until they tell me where they got my number from.  They always retreat from such questions and usually end the call themselves shortly later.

I have also been getting calls from this number and it's really peeing me off. They call from early in the morining to as late as 8pm at night, and at the minute I've beem called every day for the past two weeks! I answered once and the phone went dead. I have a store card woth Dorethy Perkins (similar chain to Burtons) so is this why? How do I stop this?

Me too. I've been getting two calls a day on average for the past couple of weeks, and have just
had one from the 01709 number. I took out a Dorothy Perkins
store card in the summer so it looks like that could be the reason.

I am on T-Mobile. I have been recieving endless calls, I escalated this to T-Mobile management, who called the company- They will not provide details of who they are. This is almost definatly some sort of scam

I get calls from this number everyday on my Tmobile phone; about 3 times a day at least.
They hang up immediately I pick the phone up.
I have a Dorothy Perkins card. I dont know if that's part of the reason I'm getting these calls.
Was previously getting calls from 02087402040. Same sort of nuisance calls.

I have opted out of sales calls at the telephone preference site- why do I still keep getting these calls?

I had a call from this number - calling themselves Financial Insurance & Assurance Co Ltd. I asked for a number to call back on when I was told 0845 1309405 didn't take incoming calls - and was given 0870 400 4713 for 'customer services'.  Don't intend to contact them or provide any further info - I suspect it's linked to either a printer or camera I bought recently probably after money for an extended warranty. No Chance.

Received this today. Left no message on my answer machine

Again late afternoon calls, no one appears to be on the other line, i have answered as ive been of the last few days, not even office noise, it just cuts off as soon as i say hello, noticed its been the last number to call on several occasions over the last few weeks. I have also had calls from a withheld number with an automated message from a debt solutions company, not sure if theres a link between the two.

Store cards defo seems to be the link, got a burtons card in november.

Had 3 calls from this company everyday this week and a few times last week, have been off sick this week and each time I answered phone just silence.

I don't have store card but my wife has M&S and if I find it is them that will be 2 less customers they will have

I can confirm that this is definitely something to do with store cards for the Arcadia Group (ie Burtons, Topshop etc.).

After having several missed calls, and a few that I'd managed to pick up only to be cut off from the other end, I answered the phone to be told that I was being called because I had taken out a Topman card and that they would like to offer me card protection.  I politely declined and haven't been bothered since.

Same as all the comments above.
