I also received a call from 760-423-1100 said they are from CPS - left an 800 # with URGENT I need to speak with you today.

I just received a call from this number.  I answered with just Company name, and they hung up on me.  Frankly, If they don't know who I am or my employees, then its none of their business and I will turn them in.  Thank goodness for caller Id. If I don't recognize the number or if its Private or Blocked then forget it.  I've been know to put them on hold for quite sometime. Its their dime.

This just happened to me here at work. talked to Justin? Thompson from CPS. This is a scam. Long story short, I hung up on him and he left me a message on my cell phone stating that I need to call him back because obviously I am guilty of something since I hung up on him. I just laugh at these people. I asked him to fax me documentation for what he was claiming that I owe, but he told me he would only do that after I set up payment arrangements, I'm sorry, but if it was real, they would have to provide something. But anyway, it is a scam, laugh at them, tell them you looked it up on line, and that you know they are not legit, and have fun sitting back relaxing, laughing when they flip out. I started to do this just for fun.

I have being getting harassing calls from this CPS company thinking they were a legal company till I checked the FBI website and checked these 7604231100 and 7604231144 numbers.  This company has called me at work, home, cell and my relatives looking for a payment for a delinquent loan. They had my information and was determined to get paid. They told me I didn’t need to call the creditor because they were the point of contact.  The person as I spoke to introduced himself as Robert  Smith at Ext 111. You have predatory lending well you have predatory collectors.

Received a call from a "Mr Craig", didn"t bother to tell me where he is calling from but that it was in my best interest to call him asap.about an investigation, he left a number. Now, who is going to return a call to someone in the blind without first knowing what they are callilng for and about, do they really believe people are that stupid? I am getting very tired of blind calls and I will not return a call unless they tell me what they are calling for and about. Also, calling with numbers that are unknown and you can only look up what area they are callling from, I do not understand this and have no regard for these calls unless they give me a heads up. It sounds to me like a scam of some type. What legit business would do this? UNLEGIT, Do you agree?

Definetly a collection compay.  I received a message from them saying they are CPS and that they were child protective services.  I don't even have children.  When I called they immediately said I owed them money for a debt a long time ago.  Report them for illegal activities including fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!

These scumbags kept calling my job threatening ME. Instead of getting up off their fat butts, they sit around harassing people, and the cowards hide behind technology. I simply called and asked them for their address and a very irate, tempermental [***] kept screaming at me. I owed money but had paid it off 2 years ago and have the documentation and witnesses to prove it but he kept running his fat mouth and screaming and making threats about taking my paychecks,(which I know is a lie)...In Texas wages cannot be garnished for anything but child support and taxes and I do wish he would try to garnish my wages because I would sue his fat butt.  These are not bill collectors and they are terrorist and try to frighten you into sending them money you don't owe.  Anyways I got there address and they had better watch out whom they threaten.  They are cowards behind a phone.   The call themselves Check Protections Services and they hound you for something you've already paid. I ain't gonna send them a dime. If I owe you, I pay you, if I don't then bring it on.

A reputatble company would have no trouble giving their address. This [***] just started yelling at me, saying I wrote bad checks, in which I DID NOT. They are liars, and lowlifes that need to get a job and work instead of harassing innocent people. I hope he drops dead.

This may be a hoax but I got an e-mail from this company Collection Professional Services saying I owed $400 on a debt, but I had already paid it...This e-mail comes 16 months after I already paid my debt.
They list their address as 36101 Bob Hope Drive, Suite E5-302, Rancho Mirage CA 92270.  They claim to be Check Protection Services when they call you I guess to get a rise out of you but they are are really Collection Professional Services.  Truly they are rude, liars and con men.  I call the this because they try to scare you into sending them money you do not owe by screaming at you, illegal threats etc. If they call your place of business, use this address and send them certified mail, to stop calling you and your place of employment. Search for a cease and desist letter on the internet if you cannot write it yourself or go to Buddhibbs website.  Also, report them to the FTC, the FCC, your states attorney general, alert the BBB and the FBI.  They threaten to have me arrested, I guess they think I'm stupid and they they can arrest me. I wish they would but they are just windbags with idol threats. They cannot do anything to you and they may threaten to sue you but they want. Everything that comes out of their mouth is a lie.

Good luck and don't let them push you around, their tactics are illegal.  I work for a government agency and if they ever call my employment again, Homeland Security will be authorized to find them and then they will get what they deserve.

Take a little time and report them to all agencies.  Also, if they threaten you with bodily harm, call your local police.

Your exactly right Greg, they call me about a settlement I made over 2 years ago with Ace Cash . Said I didn't pay, I had my old records,I called Ace Cash and have a friend that works there and Ace said this company does not represent them, they are a FRAUD and scammers and for me to report them to the Police, and Attorney General.  ACE said , they have received many calls about this company. THEY ARE NOT LEGITIMATE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY. THEIR THREATS ARE JUST THREATS, THEY CANNOT SUE YOU BUT YOU CAN SUE THEM, THEY CANNOT ARREST YOU. THEY HAVE NO AUTHORITY. THERE ONLY WEAPON IS TO CALL AND HARASS YOU. My employer understands the situation and the next time they call my job, THE FBI will go out and arrest them for harassing phone calls at at GOVERNMENT AGENCY.

