Name has now changed to Peter Oliver. Same mobile number different email address. Wanting to buy my car for his son in Darwin. Current a sailor off shore.

Got 2 emails on the space of 5 minutes from different people saying they were at sea.
Knew something was dodgy..

I had the same message from Mary Bash marybash10@gmail.com with this phone number 61428465117 as above after posting my ad on Gumtree. Stupidly I also replied - although I have not given any personal details of any sort they still have my personal email address now. Has anyone encountered any problems with their email after replying to any of these scammers?

Yep got the same on 4.12.13 for a car Iam selling on Gumtree

I have just had the exact same email contact with " Janet Maxwell". Same MO, NZ oil and gas, ship to Darwin.
Sounded sus about paying full price without driving it. I got more suspicious when I requested she complete the registration details on the rear of the reg papers which I scanned (back only) and sent via email and haven't heard back from them since.

That's when I started to Google her name and found this site...Thanks all...be carfeful!!!
It seems the more info you ask them to provide they back off.

Had the exact same email yesterday as i'm selling a car on gumtree.

I received a message from 0428 456 117 and asked me to email a dianelamb86@outlook.com about furniture I am selling on Gumtree, they then emailed me and said they were at sea and wanted to send me funds to paypal, for me then to transfer to China. I contacted paypal and googled the email address and yes its a scam!

Got an email a few months back about my dirtbike, paulsilver100@hotmail.com
He wanted to give me MORE than what i had advertised and have it shipped to him.

Now today i get a txt from this number (0428 465 117) about my car, his name is Paul again.
Wants me to email crosstack1@gmail.com with my best price "ASAP".

Obvious scammer is obvious.

I just nearly got scammed by diane lamb too.  Thank heavens a friend said that it sounded a bit suspicious.  I will be a more careful next time.  

Selling a Camper Trailer on Gumtree and received two SMS messages within 20 minutes of each other. The same phone number was used and the message was the same (spelling was different) except the email addresses were different.
