I just joined match.com and received an email from a man under the name Ew1950@talkmatch.com and he asked me to email him at lewisjohn990@yahoo.com. And he had the exact same story line you got also!! I'm sooo glad I saw this site so I know now to stop this immediately !  Thank you thank you thank you

I got 30 emails from Paul Unwin. Hebaaid he found me on Linkendin. But I caught him earlier as Frank Miller on FB since he usea the same photo he sent me an the photo used on Frank Miller's FB whih now is reported abusive just a few days he got me on emails. Photos were of a very good looking guy. He is due to meet me next week. Wanted to meet my parents etc..no money yet but I got lucky I search for this number he called me earlier and now I know he is a scammer.

May 29th, Antonio Mario Garcia started emailing me like everyone else. Same lingo. Widower for ten years
Son and father died in car crash. Daughter in Italy and mom.
He never called me, but keeps emailing  me for one week, then I caught on to his profile. I google him, no such person. I am too smart, so glad an old flame came into my life again and bye bye to Antonio.
His phone number given was 940-602-6094

Almost verbatim from "Antonio Garcia". He claims fluency in so many languages, he should work for theUN as a translator.he should have at least removed the word"weekend as this is Tuesday. Thanks everyone for posting these. I won't waste anytime writing this guy/guys.

Same info re: Senior Fund manager with  Vanguard, Mr. Varden, and Charlie Forbes, mum dying on Italy, father and son killed in car accident, prosed to me without having ever met  me,  huge oil deals in Dubai needing to use my name in the deal as he was doing it on his own with shieks in United Arab Emerates), which was against his contract with Vanguard, unbelievable romantic love letters, which I am now realizing that he sent to everyone.  Scammed me for over $25,000,00. Later asked for over $450,000.00 to get money transferred to MY account here in the States.  At that point, I contacted an attorney.  Ladies, don't let loneliness blind you.  These guys are criminals and scary!  Never again.  There are worse things than living alone!  I am now working with an attorney to see what can be done.  If FBI is not willing to work with us, we are left holding the bag!!

I got this exact email except the name was - Antonio "Tonio" Mario Garcia.  The more I read, the more furious I am getting.

Got the same email about the $11,000,000.00 that he want to put into my account.

I received this exact email from Antonio "Tonio" Garcia.  What a jerk he is!  He scammed me for over $28,000.00.  Proposed to me and was going to use  "the ring" that one of the investors in Dubai gave to him  to ask me to marry him.  Unfortunately, I swallowed his story and feel for the romantic love letters that he emailed me every day.  Same information that others have included in their blog.  I have hired 2 lawyers plus two private investigators working on the case.  I have offered him a deal to return my money or else all the information that has been collected will be turned over to the FBI.  They will have their work done for them.  I will spend my last dime to have him put under the jail if I do not get my money back.

Your 'Tonio' lives in Nigeria and the FBI cannot touch him unless he is on US soil. They are not interested unless the amount scammed is over $200-250K. Your money is gone, gone, gone. The lawyers and private investigators are further sucking you dry. They can't get to him either. Stop throwing good money after bad. It was an expensive lesson, but could have been worse. You could have been killed like the lady who went to meet her 'lover' (scammer) in South Africa. Tonio is a group of Nigerians and 'he' has moved on. It is time for you to do the same. You are a much wiser woman now.

So is there nothing that can be done about this. I didn't lose any money but it was just so humiliating. I would love to spare other women this humiliation just because we want to love a man. There must be something that could be done. I have already sent an email to Match.com. I have a feeling it went into the ether. If the FBI (and you sound like you know this for sure) and private investigators can't help, is there some way to band together to do something? Other than just being wiser!

Hi, I have some information for you about this guy.  His picture and name changes with the wind but the story is the same.  All he wants is your money, nothing else.  I promise you that he is in Nigeria because I saw him on web cam when he let down his guard.  He never got money from me but wanted me to open an account in my name so he could send money from Dubai for us to share.  Born in the dark maybe but not yesterday.  They are all in Nigeria...I had conversations with 3 of them and they were all in Nigeria.  I saw two of them on web cam.  The one you are talking to told me he had many fake wives but he was addicted to me.  He wanted me to help him scam some woman in California.   After her gave me her number I called her and told her not to listen to him that he was a scammer and just wanted her money.  So maybe you can get an IP address if you know someone who can do that sort of thing.  That will prove to you that he is in Nigeria.  Good luck finding him and I hope you get him put into jail once and for all...

Match.com can't really do anything except delete the scammers' profiles and access. The scabs just make up and submit new profiles. There is something one can do. Google 'scam baiters'. There are people out there that engage these scammers simply to waste the [***]' time and resources so they are not victimizing unsuspecting men and women. You may be interested. I tried to keep the most recent scammer (I've had 3) occupied as long as possible. Unfortunately, someone recognized that they had tried to hook up with me in the past. Probably recognized the email address and disappeared quickly. It is sad that I went out looking for a companion and possibly a lover and this is what I found. Perhaps it's a sign for me ... I don't know. Maybe I need to take my elderly father's words to heart when he says "No one is coming".

Let's hope not! I'm a firm believer that there is someone for everyone. Good advice though.

Awww... please don't listen to your elderly father. The world has changed and we were just unfortunate to run into these jerks. I'm convinced that there are lots of fish in the sea and there are plenty of trustworthy ones. Keep trying. As to the "scam baiters" - god bless but I need to put my time into more positive places than talking to these morons. I guess you gave me the answer to the question I've been asking over and over on this site. There is nothing that the law or the sites can really do to stop any of this. How very sad.