Had this company investigated, they left their name as Check Protective Services when they are Collection Professional Services, just a bogus collection company that will tell you that you have written bad checks. They are tyrannical, irate, ignorant, and fraudulent. They try to use scare tactics to get you to western union them money. They will not tell you any information, but accuse you of check fraud, and threaten to have your wages garnished which they cannot, threaten you with jail and threaten to have me beat with a baseball bat. They are scammers, fraudulent and if you some people I've talked to paid them only to have them start calling and harassing them again in a few months. So don't pay, if you owe, pay the original creditor, but most of my reports is of people whom owe nothing. This is the worst excuse for human beings I have ever heard of.
They even called a 75 year old cancer patient and harassed her until she sent them her grocery money for the month. My prayer is that the almighty smithe them down or allow the waters of the oceans the swallow them up. They will reap what they have sew.They are most definitely scammers.

Just like the post above, I got a call at work from a JOHN LARGO, check protection services, he said I wrote a bad check and insisted I settle it with him that second or I would possibly face a civil suit which would cost me over $10,00 because I was gonna pay his fees and court fees and threatened me with jail time of 60 to 90 days. I asked him for his address and paper work on whom and a copy of the check I supposedly written, he wouldn't tell me,he just got irate and started screaming at me saying he was gonna garnish my wages. I thought he was gonna have a heart attack.

Then I calmed him down by saying how much do you want me to send and he said your check was for $200, with nsf and our fees, I'll help you out so western union $315 today and we will call it a day. I said ok, where was the check written, he then accused me of playing games, I then said, I just want to know whom I wrote a bad check to because no one ever told me, he then called me a [***] and threatend to gut me like a fish, then he hung up. This must be a crackhead, I will see him in jail. Class action lawsuit, against Collection Protection Service. He has threatened the wrong person.
To follow up: I do not and have written a bad check. My account is an always has been in good standing. He is a liar, these are scammers and Dope dealers,crackheads... Report them as I have done, and be sure to record them. My phone lets me press record instantly. They try to scare you into wiring them money.

Lately been getting calls from a John Largoe from check protection services. He is rude and vulgar, called me a deadbeat piece of horse @@@t. told me I borrowed $3000 from Soloman and I said no I borrowed 200 from them in 2009 and it was long ago paid off and I said, sir please check your information, he hung up, then I called Soloman and they said they never put me in collections, so I found my old records and told John Largo I would fax them to him and he said hold on and a guy came on the phone saying he was Tucker from crime investigations and i needed to send payments today or he would see me in civil something and I said no, please sir let me fax the information and he said you are on my list for wage garnishment, and he hung up I then called Solomon and called John Largo and went to three way and Ann from Soloman told him I was a 2009 customer in good standing and they didn't give $3000 loans, he quickly hung up. They are frauds, they steal your applications from the internet and harass you until you let them know your not going to take it and your definitely not going to send them any money. I pay my debts and don't need hassles from criminals. This man is not stupid, he is insane and has mental issues obviously, he was screaming at me so loud and cursing that he lost his breath. I thought he was going into cardiac arrest a few times, and it was funny. hey John, call me. or better yet, jump in front of a train and put yourself out of your misery. Check protection services is a scam. be careful with them. They are also insane and mentally deranged. They are not a business, no reputable business behaves like this. Hey guys don't be scared of them, they cannot sue you, they cannot garnish your wages, they have no power. all they can do is sit on their lazy butts and call you and they will scream at you, yell, threaten jail, the until they realize you are not going to send them one dime and then they will stop. To the folks that are getting calls at your job, send them a certified cease and desist letter (just google it from the internet)call your phone company and call your local police and tell them you are constantly being harassed by these people on your job and home then prosecute them for telephone harassment if they keep calling. That's why I like it when they call me at work, I have recordings and witnesses. Don't let these criminals punk you out, handle them..This works. Oh, and just go to the police dept and say you want to file telephone harassment on Check Protection services, maurauder, Collections Protection Service, they have many names , and all the info is on the internet, they being exposed also in Youtube, just research these fraudsters and keep your money for REAL creditors.

Beware these people are scam artists!!! They do not have a license to collect debts at all. They are going around contacting customers of other companies and telling them to pay their debts and they receive the money then they keep it!!! You then still have the debt you had with the company you owed!!! They are fraud. Under no circumstances send them or make payment arrangements with them contact your debt company personally and report them to the authorities. They are being investigated. Also the names that they portray is just one person!!!! Beware!! Beware!!! Fraud company

I just got another call from these people. I don't answer the phone anymore. They claim I owe on a bad check for 700.00. I said that's crazy because payday loan people get court judgement and not send to debt collectors. I filled out an FCC report on them and I hope the Feds shut this operation down. I called the original payday loan and they say I don't owe anything and they wanted to know who was doing them like that.
