Thanks, as for this price it is ok. Due to demanding and eventful work i won't be able to come and view it, i am interested in the item and it is needed overseas. I will be making use of a shipping company to have this picked up from your side and have it delivered. Further arrangements will be made with you in regards to the pick up once i have paid.


I would appreciate if you sell it to me, I'd be paying via PayPal or Bank transfer so kindly get back to me with your paypal or bank details for payment.

Thanks for mailing back ...am ok with the price and the condition,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project.We do not have access to phone at the moment and that's why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.Regarding the payment,i will be paying you through PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online as am not with my credit card details here but i have my ANZ bank account link up with my PayPal account so I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account or better still is if you have a PayPal account,please get back to me with your BSB and account details or PayPal account so i can proceed with the payment.I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up and deliver it to my place in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct.

These were the two emails I received and they contacted me by sms first

Patel Alpa Amit also wrote me with the same story
She introduced her self as Fria Australian 26 years old from Singapore
Then she sent me pictures and driver licence  whit the name Patel Alpa Amit  of 36 years old
She also asked me for my PayPal
She want to rent a room as well

I got a response to an ad placed on carsales.com and gumtree from JANET MITCHELL at 61428465117.

I would have love to come see it in person but due to the nature of my work.my agent will come for the inspection and also do the signing of the paper work and all the necessary papers needed to be signed.get back to me with your payment details so that i can proceed with the payment asap as i will like it delivered to my place before my arrival.

Yep - I got a text today from that mobile number asking was my van still for sale and what condition was it in, what was my final price etc and asking me to reply by e-mail.  Thinking it was legit I sent some photo's by email to roseallize@gmail.com (Rose Williams) , but I said "it looks like I have sold it" - "she" replied saying she was on an oil rig off NZ etc same as the other messages, would  buy the van it and asked for my bank details or paypal and her courier would pick it up to take it to Darwin!!  As I was selling an on-site caravan in NSW, I twigged that it was a scam and googled roseallize@gmail.com whoch brought me to this list of messages.  Obviously one of those scams where they pay you something, but then get you to pay someone for them (eg the "courier") then they get the original deposit made to you reversed, leaving you high and dry.  Definately crooks.

It's a scam and they also use an email address roseallize@gmail.com

have received a query from this number re a Car on GumTree .  gives a spiel about wanting the car for his son and offering money to remove ad from Gumtree so as to secure the sale as a surprise gift for son graduating in NT.  I'm in WA.  the name he is using is MICHEAL ELLIOT (note he has spelt Michael incorrectly) email: mic.elliot1@gmail.com.

An attempt scam was tried via this number on the portuguese classified site OLX. Please be aware.

got two messages from the same number asking if my gumtree AD still available for sale and asked me to reply back to:

did try and respond back to first email address and it failed hence why I googled the number and here I am!

Got a similar message about 'my AD on Gumtree'... I have three items advertised so knew it was a scam. Got a second text a few minutes later with the same message but a different email address. These people need to be stoped, why are the police not doing anything?

Hi I got SMS from @gmail.com also and one from sharonhair100@outlook.com as well via gumtree same number +61 428265117.

I got a text message from this number right after posting some ads for G-Shocks on GumTree. Person identified 'herself' as Diane Lamb, message goes like this:

Hi, i saw your item listed on gumtree, i did like it and i will like to purchase it, please get back to me at dianelamb86@outlook.com thanks

I sent an email asking which item she is referring to as I have several ads posted.

Below is a string of our email correspondence:

Diane: please can you list the items you have for sale again

Me: Here you go: *Full list of items*

Diane: am looking at the gshovk of $xxx and $yyy

Me: They're both still available, how would you like to proceed?

Diane: Hello,thanks so much for getting back to me..what is the condition of item and last asking price , i am a marine engineer, i am at sea right now. I am buying this for a close family member as a gift. I can only pay through paypal at the moment as i dont have access to my bank account online(i dont have internet banking with it), but i have it attached to my paypal account, and this is why i insisted on using paypal to pay,all i will need is your paypal email address to make the payments and and how much are you giving it away for me, and if you dont have a paypal account yet, you can set one log on to www.paypal.com.au it cant take you less than 3mins to do that, i will be expecting your paypal email so l can pay. I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted, l will be waiting for your reply asap

At which point I got suspicious, and told her I would prefer to deal in cash, and since she has an agent we could do COD

Received a SMS enquiry today for my car for sale.  Claimed his name is Stephen Parker.  I will reply with pi$$ off.

Look at his most recent scams from his address (mrklongwrt@gmail.com). He contacted me in Dubai.
