They tried this crap on me like 6 month ago, then I got a letter from the creditor that they said that I owed ment that said that these people were NOT authorized to collect from them.
So I called them back again and again and read the letter to them. They kept hanging up.
So today they found my cell # and tried the same thing. I love how they use names from friends and tell you that your friend said nasty things about them.
When that doesn't work they try to make you feel like a deadbeat by making fun of how much money you do or don't have.
If you ever talk to them you have to notice that they NEVER ask for money, unless you suggest it.
Cause that would be illegal.
Don't let them push you around, and try to keep them on the phone as long as possible, every minute they spend with you is a minute they aren't robbing someone else.

Called me on 8/24/09 saying I needed to take care of a bill immediatley that a fraud investigation was being done on me.
I work as an accounts payable clerk and this is also the information that was given to my boss.
NOT A GOOD THING, I could lose my job.

Left message on my husband's cell phone.  Said it was important that 'Rosa Rosa' call them back or they would have to turn it over to their legal department.  Referred to themselves as CPS, well my husband works for a school and deals with C(hild) P(rotection) S(ervices) on a regular basis for his job so you can imagine what was going through his head.  Don't know a Rosa or even a Rosa Rosa.

I received a call from this company, a male named Thomas Tucker, who misrepresented himself as working "for CPS in Riverside County" he said it was urgent and that it was an emergency, if I did noit call him back he would start procedures to have my children taken. I work for social services, so I guess he thought this would work. WRONG! I am filing a federal harrassment suit against them now.

Some called me looking for my son and wanted me to give him a message to call them.

I just got a voicemail from Thomas Tucker from TPS (he said it twice), so they may be trying to switch out the letter to prevent searching online by name.  I have excellent credit and no outstanding accounts so I'm obviously not calling them back.  If they continue, I'll look into filing a complaint for harassment. My phone number is pretty accessible online so that's probably how they got it.

My husband is on the phone with these people right now they are claiming I am being arrested as we speak......lol They claim I have charges is Money laundering, fraud, theft by deception.. These people are real pieces of work do not bother with them they are a scam artist...

Just got a call from CPS at my job. The lady said that I wrote a check on April 13th for $430. That's my birthday and I never pay for anything on my birthday. I told her that I was at work and I had to go. She asked to speak to my Supervisor. I told her no and she said she'd hang up and call someone else. I told her "thanks for calling" and ended the call. SCAMMERS!

I noticed an "odd" # on my caller id ref as CPS so I thought it was Child Protective Services. I called them back but it was after hrs. I was able to reach an operator who informed me that the call was for my sibling. I asked what this was in ref to and they could only provide me with a case # and the name and ext of the person they needed to call. I asked the operator if they could tell me what CPS stand for and they stated Check Protection Services. I have "never" heard of them which led me to a search via internet. Every article was none in realtion to the # I had on the caller id. When I did a # search through google I located the reviews on who they may really be which I am SO glad that this info was available. Please if anyone have further info, post so that all can be aware.

He didn't say his name but called one of my references telling them he's gonna prosecute me. He told me he was a private investigator and that he works for the courts. Told me that the time over my head I will have to serve and sent me to the hospital for the stress from one of the complaints. I found out his name is Thomas Tucker.

i received a phone call asking if i knew a jesus (last name) someone i dont know who it is...but we got disconnected and when trying to reach him again i was unsuccessful. i was really worried at first but still thought something fishy was going on. so that is when i decided to look up the phone number. now i see i was correct...i was a scam,

Received a call form CPS #760-423-1100 looking for an acquaintance.  Told me that she had written a bunch of bad checks for very large amounts of money, and they needed to contact her.  Wouldn't give me type of business or name checks written to.  Said they had already given me to much information legally.  Gave me a case # and call back # of 800-460-0082 ext 113.  My friend doesn't write checks.

This company called for my step-dad and left some pretty personal information on my voicemail. I advised them that I am also a debt collector and they broke 3 rules of the FDCPA and that if they called my phone again i would report them to the Attorney Generals office and they will find a lawsuit on their hands. The guy hung up. Just to let everyone know, there are rules that Collectors are supposed to follow and leaving personal information to a 3rd is a violation.

CPS is a collection agency.  They also call from the number 760-423-1100.  They have been calling me for almost three years over a debt I don't owe.  Each time they leave a message saying they are from CPS, give a case number and then say it's in my best interests to call them "today".  Whatever - don't correspond with them or it makes it worse.  They buy debts for pennies on a dollar and then try to intimidate people into paying the debt.  If I truly owed the debt, they would have taken me to court by now.  BTW - they try to use scare tactics but they cannot put you in jail - all they can do is take you to court for the funds (IF it's a legitimate debt) and they don't want to do that because it will cost them money.

Tim Duncan called. he was so rude asking who my carrier is then when i wouldnt tell him said he was going to GPS my number. He concluded by calling me broke for buying a prepay phone which i dont have.

Got a call from CPS (Check Protection Service).  Needed my son to call asap in reference to case#. Call 760-423-1100 ext 105 Debbie.  She needed to speak to him today.  I told my son not to call them back for he has NO checking account.  Went on the internet and found this site.  When I contacted the Attorney General's Office, they took the information and said DO NOT CALL THEM BACK>  Also, if they call again, you can answer and tell them that they have been reported to the Attorney General.  That usually stops the calls. If not contact Fed.Communications 888-225-5922 and FTC 202-326-2222. That should stop the calls.  Of course, they may call again with a new name & phone number.  Just report them again.
